New debt added to credit file from AGG - no idea who they are!

That is the same address as used by multiple companies within the Arrow Global Group. There are literally dozens of nested companies each of which has as it's "persons with significant control" another Arrow Global company. They often share current or past directors, some of whom were also directors of Crapquest or Intrum companies before Crapquest was "spun off" a few years ago.

According to Arrow Global's website most consumer debts were sold off in May 2023 and both Arrow and the "new owners" have appointed Crapquest to administer the debts. It doesn't confirm who the new owners are nor whether the entire portfolio was sold to one "new owner" or whether there are multiple "new owners".

So one director I'm looking at right now has 5 current and one resigned directorships with either Intrum or Crapquest and was a director of Arrow Global Limited until 31 May 2023. All those companies use Booth Street as their registered address, although that doesn't mean they engage in any collection business at that address.

Just as an update on my side - nothing further received from transunion. I have checked my experian account and this is also posted on there under this AGG company so I have also raised a dispute with experian to see what happens.

I am not sure whether to send a prove it letter to AGG at this general manchester address or should I wait and see what experian and transunion come back with? I also need to check equifax to see if it is on there. This is really not fun.

Does anyone know where we stand - if this company have bought a debt and are posting multiple late payments from last year but haven't made contact. How is this fair? Is there anything we can do?

I got an email from them and they said 
« Dear Sir

We refer to your email dated 14 February 2025.

This account was previously owned by Vanquis Bank Ltd and was being master serviced by Capquest Debt Recovery after their appointment by AGG Booth Title Limited.

AGG Booth Title Limited have appointed us, Arrow Global Massey, as master servicer.

The default will remain on your credit file for 6 years from 16/09/2022.

This was an account from 2014 that I had included in my own BR in 2023 and that I was discharged from in 2024.

What i can’t understand is how they can suddenly appear on my credit  report as an. Open and in Default account - and place me on 6 years default from 2022??

If you sent them a Prove It letter, I can understand the response. 

Did you tell them you are a discharged bankrupt? If not, do so now and provide the details on the Insolvency Register. Any response other than, "OK, we're closing your file", complain.

I pushed them to remove the open account status from Transunion and as it was part of my Bankruptcy I am sorry to say, they also updated the status of the default to settled, but only because I pushed them to acknowledge that this was over 10 years old and owned by multiple other debt companies. So my default from 2014 now starts from 2022.

The elephant in the room is here is how can a default be kept active for over 10 years by these companies? Is it legitimate to sell the debt to another holding within the same group and restart the clock. Surely this is making a joke of our rights somewhere??
