New debt added to credit file from AGG - no idea who they are!

Hi, can anyone advise on what to do please.

I am trying to clear off last few debts and rebuild my credit file and I have just noticed my transunion score dropped hugely so I was just looking at the report and it seems a new debt was added. It says September last year but I don't recall seeing it before and have only just noticed the big drop in score.

It says AGG Booth Title limited - it says it is a credit card that started in 2018 and I don't recognise the account number or the amount. It could be a credit card that I had where they just stopped writing to me and marked it as closed last year I think.
I've not had any contact from this company - yet. It just lists 2024 and one missed payment in September 2024 - nothing else is showing.
Any thoughts on what I should do now? So stressed!

Nothing you can do, if someone writes to you asking for money, then send the prove-it letter to them.

6 years after default date the entry will automatically be removed.

I can see someone has a similar problem, unless it's you. Not sure if this link will work

There doesn’t appear to be a default entry listed? It just says all blank for last year except for September missed payment. That is it so I don’t know what I can do about it :(

Yes they seem very weird! Not me writing the review no - it is weird that this person has so many businesses - it feels a bit scam like.

What can I do now - is it worth me raising a dispute with transunion? I will check the others too to see if this is listed on there.

Not sure what I can do next - this is so frustrating that someone can just add something to your file when you have no idea who they are and they have not made any contact! Is it worth raising a dispute? It sounds like they will just say they have been given the information nothing they can do etc. How on earth do I get rid of this now :( So frustrating when I am trying to improve my file ready for applying for a mortgage in the next few years - this feels like quite a set back :(

Contact the company concerned and ask them about it.

Raising a dispute with the CRA is pointless, they will just ask them if the info is correct, they will say yes, no further ahead.

Go to the organ grinder, not the monkey.

It's difficult to contact this company. The CRAs may have a contact method for them.

    Their registered office is

    1 Bartholomew Lane, London EC2N 2AX

So you could try a letter but there are many companies with that address

You would think that if they are buying genuine debts then they would be writing and asking for money. It-s all very odd

Thanks - do you think I should wait and see if they contact me? Or should I contact them first and send a prove it letter? The credit card - if it is the old one I am thinking of had my old address attached to it so they may not have my current address.

I have only just noticed the entry and I check it at least monthly - but it says 2024 started so I am confused about how they can do this :(

It all feels very strange - not sure what to do? Wait and see if they contact me first? Or can I try to do something now :(

If they are not chasing you for money, then just ignore it for now.

I understand its a good thing to keep abreast of events on your credit file, but you can pay too much attention to it.
