I know. I chose monthly. It’s less entries to reconcile in the bookkeeping system for one.RFW said:

So that seller joined ebid in 2021. They have 720 feedback, 714 of which were imported from eBay. They have received 6 feedbacks for sales on ebid in 4 years. I know not everyone leaves feedback but I don’t think they’re selling very much on ebid at all. That tallies with the experience many of us have had.bittyboy101 said:Just been exploring Ebid and apparently if I have gold membership there I can import my eBay seller feedback which is very helpful.
Looking at their searches for "Old plug" and the results, whilst not over populated like eBay, They still show enough relevant items which are quite useful. and show PayPal as one of the payment methods which is my main attraction ! as this = INSTANT BUYER PAYMENT !

Is this supposed to only come into effect in February? I sold an item two weeks ago and still haven't been paid. UK to USA. I'm a private seller. I've uploaded the tracking but obviously the royal mail tracking stops once it gets to the USA handler and it doesn't automatically update on ebay's tracking page.
Also, I bought something in November from a relatively new seller account (private seller). He messaged me a few times after it delivered asking me to notify ebay I'd received the item. Ebay were witholding funds because he was a new seller, and would release payment once they were satisfied the item was delivered. The tracking was already uploaded and showed as delivered. I didn't have any kind of option at my end to notify ebay I'd received it, so I couldn't notify ebay and presumably he didnt get the money. As a buyer, is there any way to confirm you've received the item?1 -

Are you able to transfer the money to your bank account the same day ?? or do they make you wait 1-2 days from when you (or they) send the money over to your bank before it is available to use at the bank ?
Thanks for the info

There’s always been holds for new sellers or existing sellers who suddenly sell in a new category or sell a high end item. However somewhere on your eBay notification it will have stated the 21 day hold applies . Usually money is released after 21 days if tracking doesn’t update , but buyer can’t hurry that along as there’s no confirm button or anything. This new system will be slightly quicker in some circumstances but doesn’t come in until 4th Feb.whalemoney said:Is this supposed to only come into effect in February? It’s a good point about the feedback as even some of the regulars we used to get on here (not been seen for a while) did mention that a lot of the high feedback was from eBay sales as it could be imported across.noitsnotme said:

Usually when ebid gets mentioned I give it another try just to see if it has got any better (it never has so far and I just waste my time listing). However it did occur to me that it has now lost the hook of being the cheapest, which used to be the only draw for newbies, but of course It was always necessary to have the lifetime membership which was always half price. I’ve never seen ebid this expensive, plus of course using PayPal adds to the costs so for private sellers ebid is now dearer than eBay which is unheard of.
Perhaps if bittyboy has any success it might be a good time to start a new ebid thread - especially if the lifetime membership has now gone up, and listing generally otherwise isn't free.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They do it for you. It's much the same system as I get on Ebay as a business seller. I give them the bank account and they pay into it every day. The minor difference is that Etsy has a £15 minimum and Ebay doesn't have any. Etsy has holds for some accounts, so if you don't send tracked and/or use their post they'll hold for 7 days.bittyboy101 said:

Amazon is much slower than both. I'm now in (as far as I can tell) a minority allowed daily disbursements. Once a transfer is made that takes 3 working days to get to a bank. Most sellers are on "DD+7" to withdraw, that's confirmed delivery date plus 7 days and then you're allowed to transfer, so could be 14+ days before you see any money there. That's without business sales/invoiced which are subject to a 30 day wait.

From their accounts and looking at it it looks like it's all automated with lots of external ads on there. If I was trying to push a site like that I'd be looking at some non marketplace sites that have built in audiences, so Uber, Airbnb, or more local pages. As I say though it looks to me like they've just given up and are hanging on for someone to buy the name, which is the only asset they appear to have.soolin said:Usually when ebid gets mentioned I give it another try just to see if it has got any better (it never has so far and I just waste my time listing). Yes, it’s particularly bad if you use a mobile browser. I kept getting lots of pop up google ads I had to close to be able see the actual page content. It’s not a very positive experience for potential buyers, many of whom won’t stick around when bombarded with irrelevant ads.RFW said:

There's even some of the die hard regulars moaning about the amount of pop up ads and it seems quite a few get round the ad blockers as well. I was looking at some listings in the past few days (I always look when ebid gets mentioned here) and could barely browse due to ads rolling up slowly from the bottom or suddenly obscuring my screen. My ad blocker works Ok elsewhere so I will have to see what settings I need to adjust just so I can browse.RFW said:

Even logging in a few days ago it took me a couple of goes due to pop up, but I am still showing as 'PLATINUM (Lasts a Lifetime) Expires : Never - so I do still have the top level registration which would mean if I did sell anything all it would cost is my paypal fees - although under FVFs it does say 0%/2% so I would have to see what the difference is between the 0 and the 2% listings. I also get 20 free photos- the same as ebay. I can't say I'm overly tempted to bother though.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
