Morning all
Bag of kale taken outside for bunnies - they can't eat the grass as it's frozen. Also brought in rock-solid water bottles, emptied them, refilled and back out but I'll have to do it again later, it's so cold.
TD emptied and laundry folded.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I have been sitting the last few days out on flying and decluttering due to a grotty cold, now chipping away at some of the list but plenty of catching up to do as I feel a little better.
I've just done a S&S on the bathroom, it has been a small pleasure to have it clean and clear and I want it to stay that way.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Just finished my mid-morning coffee.
I have prised dirty washing from DH's grip and load 1 of 3 should have finished by now. I am trying to limit the number of times I have to walk down- and upstairs as my left hip objected strongly to my attempt to reach my toes in order to pull on my thick tights this morningso I will put the curried parsnip and apple soup on to cook when I go down to swap the first load over to the TD and put the next one in the WM. Fortunately L has taken Rosie out for a long walk with her friend Reggie the Welsh Terrier, as it is very icy round here .
I've played freezer tetris and discovered some frozen cooked chicken that I'd forgotten about. I will put the mop over the kitchen floor, but no other flying is necessary today by my standards (we did a lot of hoovering and dusting yesterday) so I aim to sit and sort more photos this afternoon. I've also got to finish off a bit of financial admin, but that shouldn't take long.
Hope you have a good Fri-YAY! xxx7 -
A bit brighter here today, the sun is out, the frost seems to be lifting.I have been out with my new saw, I've cut up all the wood that was lying about, and made it woodburner size, sorted out the apple tree that was cut down last week, stored the seasoned wood away, to keep it dry, made a load of kindling, has a good sweep of the woodstore, removed 2 cats wandering around in there, and locked the door. Put the non seasoned wood in a heap near the shed, once woodstore is empty, it can go in there to dry out over the summer.Kitchen is doneBins doneDeer / birds / cats fed.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Afternoon all,
Just back from a lunch meet up with ex work colleagues. Lovely to get out and meet up. Used the trip via small town to fill the car with petrol. Still snow lying around here, but it has warmed up slightly so that the roads are mainly clear apart from the country lanes.
Before I went out, I flicked the duster around the spare room, mainly so that I could get on with cutting out some material. Priorities 🙃. Wm is now swishing as yet again DH has “found” a load of washing.6 -
Afternoon girls! My DH "finds" washing too Fayolle - it's really irritating isn't it?
Day started at -8 degrees here, so after the school run, I ordered heating oil as I really DO NOT want to run out of that and got a load of logs in to start the burner. Had to cancel a dog groom as the water to the caravan is frozen and I was not in the mood to deal with an additional floof in the house, so I pottered in the kitchen for a while, waiting for the fire to warm up the lounge then sat down with a cuppa and promptly fell asleep! For three hours! I must have been exhaustipated...
I've agreed to collect a friend's lad after school with Tiny, so they will no doubt cause carnage here. She has gone to a concert in Manchester I think, so Tom will stay for dinner or until his dad gets home from work to collect him. I will tackle my dire dining room while they are playing and Small can do his bit by getting in some more logs when he gets off the bus. He has trained the bus driver to drop him right outside our driveway gates, so he doesn't have to walk down from the village! That boy is a born negotiator, or master manipulator...I can't decide which.
It is very quiet here ATM - all the hounds are snoozing and all I can hear is the crackle of the fire. Utter bliss! Won't last9 -
Sorry to hear your day was unsuccessful yesterday Twinklie and I hope the car situation is sorted out with the minimum of hassle.Hopeless on Connections (apparently I know how to make a Negroni - who knew?), Strands with masses of clues, didn't get Wordle. I think the brain cells I need for all those lateral thinks are on hold while I use my rational brain to sort crap from treasure.I've been up to the attic again, bought the rest of the ood food down and that's ready to go to the tip. Ditto a lot of glass jars which I've decided no matter how much jam and marmalade I make I'll never use, or frankly don't want to have to make enough to fill them, sorted out a box of books I no longer need from mysehlves and have started a box of gibble as well.I had a Kilner-type jar of brown sugar lumps left over from the wedding celebrations in September and we don't use them, but a neighbour likes brown sugar in his coffee so I nipped next door and offered them to his wife, she said she'd get a container for them, I said 'Keep the jar if you like.' They know I'm on a massive declutter but I think that rather surprised her. Win:win as far as I'm concerned. The she said, 'We've got an attic full of stuff and we haven't touched it since we moved in eight years ago.' They're thinking of moving. I don't envy her one bit, but she said yes to the jar so I'm not going to say anything else at all.The chap in that household asked Belovéd if my target of 2,500 items by the end of January was a system I found online - he told him it was. Fine by me, and it kind of is, it's something I've worked out for myself but couldn't have done so without being a Flylady for a while, so he's a bit right. Where's that copyright symbol when you need it? Anyway, today's items of interest gibble brings my total so far to 586 things (and I counted the pile of 330 envelopes that that had sealed themselves shut in the attic some years ago as one item because I am not letting myself cheat this system, which means I'm 23.6% of my way to January's target but I'm stopping for the day because I get very tired hauling all of this stuff about. One of the reasons I'm doing this, and there are many, is that l found myself re-organising stuff yet again late last year in order to make room for something, and I realised I spend a HUGE amount of time sorting and organising. It's time I'd prefer to spend doing the two things I'm interested in at the moment, which are walking on Dartmoor when the weather's good enough, and sewing when it isn't. I haven't had time for the latter for years and I'm not prepared to go on living like this. I'm spending all of my time and energy on dealing with this crap and it may take until the end of March, but it will be for the last time. I'm not a minimalist, but I need space on shelves, in cupboards and drawers. This house was completely full when I started and most of it is my crap. I'm not Swedish Death Cleaning, I'm using Marie Kondo's ideas but there's literally too much stuff for me to follow her step by step approach, but I do really like her book. I'm reading it in five minute bursts (on the loo!) and I'm going to follow her order for dealing with clothes which I think I'll start on Monday with teeshirts. I've probably got a few in the attic but if I stop to go up there and find them that'll be another few hours when things don't get chosen for donation, recycling or the bin. I'd rather deal with what I've got in the bedroom right now and deal with the attic stuff when I start on the rest of the stuff up there. As yet I've hardly dented it and some of it's been up there for 31 years. I wish I could say it was untouched but I've sorted and re-organised it so many times that's not true at all.I've had enough.Better is good enough.8

I got that line too in connections HoneyBear but the other three lines elude me, as does wordle, though Ihave got some letters in the right place...I've run out of options.
Bed stripped. Going to remake it when I move. Been to Lidl as I needed more kale and I had to kick my way into Daisy's pen - the ground has frozen and the paving slab the gate should glide over must have lifted, so she's running about as I dare not shut it Bought 3 bags of kale and snaffled my free sweet treat.
Friends coming round tonight; we are having a takeaway - one friends bro, who lives 'fairly' near HoneyBear but on the top coast near a v. famous artist is seriously ill with sepsis so we decided a get together might take her mind off things. She's poised to drive down though.
And TA DAH I have done some work admin which got shoved to the bottom of the to do list and SOME PERSONAL ADMIN TOO WOOTY WOOTY WOOT WOOT, including a complaint to Mr M because the cereal that should have been in clusters looked like it had been through a food processor. Instant response and 5000 points on my card within 72 hours. Thank you very much.
