Afternoon All
Another lovely wintry day - around 1c so not as 🥶 as some places, but cold enough thankuverymuch 😀
Plan for today & tomorrow ....
✔️Open windows briefly
✔️Air & remake beds
✔️Potter about PUPA & tidying as I go
✔️✔️S&S kitchen & bathroom
✔️✔️DW & WUDUPA rest of crocks etc. trying to get DW useage down to 1 per day
I recently read a book about using greener/natural products for cleaning - washing soda, liquid soap, surgical spirit etc. I remember my nan & mum using all these things. I used to dabble with HM cleaners but lost my way a bit when life turned a bit cr@-ppy for a few years.
I've decided to give it another go the old way (but not hand washing everything & putting it through the mangle like nan did!), so....I've had a job lot of old-school jollops/powders/jars delivered - looking forward to spending some this afternoon sorting out what's going where and mixing my own fabric softener, kitchen spray and whatnot ready for the new flying week.
OH is convinced I have a couldron hidden away 🧙♀️
I may be gone some time...."I started out with nothing
And still got most of it left"

All the filing has been finished, months and months worth, I found an unread letter (oops) which wasn't surprising because I've done as much as I could over the past few months in the run up to Christmas but I couldn't keep up with everything, and I found and put into folders with like-minded notes all the various scrappy bits of paper that I've collected here and there whenever I had a lightbulb moment. There's a lot of good stuff in amongst it.I didn't find the civil partnership certificate which I managed to lose within a couple of weeks of the ceremony. Oops. Duplicate ordered, in fact two, because I've got to send one to a pension mob because apparently a copy won't do and I just know I'll never get it back.I haven't done the research survey but that's okay, I can do that tomorrow.I'm beginning to see the glimmerings of improvements. I also decluttered another ten items of interest for the CS and completely filled a bin bag that was only half full of recycling to such a level that I'm not sure it's not going to split when I load it into the council bin.So a successful day's flinging. Delighted with that.At some point it'll be difficult to find stuff to dispose of but I'm nowhere near that point yet. It rather shocks me how easy it is to prune my stuff back really hard.Better is good enough.8

You are doing so well HB, I love the idea of keeping a tally of how many things have been decluttered. DS1 came for tea on Thursday and mentioned that he couldn't find a particular rucksack. We went up to his old bedroom to look in the cupboard. Mum there is such a lot of !!!!!! in here he said. Yes, and it's all his, and he doesn't even live here. I managed to extract one pair of trainers for the bin. I assured him that when he gets a more permanent home all his stuff will be boxed up and delivered to him.
Beautiful winter walk yesterday, the local woods were like Narnia. The freezing cold is getting a bit tiresome now though, living rurally means going everywhere by car, and the roads are unpredictable.
All laundry is up to date, I have given the utility and DS loo a good clean, DH has done some hoovering and dusting so the house is fairly presentable. Hoping to get to the coast tomorrow.10 -
Good morning my lovelies 😘
Do you remember when the temperature used to get above freezing? No? Me neither! Not dressed yet but nipped out in my dressing gown to feed the birds and pour hot water into the bird bath.
Woke up and got up at 7am. Made my bed. Turned over the calendars and took my meds. Completed Strands with no hints, Wordle in three, but only managed two lines on Connections. And I'm supping my second brew. Very nice it is too.
To Do Today List
Get dressed
Laundry shuffle
WUDUPA
Put out the recycling
Open box containing bird table
Check what tools are needed to assemble
Hoover downstairs
That's plenty for a Sunday. I can always add more later if the urge to fly overwhelms me 😊
Take care. Keep warm. And upright if venturing outside.

Morning everyone.
My list for today
Take the dog for a long walk
HHI (Make sure everything is ironed for next week)
Spend 3 hours on uni prep for next week
Sort out travel plans for later this month
Change the battery in my fob watch for work (it decided to stop working on Friday which was not very handy)
Dust downstairs
Sort bags, clothes, lunches etc for tomorrow
HH me time
Spend an hour decluttering (almost filled the skip yesterday)
I think that is everything I need to get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.6 -
Morning all,
I was temporarily deluded into thinking it had warmed up by the fact that there was no frost in the cars. One step outside put paid to that stupid thought.
It’s been a slow Sunday start here, but so far I have supped brews a-plenty, run a small load of misfits (things that were hanging on for a load, but that wasn’t going to happen, so they have gone in together) through the wm, meal planned for the week ahead after a good Paddington stare at the contents of both fridges, added a couple of items to the small on-going shopping list, and taken the shelves out of the oven. This last is due to the fast waning intention to clean them and the oven door. Now I have declared the intention, I have to get on with it *sigh*.7 -
I've only just realised now after eating a late breakfast that I'm absolutely shattered. I've done one load of washing because it's bright and sunny and I'll put a second load on because the laundry basket is rammed full and they'll both go outside to dry even if they have to stay there overnight, but that's pretty much it for the day.I completed the research exercises and had to apologise for my performance but at least I met the deadline.See you all on the next one.Better is good enough.5

Considering I’m not feeling well I will take that as a job well done. Plus helping DS2 with homework took about 700 hours. *insert pained expression here.*
