Honey Bear you are doing brilliantly.
Did a morning of cooking prep as DB was due to arrive mid-afternoon
- prepared slow cooker (butternut satay curry) to put on before I left for Step
- made greengage crumble so it was ready to put in the oven
- put breadmaker on
- tidied anything lurking in kitchen - it wasn't too bad as we have been working at the revamped areas
- checked all flowers
- phoned to confirm order and pay for splashback
- checked spare bedroom
- went to Step class
The rest of the day was chatting to DB, cooking the above and planning for the weekend.
And - still evolving - my "coffee bar" and quickly-available spices/cooking basics area is now being tested. The photo makes it look like an alcove but there is more wall to the left:

Good morning my lovelies 😘
Another frosty one here 🥶. Day 1 of my 10 days off. So, of course, I was wide awake at 5.15am. Stayed snuggled under the duvet and completed the puzzles: no hints needed for Strands, two lives lost in Connections, and completed Wordle in four; plus scrolled through FB and various threads. Heating kicked in at 6ish so I knew it was another cold one. Decided that 7am was a reasonable time to be up so here I am: bed made, calendars turned over, meds taken, first brew supped, and scrolled through more threads.
Brew 2 is required before I formulate a plan.
Stay toasty. And upright.

Opened LR curtains and could appreciate the beauty of a hoar covered vista .... because I don't have to go out in it or defrost my car. The birds were waiting for their snap so I nipped out in my dressing gown and fed them.
Brew 2 is being savoured. Ideas are formulating into plans. I can feel the cogs creaking....

Morning all,
It is beautiful outside and was a pretty pink sky earlier, but so glad (like Round) that I don’t have to go out in it. Temperatures staying below freezing here again.
Love your coffee area, Narc0. I planned in similar when we re-did our kitchen last year - a breakfast / coffee corner, mainly for DH’s and DD’s coffee paraphernalia plus the toaster etc. As DH seems to spend inordinate amounts of time making himself coffee and breakfast each day, it keeps him out of my way and so I consider it a roaring success!
Today’s plan is for Marmalade Day to get underway. Plus yesterday I had a revelation on how / where I could put the birdfeeders for the little birds who are clustering in our hedge and shrubs. See, staring out of the window wasn't wasting time, it was me being mentally productive 😉🤣8 -
MorningNew microchip cat flap arrived late last night. OH is reading the instructins, and cats have gone outside, got cat 2 back in, did his chip. Applied body lotion to my legs after shower as the skin is very dry. (Glorious bruise on my shin from last week's fall.) Must remember to make it part of my post shower routine...applying lotion, not falling!!!! Current lotion came from Elvis's pad, Graceland, courtesy of my cousin.

Having coffee and breakfast. I'm discombobulated- thought the clock said 10.30 and it was actually 9.30. I just gained an hour's morning 😊
I've since
- cleared the kitchen and loaded the DW
- PUPA in the LR
- showered and dressed
My plan for what's left of today:
- finish the church job
- walk Rosie: it was -7.5° at 7.00am and has since risen to -4° brrrrrrrrr!!! with fog and very pretty hoar frost
- make lunch (at a sensible time, I hope)
- sort more photos
- go with DH to the Camel Drive which was postponed from last week: the weather forecast for this evening is just as bad as last Saturday's, with possible snow and black ice, but I expect that the fish and chips have already been ordered and paid for, so a second cancellation is not an option.
Onwards and upwards.... Hope everyone has a good weekend xxx

Morning all, I've been missing most of this week as I have been struggling to get back into the work routine following the festive holiday. I was getting up in time to get out to work in the morning, going to work then getting in and having something to eat and then just falling asleep.
My list for today
Spend 2 hours on uni prep for next week
Deal with Mr T delivery, check order and put away
Check and update diary (I'm determined to be organised this year)
Spend 2 hours decluttering (a new skip has been delivered this morning so time to fill it)
Sort out travel plans for later this month.
Take the dog for a long walk
Put the last of the festive decorations away
Dust downstairs
I think that is everything that I need to get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.10 -
I'm not decluttering today because the numbers are fine but I really, really need to work on the backlog of:- filing,- collate all the notes I've made over the past couple of months,- complete some exercises for a research project I'm involved in (deadline 17 January),- deal with the email backlog,- start tackling the In Tray when the rest is finished. It's an entire weekend's work, but it's at my desk sitting down so I don't mind that. Physically I'm kind of done this week but I've got a carload to take to the tip and CS early next week, and a bag of recycling that's ready to go in the bin now that the weather's better.I'll put a couple of washloads through the WM later today because we're going to be dry for a week here according to the forecast, but with very little wind so it'll take time for the heavier winter stuff to dry.I've cleared an entire bay one side of the house so I can now start moving all my camping and hiking gibble into it which means I'll be able to access the stuff I want to declutter up there at last but that's going to have to wait until I've got some energy again. The diary's blank next week - hurrah - so another week of sorting and disposing coming up.Better is good enough.9
