Morning everyone, It's a cold but sunny start to the day.
Kids away to school without any issues this morning so now time to get myself organised.
My list for today.
Do paid stuff
Take the dog for a long walk
Spend 2 hours on uni work
Put the rest of the decorations away
Phone carpet company regarding booking quote appointment
Speak to DH regarding travel plans for later this month
Wash up dishes, dry and put away
Wipe down the worksurfaces
I think that is everything that I need to get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday. Stay warm and safe!10 -
Morning all. Nice to hear from you, @Cloth_of_Gold - ouch to the dentist and fingers crossed re A's plaster cast.
At 9.00 last night DH wanted to watch Traitors, which I can't abide, so I returned to my desk and managed to remove all the photos from album no.2. That takes me past the birth of DS2 and almost up to the arrival of DS3. The pictures were stuck in with double-sided tape so were a ****** to get out undamaged, but fortunately my scalpel skills are not too bad! I have thrown out about 35 obvious not-keepers and put a few more in other piles for godchildren, former neighbours (hoping to get together for a coffee some time) and DC, but the heap that is left will need to be reduced by about 75% before I look to filling the archive pages.
This morning I have already done financial admin, FUPA DH's clean washing, S&S'd the kitchen, PUPA in the LR, remembered to get meat out of the freezer, and started the WM with the Christmas tablecloth. Next I want to phone the Building Society, then I must strip my bed (which will result in a couple more WM loads) and put stew in the SC. DH will be going to SW later this morning and model railway club this afternoon. Rosie is already asking for a walk. J the gardener is coming after lunch and will take down the outside lights and (I hope) do a general tidy-up in the back garden. So it's best foot forward today.
The sun is shining, the sky is blue with some wispy clouds, and the blue tits are considering whether to occupy the nest box that is on a level with the study-bedroom window - lovely!
Wishing everyone a good day xxx11 -
I'm with you on Traitors, @Ionafan (In fact I'm no fan of 'reality' shows at all; cheap thrills and cheap TV as far as I'm concerned).
While I was doing my vertical half hour I washed the trim from the shower screen (I scrubbed the tiles and grout and showerheard with a bleachy sponge before my shower) and sorted the laundry and ironing, though a solitary sock sat on the floor for most of the half hour. I've contacted the homeless charity from my work email as there were a couple of things I needed to update them on.

Me again. I've freshened sofa covers, changed bedding so WM is now whirring and sorted out what is in the fridge which led to making a batch of fruit salad and another of coleslaw. Will wash up next then walk Poppet.Spend less now, work less later.10

Kitchen all done including windows and sills, bar the floor. Just having 5 minutes. It's the first full clean it's had since Christmas, and I made marmalade at the weekend so it's had a good, and much-needed, fettle. Marmalade put away but must remember to do labels for it. Yesterday I topped up jars with various types of rice (and there are lots!) DD's massive coffee stash has found a home in a cupboard. She's got a bean to cup machine and lots of coffee *insert roll eyes smily* which does NOT need storing by said machine.
Recycling out, including gherkin jars as NDN doesn't want them for beeetroot - they're not mine, the aged P's pass ALL their jars to me and, rather than sort through and leave them there I bring them here to deal with. Whoopsied loaf arranged on tray and stuck in oven after I took my jacket potato out; when this has baked dry (in cooling ovens) it adds to rabbit food stock. Rabbit food container topped up from sack in shed and rabbits fed dry food and kale since the grass is non-existent (in the run) or covered in snow (in the garden). MUCH more sensible to do this in the daylight!

Hugs for you and get well soon vibes for your DGD Jazee
Last nights long soak in the bath in a clean, serene and decluttered bathroom was just lovely.
Today has been about the kitchen, cloakroom and utility/back hall. Lots of cleaning, very little decluttering in those areas as I did them recently. I still need to mop the floor but not while it is raining and the animals are in and out every ten minutes. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
