Welcome Amzwoody, and happy flying!Well new mirror was purchased at JL - looked in Home Sense as it's in the same retail park, and the quality of the JL one looked better. It is now sitting on the cleaned bathroom windowsill, and it looks lovely. The towels are in the tumble dryer, so I used the opportunity whilst the towel rail was empty (we have a ladder style radiator one) to clean that down too. Unfortunately, it is starting to rust in areas (luckily on the underside of the rails), so it looks like that may be the next thing that needs replacing. DH says that he can spray it, but I'm concerned that he'll get the paint everywhere like he did with the varnish when he redid the bathroom windowsilll before Christmas (he's still not properly cleaned up since then either). Also went to Mr S (cat food), Mr Al, HB (looking for lunch box inspiration for DS2) and Mr L whilst over that way. I had won a £10 off your next shop at Mr L on the app, and managed to buy quite a few vegan products there to try. We pretty much eat vegan due to DS2's food allergies.Lunch eaten (used up the leftover vegetable soup from last night - made to use up Christmas vegetables). Now need to check DS1 is on his way to pick up DS2 or else I'll have to leave in a hurry if he's not. ETA: Just checked Family link and it shows he's at DS2's school. Phew.Need to go through the freezers outside in the garage and reorganise them as having our first Ocado delivery tonight, and DH came home with some rescued food from his mother's house the other day and things have been shoved in chaotically and I need to make some room for the new things.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/201710

Welcome to Amzwoody - sounds like you got off to a good start.
Monday ~ Bathroom Mayhem.. Done!
A hard one for me, we were working on refurbishing the bathroom when he died and I had just cleaned round the tools etc since. Anyway, all put away now and a good deep clean done. Looks like the new anti mould additive he used in the paint is effective too.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Well done redofromthestart - that must have been really tough. Looks like DH is looking out for you still with the paint. x

(((Hugs))) Redo. Well done for tackling the bathroom.I emailed the local outreach centre that supports homeless people about the possibility of donating some rather good socks that I have worn but are surplus to my requirements, and some silk longjohns that are fab and warm but again, surplus. I told them I wouldn't be offended if they rejected them but I'd rather someone benefited from them than sending them straight to landfull. I know CSs don't accept what they'd class as underwear, so I'm delighted to report that the outreach organisation has said yes. Everything's clean but it's all been sitting in a drawer unused for far too long, so it feels good they'll be of use to someone especially at this time of year. The front path is scrubbed, top to bottom. Lovely neighbour who gave us the Christmas cake yesterday let me use her hose which made rinsing it much easier. I scrubbed it in the rain but the rain just wasn't enough to rinse away all the muck and vileness and it looked even worse mid-scrub with all the stuff loosened and I was a bit concerned that it would all just sit there, minging, until it was tracked into people's houses which was exactly what I was trying to avoid by doing it. Exhausting, it's not perfect but I can do little bits that would benefit from more scrubbing as and when I have the energy. Or someone else can. I'm not fussy.Another coat of paint on the en suite window sill and I've filled three holes in the wall so I can touch up the emulsion paintwork tomorrow. The decorater left some holidays for some reason so I'll do them at the same time. I'd like that to be the finish of it tomrrow.Soup and sandwiches for supper tonight. Neither of us feels the need to cook or eat another huge meal.Better is good enough.10

I'm trying to make small changes in life, and I keep checking out this thread.
I love the idea of having a list for the week, rather than daily. I might have to start doing things this way.
Today I
- stripped the bed and washed everything
- turned my mattress round
- got some groceries
Will come up with a list.

Dizzy skidding in on slushy roads after another mammoth day at work. Yesterday was an utterly horrendous day with fisticuffs, chair throwing and mug launching in the rehab unit. Two residents were caught absolutely steaming after drinking alcohol that they had obtained whilst on a shopping trip with rather naïve support workers, another had cans of Red Bull confiscated on his return and the brandy-filled profiteroles went straight in the bin. Room searches later discovered Vodka in water bottles, alcohol-based mouthwash and deodorant and huge quantities of tobacco. Never a dull day at the office...
Just arrived home, sorted the washing and put a load in and also put away all the crockery just let on the worksurface by the males in this house...sigh...
Log fire is on and I'm becoming less inclined to move, so must get up now! TTFN x11 -
Hey so glad I found this thread. Hoping it will give me the daily motivation I need. I found this late on in the evening so not much to report on day 1.
After a long cold day at work came home to find my old pup( 15yo) had went potty on the living room rug and the bedroom rug ( he has a dicky tummy and it happens sometimes). So scrub a dub dug living room rugs sorted. And the bedroom rugs currently over the shower drying.
All my washings are done on a Sunday to start the week fresh. No more until Wednesday.
Mondays are usually my housework free day, Benefits of being newly single (if u can call 4/5 months single new after 15 years) and childless. That may change after finding this thread. A clean tidy house always helps settle my mind.11
