I think that is everything that I need to get done today. I hope everyone has a lovely Monday. Please keep warm and stay safe.11 -
Morning all. Hope you're all cosy and warm. It's raining here and most of the snow has gone.
Wordle in four. I have a poorly DGD2 here. She's fast asleep on the sofa right now. I'm wondering if she may need to stay an additional day/night but I'll see how she is later.
So I'll do puzzles while I sit and watch her and just let the day flow...
Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Morning all. DH managed to get breakfast at a more sensible time today, because DS1 rang our landline at 7.30 on his way to work
Our snow has melted, and the forecast for the rest of the week includes a lot of sunshine. I hope it's right.
Christmas decorations and cards are all down, with all the strings of lights boxed up and on the top shelf of the cupboard in the utility - just got to sort out which baubles I am keeping and what will go to the CS in October. I have impressed myself by fitting all the decorations for my 3ft tree fit in a small box rather than a large crate!
The dust is now visible on the LR shelves and DR windowsill, so I must find a cloth to deal with that and also hoover through downstairs before lunch. After that I shall tackle the next batch of photos.
Hope you all have a good day and steer clear of the lurgy, particularly if you've gone back to work today xxx10 -

Morning all (just),
Feels good to be back on a list.Bathroom given a good clean, all levels done.
Towels washed, they may be some time drying as no td here. It is in the plan after all these years of managing without, specifically for towels.Chased up a “we can’t deliver but will let you know” parcel with Land of Lakes. They got onto it and lo and behold, the courier “ found” it and delivered within the hour. Now it may be a coincidence, of course…9 -

WFH today because the slush is deep and wet and there is flooding, but swimming is on so I'll have to brave it.
WM x 1; TD x 1
ETA Good luck with the mammogram Round (you should be called less Round now!) and ladies - and gents - check your boobs! You're looking for lumps but also changes, puckering, anything. Know your normal!

Echoing Valli. Please check your boobs and if you're a bloke, your nuts. I hope the boob-crushing is okay Round.Belovéd's roast beef went down a treat last night and two other sets of neighbours joined us for dessert, cheese, wine and whisky after we'd scoffed it. One of the households has delivered a lemon drizzle cake this morning, which will be eaten before the Christmas cake that another neighbour delivered yesterday. I took him out for breakfast here and they give birthday people a free cake so he's bought a beautiful croissant home to have later.I walked Wren earlier and the Hoe was absolutely beautiful this morning - blue skies, hardly any breeze, lots of sunshine. It's now either hailing or sleeting so I'm glad we got that over and done with earlier.Wordle in five, Connections hopeless - one line only, and Strands without any hints. I like Strands.Books - 13 Shakespeares going to Andy, he can't take anything else as he's bursting at the seams, 24 items of clothing yesterday (in the end the underwear section at the back of the top drawer was rammed full of stuff I never wear any more, but I did find one vest with a built in bra that's really comfortable so I'm wearing that today, and I've decided that the engraved tumblers I gave Belovéd whenever he had a new play on are much nicer than the boring every day supermarket tumblers so six dull glasses are going, and the ones we really like are on the shelf instead. He was worried they might get broken but honestly, he's got at least two dozen and we could always get replacements so it's a real shame to leave them unused in the cupboard. Why not celebrate all his past successes every time we have a drink of water or whatever. We'll take down Christmas decs later, box everything up, shove it up in the attic and I'll clear out another hundred or so things from up there. I'm on a roll here.Better is good enough.10

I am pleased to report that I have won the battle against the Christmas tree - although it put up a good fight, it is now back in its box and tied in firmly with my best Granny knots
Also, bauble tetris turned out to be far more fun (and a lot warmer!) than the freezer variety. Everything that I want to keep including the light bridges has fitted snugly into the single large container; I have gained a storage box for family history stuff which matches the others that I use for the same purpose; and there is one bag to go to the CS next October (cue diary entry) containing 18 larger baubles and a Christmas gift bag. The Christmas lights are like-with-like in the utility.
Now that I've finished my mug of coffee I shall put everything back in the loft for another 11 months, then make sandwiches for lunch with the "Use By 10/01/2025" smoked salmon that was left over from our family day last Monday. Tea will be cauliflower cheese, using cheese from the same pile of leftovers. Nom-nom! Thanks to my DC
My back is aching, so the dusting and hoovering can wait until tomorrow. The sun has come out and everything is sparkly outside, so we can ignore inside.10
