Hi all 👋🏻Back on plan fully today. We used up all the leftover bits of Christmas cheese last at night by topping garlic breads for ‘random cheese pizzas’ I hate waste so DH and I finished off the last 3 mince pies too. That’s it now, only some
biscuits left and some ambient sponge puddings that can go into the cupboard for later.I also did the park run route with DS2. He shot off ahead of me and I went wrong so ended up doing concentric laps to make up the distance. So muddy and slippery- nearly went over twice!B - 40g fruit and fibre, blueberries, Greek style vanilla yog - HEB, S, 1
L - orzo, red onion, red pepper, feta, sundried tomatoes, red wine vinegar - Free, S, HEA, 3
D - mushroom risotto - Free
HEA - milk
Syns - skinny whip 3 plus 4 so 7 total for the day 😊
Welcome @gsdloopy 😊
Glad you got the unit sorted @bubbs. Can only imagine how cold it was!
I’m at a WI committee meeting tonight in my old town. Will drop DS2 at his mates house and DH at the pub en route. Making the most of the fuel costs/round trip!Have a good evening all.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 08/25 Currently reading A Bird In The Hand by Ann Cleeves1 -

(Estimated 2 syn for oil, it was a smaller portion than dinner last night so may have been less)

I bit the bullet and signed with SW, the group was huge with people coming from a neighbouring town as well as a mass influx post Christmas. I have several pounds to lose and have set myself a target of 1.5 lbs for the coming week as well as drastically trying to cut down on gluten/wheat as my digestive system is still very unhappy with me (IBS and post Antibiotics).
Immediate tasks:- update freezer book, food plan for next 3/4 days, make lots of soup and pick up a fruit & veg box, the veggie/fruit man will be at SW venue tomorrow morning and perhaps the egg van too.
Delighted to have the App again, hopefully onward and downward. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)1 -
Good for you @maddiemay - I’m going to try going alone as can’t bear the January group rush (and tbh I’ve spent so much ££££ over the years). I know what I need to do/be mindful of, just need to give my head a wobble. My mum still goes to WW and she’s 82 - just ridiculous.I had a single milk choc Mikado stick plus a Lindt square (individually wrapped wafer) at a committee meeting last night. Can anyone kindly tell me the syns?? TIA X
Quiet day at home today.B - protein bagel, poached egg, 1 tbsp ketchup - HEB, P, 1
L - brown rice, pickles, feta, soy sauce, apple, 2 satsumas - free, S, HEA
D - lamb curry, rice, 1tbsp mango chutney - 3
HEA - milk
Syns - 4 plus a Skinny Whip bar 3 - 7 total
Have a good day everyone.CoxyCross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 08/25 Currently reading A Bird In The Hand by Ann Cleeves0 -
Coxy 11 I’m trying going alone too after spending £££££££s over the years. We can do it 👍
Today I’ve had
breakfast - heb toast, baked beans hea cheese
dinner - ham and mushroom omelette with tomatoes and celery and tablespoon of sauerkraut on the side.tea - chicken, ham and mushroom pie (home made with Christmas leftovers) served with cabbage and mashed potatoes. Again I’m not sure how many syns but they’ll be the only syns I plan today, so I shouldn’t go over. (I’ll only have an inch square piece of pastry to satisfy the craving for the flavour )
I watched an interesting programme lat night on Channel 4 about glucose in the body and the effects. I didn’t see it from the beginning but what I saw gave food for thought. As well as following SW I’m trying to cut back on Ultra processed food. I know I couldn’t cut them out completely as I do like a chunk of chocolate but aiming for 80/20 balance as often as I can.January spends - £587.580 -
I think there are people who go to SW weekly but don't seem to shift much weight. More of a social thing probably and some say they'd be gaining if they didn't go.🤔 I know I could manage to go it alone but I find going to group every 8 weeks just keeps me in line and, of course, maintains access to the website/app.
I get more support from here than I do from my group as checking in daily, when I can, definitely helps.
Unless you made a particularly creamy sauce for the pie @milann, then the only syns will be in the pastry so a small portion will be well within syns. I think the Lindt chocolates you had are 4 syns each @Coxy11 and Mikados are still half a syn.
Which WI days have you both chosen? I think if I had free rein, I'd go for a Friday morning or a Saturday would be even better as it would delay the start of my weekend.🤣
Well done for biting the bullet @maddiemay. Good luck with your 1.5lbs target for the week. 🤞🏼
It's bitterly cold here @bubbs, hope you haven't been freezing in your unit today.🥶
I'm starting to feel a bit less hippo like this week. My next official WI is on 23rd and I've no eating out in the diary until then so should be able to stick to plan. I might call into GP surgery for an unofficial WI before then to check how I'm doing. I've never had scales at home as I know I'd get obsessed (and probably depressed too!😁). The old ones went rusty from lack of use preSW and I've never replaced them. The GP scales are super. I think they introduced them to help combat obesity, they're like the ones in Boots which give you a print out.
We're having lamb chops tonight and there will be some fat but still well within syns. I love the flavour so I'm not going to remove it.😋
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
L- veggie omelette, salad (P,S)
D- lamb hot pot with veg (P,S,F)
Syns- cornflour 1, lamb ?0 -
Meant to ask if you resisted the chocolates @Bluegreen143? I'm not trusting myself yet as I don't think I'd stop at one. 😉0

Thanks for the syn values @maman xx So yesterday I had 11.5 total.
Today's lunch went a bit awry as realised I didn't in fact have any feta left, so the brown rice and pickles were accompanied by 30g mature cheddar. Different flavour and texture but not awful! Same again for lunch tomorrow as I prep two lots at onceI couldn't get any pickled pink onions in A!di. Does anyone know where else they sell them? I've got a B&M and an M&S in the town - might have a look there.
That sounds like an interesting programme @milann - I will look for it on catch up telly. You are right - we've got this lol!!!
ETA my weigh day is Monday morning - I clearly didn't think that through hahahaha
