Morning all, it's a bit grey again this morning but hopefully will brighten up later like it did yesterday.  It's definitely getting cooler and forecast to get even cooler over the coming week.

DH has a hospital appointment at Benenden lunchtime today as the physio at our GP surgery used a scanner on it and discovered a tear in his tendon.  The NHS waiting time is horrendous - he originally had a letter saying to contact the appointments people if he hadn't received an appointment by 24 March and then about 10 days later another letter basically saying don't contact us we'll contact you when we've got an appointment!  It's causing him a lot of pain and he's losing sleep as well so decided to use our Benenden membership to get him seen earlier.  Hopefully they can do something about it fairly quickly.

Good news on the new freezer @bubbs, like @maman says you'll soon have it filled with SW friendly bargains from the Company Shop.  Enjoy your trip there today.

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs, spinach, toast - HEB; P; S
L - at hospital - hoping I can get a jacket potato with beans, failing that it will be a salad (that's the limit of their healthy foods - most of the stuff is sandwiches made with white bread!)
D - LO roast pork, chips, beans, apple sauce

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - apple sauce 2, maybe some at lunchtime but who knows!

    Have a good day everyone.

Coxy I’m jealous of your trip to Whitstable. That’s where some of my close family moved to and I visit several times a year but it’s over 5 hours from here. I absolutely love it there at Christmas. Never enjoy the journey home though……8 hours this Christmas as we were stuck on M25 😳😳 forever.
i walked into town with a friend yesterday and had great intentions of having jacket potato for dinner….most of the cafes shut on a Monday or the ones open had run out of potatoes so I ended up with a cheese and ham toastie - as I was ready to start eating the chair legs I was so hungry 🥴 they were the only syns I’d had all day though. According to the app it could have been anything between 15 and 25 syns depending who was serving it….but I couldn’t find Pausa cafe chain online.
On Sunday we drove into the Peak District and we’re chatting about an ice cream farm we’d seen on Country File catch up that morning. So we were psyched up then for an ice cream. Ds said he knew of a place ten minutes or so drive away so off we went vowing to go to the one we’d seen on tv next time. When we got there it was one and the same place….I wouldn’t have described it where the tv programme said though…..but I suppose it was between where we were and where they said it was near.  The ice cream was well worth the journey and again the only syns I’d have. We came home to eat stewed steak and veg 😁
    Today
breakfast - bacon and beans on toast
dinner - tuna with lettuce, hard boiled eggs, new potatoes and green beans
tea - chilli (with tomatoes, mushroom and peppers) rice, tablespoon of homemade guacamole 2 syns, hea cheese, yoghurt and rice.

    January spends - £587.58

Hi all, had a physio appointment first thing then on to a M&S food shop to pick up a wedding gift I’d ordered at the weekend.

I had strawberries and yoghurt before running out the door this morning and have just demolished a huge bowl of lentil soup. Hamburgers and chips for dinner with left over roasted veggies and more salad.  I’ll use a Warburtons flatbread toasted and pink pickled onions and gherkin slices will heavily feature too 😋🤣

Sun is out so will venture into the garden to start the tidy up and see what pots need cleaned and refilled.

    Hi all,

A chilly afternoon here after a relatively nice morning. DH and I went to the kitchen garden this morning and in a bid to keep warm we topped up some paths with barrows of woodchip and then emptied 2.5 long beds of brussels sprouts. There were still some to harvest including some purple ones, so we bought a few home with us.

I woke in the early hours with a headache which has refused to budge despite pain relief and fresh air. No real progress on my other issue either which is disappointing. I have however had a haircut today at a new to me salon. Lovely girl was very chatty and complimentary about my hair which was nice.

    Food today:
    B - fruit n fibre, blueberries, 0% vanilla yog - HEB, S, 1
L - brown rice bowl, feta, pickled red cabbage, pickled onions/gherkins/red onions, soy sauce - F, HEA, S
D - SW mushroom risotto, apple - free
    HEA - milk
    Syns - skinny bar 4, yog 1 = 5 total

Hope you bagged some goodies at the Company Shop @bubbs x
Wishing all those with medical appointments well x

Hope you managed to find something suitable to eat at lunchtime @joedenise and that Joe got some positive news about physio. Your meal plan must be a mess this week.😁

How lovely to receive compliments about your hair @Coxy11 and to find a decent hairdresser in your new area. I've been going to mine for so many years and while I'm pleased with what she does it would suit me to get somewhere nearer to home. I must bite the bullet. Sorry to hear your headache didn't go away. I wonder if both issues are related?🤔

You enjoyed your syns from the ice cream @milann which is what matters most and I'm sure it would have been a lot more (syns and £££s) if you'd eaten out. As you hadn't had other syns that day or yesterday with the toastie then 🤞🏼you should be fine.

We've not heard from @beanielou for a while. I do hope she's well.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA1 milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
    D- Spaghetti Bolognese (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

Pleased to say I was very good and ended up with an egg salad at the hospital, a few syns for a dribble of salad dressing but it was needed as everything was bone dry!  DH has now got to wait for an appointment for an MRI scan and then he'll go back and see the consultant again after that.  I asked how long it was likely to be before the MRI and he said about 3 weeks - not very helpful as we're away for a week at the end of the month/early April so no doubt it'll be April before he gets the scan and then another couple weeks before the next appointment.  Meanwhile he's got to put up with the pain and lack of movement.

You're right @maman my menu plan is a right mess - it's that messy I've actually rewritten it as I had so many arrows over it I was having trouble working out when we were supposed to be having what!

Morning all, another grey looking day but will need to hang out some washing which I did yesterday afternoon while the sun was shining (using the solar which was being produced!).  Also need to go shopping as didn't go yesterday due to going to the hospital.

Getting GP appointments is quite good where we moved to about 6 months ago (our old GPs we could never get an appointment).  We do an e-consult online and get a call from the surgery the following day - not always a GP but depending on what the problem is they decide who is best placed to deal with the problem.  Very rarely need to actually see anyone as they'll often just prescribe over the phone.  It works really well and doesn't clog up the surgery.

I just thought 3 weeks was a long time for DH's scan as it's a private hospital but we'll see.  Trouble is if it is 3 weeks then we'll be on holiday in Wales.

You did well at the Company Shop @bubbs.  Bet your freezer is well on the way to getting filled now!

    Today's plan:

    B - porridge, fruit - HEB; S; F
    L - Mixed Vegetable soup with lentils - P; S; F
    D - Lightly dusted sole, chips, green beans, peas - P; S; F; 8

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - sole 8

Need a quick dinner tonight as will be out at the 2nd Pre Diabetic course but won't be home until at least 6.15pm so we'll be lucky to eat before about 6.45 or 7pm which is much later than we're used to.

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, very cold here but hoping it brightens up and the sun makes an appearance. Only one load of washing to go out today!

Another busy day with a builder coming to give me a quote for repointing walls and around the house this morning and the boiler being serviced this afternoon.  I too need to fit in a GP appointment. I can’t make appointments in advance at our surgery, you have to phone each morning at 8am for an on the day appointment.

Think I’m going to have toast with jam for breakfast (HEXB and 4 syns), lentil soup for lunch and before I forget will go pull out chicken curry from the freezer to have with rice for dinner.

Great bargains at company shop as usual @bubbs.  I got a small chest freezer for the garage to tide me over until I replace my fridge freezer and it’s going great. It’s not massive but does what I need and I think I’m going to get great use out of it.

    Have a good day everyone.

DH has got his appointments for the MRI scan and also for the follow up appointment with the consultant.  Both of which are when we're supposed to be on holiday - typical!  The MRI isn't too bad as it's the last day of our Wales holiday so we'll just come home the day before.  The consultant appointment however is slap bang in the middle of our France holiday so need to change the ferry booking - no doubt that's going to cost more as the return journey will now be mid July!
