Hi all,
That's annoying about the wait @joedenise and oh wow to your gynae appointment wait time @bubbs. Hope you can get your shoulder seen to soon x You got some good bargains yesterday!
Yes @maman you could be correct in thinking my issues are linked. Headache finally subsided around 9pm last night after copious amounts of water/squash (did not have a cup of tea until after dinner) and 3 lots of pain relief. Still no real progress but weirdly I'm not so uncomfortable today.
ILs have been up this morning to deliver some bluebells and muscari for our garden. We took them to visit the community allotment too. No-one there this morning.
Food today:
B - puffed wheat, blueberries, 0% vanilla yog - HEB, S, 1
L - brown rice, feta, pickled red cabbage, pickled onions, chilli gherkins, pink pickled onions, soy sauce - Free, HEA, S
D - SC chilli con carne with rice - free
HEA - milk
Syns - skinny bar 4 plus 1 so 5 total
Have a good day everyone

The waits for hospital appointments are just horrendous. Hope you manage to get the appointments and holidays sorted. I’ve been quite lucky as an nhs patient at private hospital, it really makes a difference seeing the same doctor every time. That said I had a message from them a few weeks back telling me about my upcoming treatment. I’ve had this treatment many times before (steroid injection) but never had the info sent out. But there was no date when the treatment would be. Worried I might have missed a letter in the post I phoned hospital and after much chasing around ended up with consultant’s secretary who told me the injection should have been that afternoon. NOBODY had turned up so full team of medical staff were sat twiddling their thumbs in surgery. Appointment letters hadn’t been sent out to patients 😳😳 so it’s not only the nhs that mess up 🥴 I have a new appointment for next week 👍
Some bargainous ice cream there 😃
I picked and nibbled all day yesterday and am so mad with myself….I’m always the same when I’m in the house all day. My meals were fine but I just kept visiting the fridge 😩 in between jobs and ironing. I need to make sure I’ve got free food to pick on. Some of my pickings were from the fruit bowl but I need to keep track of what’s not...
Today I was out with friends.
Breakfast - 4 syns for butter. heb toast with egg
dinner out - jacket potato, cheese, beans and salad. Latte and cheese I’m counting as 2 hea although I know I shouldn’t as they weren’t weighed.
Tea - a tiny corner of fish no batter and 6 chips. Dh brought them in and I couldn’t resist.
Again because I’ve not eaten at home it’s been hard to count syns but if I’ve gone over it shouldn’t be by too much.Weigh in at group tomorrow so the truth will out 😁 whatever I’ve eaten it’s less than a couple of weeks ago so that’ll do for me 😀👍January spends - £587.580 -
Morning all, another bitterly cold day but the sun’s out so of course, washing is swishing away in the machine. My neighbour says we are either really clean or very dirty as we chat over the wall almost every morning hanging washing up 🤣
Ive joined the declutterring thread but think I need to cool my jets 😂 I need to remember to buy more black bin bags when I’m out. It has stopped me raiding the fridge though!Managed to get a GP appointment this morning so heading off shortly. Will have fruit and yoghurt when I get back, the last of the lentil soup for lunch and a baked potato with chilli and salad for dinner. For once there’s plenty of fruit to snack on if I need it.
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all,
A bit grey and chilly here too @Jellybaby. Glad you are able to get to see you GP today. I asked to transfer mine to our new area in January - received a text from old GP practice asking "was this you requesting the change?" but haven't heard from new GP that it's actually been done. Will give them a call later to see if I'm now a patient. DH and DD haven't done theirs yet but they are adults and can do it themselves! So annoying to waste a team of professionals' time @milann. Glad you won't have too long a wait for the injection.
I can empathise with the pickyness when home alone. DH was out last night so DD and I watched Bridgerton together and I kept away from the snacks
Food today:
B - 2 x WM toast, scraping of marg, marmalade, apple - HEB, 3, S
L - orzo pot, sundried tomatoes, feta, red/yellow pepper, red onion, red wine vinegar - F, 3, HEA, S
D - SW easy chicken curry with rice - free
HEA - milk
Syns - 6

Well wonders will never cease. 😮😀 I lost 1 lb so maybe I wasn’t quite as picky as I thought I had been. I also got joint slimmer of the week - I’m not sure how - but I’ll happily take it. I did ask if it was right and consultant said she likes to reward consistency. It’s only my 3rd week there 🤣 I came back with a haul of 2 cans beans, 2 tinned tomatoes, 3 cans of tuna, green mint tea bags, a box of hifi bars, a packet of garlic crackers, and a couple of spice packs of seasoning. A kiwi, banana and apple 😃
I was a bit discombobulated when I first found I’d ‘only’ lost 1lb as I wanted another 1/2 to get in the next stone bracket but when I stopped to think about it…..if I ‘ only’ lose 1lb a week I could be at target for my wedding anniversary the first week in August….then we can go for a lovely romantic meal 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Jellybaby and Coxy…..hope you both go on ok with the GPs.January spends - £587.581 -
Well done on the loss @milann and slimmer of the week, that’s quite a haul 😁
Forgot I was meeting my friend for lunch. Had a flatbread with chicken tikka and salad and will have the soup or baked potato later depending on how hungry I am. There’s obviously syns in the flatbread, some for oil on the chicken but it is what it is.
Quickest GP appointment ever, in and out in less than six minutes.

Afternoon all, not much done today other than a visit to the garden centre for our free drinks - I was good and had a pot of tea; DH as usual had a luxury hot chocolate complete with squirty cream and mini marshmallows!
Decided to pop in the big Tesco's next door to do the weekend shopping as they sell their own brand diet tonics which I like (they're big cans and can get 2-3 drinks out of each one and are 1/3 price of Schweppes Diddy cans!)
Got home and after a black coffee had some lunch. We then got rid of some old compost from some of the pots and DH made an appointment for the tip to get rid of it so needed to pop down into town for 2-2.30 so not much time between lunch and going out yet again.
Now sitting down with a 0% G&T.
Forgot to say I have to weigh every time I go to the pre-diabetes course and pleased to say that I was STS even after the sinful weekend I had so looks like I might have pulled it back a bit but will see tomorrow when I have my "proper" WI (Kgs for the course - I'm still old fashioned enough to prefer stones and pounds!).
Well done on your loss and SOTW @milann. You obviously didn't pick as badly as you thought you had. Stick to it this week in case it tries to catch up with you! Good luck for this week that you'll get into the next stone bracket.
A very quick GP visit @Jellybaby but assume that didn't include any waiting time! If it was just with the GP then I've had appointments that quick - they don't seem to want to spend any time with you if they can avoid it. Having said that neither DH nor I have actually seen a Dr since we changed surgeries!
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - Welsh rarebit, pickled onions - HEA2; P; S; F
D - Thai prawn curry, brown rice - P; S; F; 2?
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - Thai curry sauce 2 (will only be using a Tbs of Sharwood's if someone can check syns for me please)
Weather not too good - it was bitterly cold first thing, warmed up a bit once the sun came out and now it's raining on and off!

Well done on your loss @milann and the SoW award!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I'm sure you can get to target even before your anniversary. Keeping SW friendly snacks in the house is definitely a way forward.
My off plan birthday yesterday worked out better than anticipated on the SW front. I had a SW breakfast (fry up) and a favourite lunch (JP with prawns). DD came round and we had birthday cake and candles. It was a delicious M&S coffee and walnut cake so I really enjoyed a slice. In the evening, they'd unfortunately run out of the salmon pasta in a creamy sauce that I'd planned so had a delicious, chunky piece of hake instead with vegetables and gravadlax to start. Most of that was very low syn but did have gorgeous Italian wine and a couple of teaspoons of DH's tiramisu. I had to show willing as they'd brought that out with a candle on too!😁
Anyway, I really enjoyed my day. I'm back on plan today but there is some cake left so thinking whether to have some or let DH finish it off.🤔
It's a bit dull here and colder but not too bad. We did get out for a walk and coffee this morning.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S), HEA1 milk for drinks
L- lentil soup (P,S), ham salad (P,S)
D- Austrian ham hash (P,F,S, HEA2 cheese topping) with cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower (S)
Syns- probably 0
