Morning all, it's lovely and bright but absolutely freezing cold and quite windy. Washing is on the line and blowing nicely so no reason for it not to dry (as long as the forecast possible showers don't happen!).
Good luck for WI @Jellybaby and @bubbs. No doubt you'll both get a loss! Don't think I said yesterday but I actually got a very small loss of 0.3lb which is better than I'd expected after being away for the weekend. Decided on a bottle of white wine between us last night. Am I right in thinking that's 18 syns for half bottle?
Today's plan:
B - bacon and mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 2
L - hot smoked salmon and baby potato salad - P; S; F; 1
D - lamb and chickpea tagine, couscous - P; S; F; 2
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 2; LTL mayo 1; semi dried apricots 1.5; flaked almonds 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

It's been a while, I spent last night reading the last thread from where I last posted and this morning catching up on this thread.
It's been an 'interesting' end to last year and the start of this, I finally got my surgery date through for the 9th December, went for my pre op in November and I had exceeded the target that had been set at the beginning of May (to lose 2 stone, I had lost 2 stone 4lbs at the pre op appointment). I then had to go on a liver shrinkage diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery which consisted of only semi skimmed milk and yoghurts.
Oh my word, it was absolutely horrendous! My body did not like it at all and it caused no end of issues and on top of that, most people lose loads of weight on it but because it was higher in calories than my normal daily allowance (and actually was more than my pre weight loss plan calorie intake), it was the most frustrating, blooming annoying diet ever. It started off ok for the first couple of days and then it just became an exercise in swearing at the scales, feeling bloody awful and becoming really quite drained and weak.
The day of the operation dawned and I already knew that it was planned to be an overnight stay due to my pre existing disabilities. I was there 5 days, there were complications during the surgery when my gallbladder burst, my bloods became deranged and an infection set in. I completely lost my mobility, there hadn't been a great deal before but I had at least been able to wobble my way to the loo with walking aids but it went, I couldn't even move my legs in the bed let alone get out on my own or stand. On top of the lost mobility, my health went completely to pot too.
I ended up back in hospital as an emergency on Christmas eve, widespread inflammation in my abdominal cavity, inflammation in my lungs and appendix, infections spread throughout my abdomen...and I was pretty much out of it, unconscious.
I am still on the long road to recovery, slowly gaining strength and health. My mobility has improved a little with home physio input but I still get tired very quickly and bash out and my neuro condition is off the scale. I also now have carers coming in to help with personal needs.
On the weight front, I ate complete crap for the first 7 weeks, I wasn't in control of what was being purchased or cooked and most of it was not at all weight loss friendly so I dreaded getting on the scales. I was over the moon to find out I had only gained 3lbs.
I'm still on plan (my own home one that doesn't involved syns after leaving SW over a year ago) and still going down. That 3lb gain was gone in the first week back on plan and despite some self sabotaging weeks, the weight is still going in the right direction.
Mind you, I'm not sure if I will ever be able to eat a yoghurt again, even now the mere sight of one makes me heave.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Oh @SingleSue you really have been through the wars - so sorry to hear of all that you've gone through these past few months. I'm glad that you are back on track and have home support. When Mullerlights were free (back in the green and red days) I OD'd on them and couldn't look at one for years. I'm a bit better now though. Please keep posting and updating us with how you're getting on xx
I had toast with a scraping of marg and some HM (not by me!) marmalade for breakfast. Mum and I went to a jumble sale - got there 20 minutes before it opened and there was a queue of at least 10!! My aunt and my cousin also turned up with two littlies. It was a bit of a family outing!! I just got 2 books and a plant pot for the grand sum of £2! We went for a coffee afterwards and the cafe only had big cakes (like Vic sponge etc.) or pastry sausage rolls. I had a sausage roll so gawd knows how many syns but I enjoyed it.
We have been invited to a neighbours 'garden pub' for the rugby. DH is out with his schoolmates today and has asked me and DD to go so we get invited back another time, so I'll have a couple of rum n pep$i max's. Will just watch the England match then come home for steak, peas, flat mushroom mmmmm
Have a good day all

@SingleSue - that's sounds absolutely horrendous. So pleased that you are on the mend and that being back on plan your are moving in a downward direction. Please look after yourself and keep posting.
Enjoy the England match @Coxy11. The steak dinner sounds good.

Evening all, life is a bit 💩 at the moment! Hubby has another infection in his line 🙄 not sepsis this time though 🤞🏻. Not in hospital but does have to go to kidney centre for intravenous ‘strong’ antibiotics for 2 weeks. Along side this I have been overwhelmed with workload (so many children with home life issues 😢) I’m having trouble processing everything 🥺. I’m not the only one!
Long story short, another lb on 😤 I just seem to feel hungry all the time so reaching for fast rubbish 😤
Sorry for the moan! Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Evening all,
The yoghurt diet sounds awful @SingleSue and you’ve had some time of it but hope you’re on the mend.
Look after yourself @TakeItEazy you’ve a lot on your plate at the moment.
Sorry about the gain @bubbs but you’ll get it off next week. I lost 3.5 this morning and was over the moon. I’m now having wine after a day of looking at cars with DS2 so will have to be careful I don’t drink it back on!I only had a ham salad roll, banana and coffee before heading out this morning and starving now. Dinner is my favourite homemade meatballs, tomato sauce with spaghetti and Parmesan 😁0 -
Oh TIE you don't have things easy 😪Look after youself

Thanks for posting @SingleSue. You've had such a tough few months, I'm amazed that you're still keeping going on the weightloss. Well done you! 👍 I'm sure it will help your health and mobility overall.
Sending you a big hug @TakeItEazy.🤗 Far better a gain than the losses you didn't want a few weeks ago. Hope your DH responds to the antibiotics. 🤞
Well done on your great loss @Jellybaby and hope you have enjoyed the meatballs. 😋
Boo to your gain @bubbs. Probably more to do with the lack of syns rather than the liquorice. 🤔
Hope you enjoyed the rugby @Coxy11, more than I did. ❤️🏴
I think you may have over estimated on the wine @joedenise. If you put just white wine into the app, it comes up high (33.5 syns) but it depends on the alcohol content. My 12.5% Sauvignon Blanc is 27 syns and prosecco is 24 (10.5%).
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs (P), baked beans (F)
L- JP (F), tuna (P), salad (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), stir fry veg (S)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, half Crunchie 3, weekend wine 😁

Morning all, another bright but very cold day. Have done another load of washing and it's out on the line but not blowing nicely like yesterday but hopefully it will still dry.
Thanks for the info re the white wine @maman - we're usually red wine drinkers so thought white would only be about half syn less per glass but looks like it's much better than that. Perhaps I'll have to start drinking white more often! Will have to check what alcohol content it was (I've got another bottle to check!).
@TakeItEazy - Do hope your DH responds well to the antibiotics. I wouldn't worry about a gain after all the losses you've had recently. Just look after yourself and your DH. SW can wait.
I agree with @maman @bubbs you probably didn't have enough syns - you never seem to have anywhere near the 15 a day you're allowed more like 15 a week! Try and up your syns a bit this week and see if you can shift that gain. I assume you're still in target range? Personally I'd just like to get back into it - it's been more than a year since I was last in range but holidays and weekends away keep getting in the way! Really hope I can shift a bit over the next couple of weeks as that's when we go on holiday again!
That was a great loss @Jellybaby. You'll soon lose that holiday gain which for the length of your holiday wasn't too bad. I can easily gain that in a couple of weeks never mind 7 weeks!
Today's plan:
B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
L - burger, onions, gherkin slices, soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - gammon, roast potatoes, veg - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5; couple of G&Ts 6
Have a good day everyone.
