It sounds as if you had an awful time Single Sue…well done on keeping the weightloss going. The yoghurt diet sounded horrendousTakeiteasy….hope your Dh improves soon…..a very stressful time for you.
Hope the antibiotics work for you and you feel better soon Mamam.
Not sure where time has gone I seem to have been very busy with not much to show for it.
im at the hospital later for a steroid injection….not looking forward to it but it’s usually worth the discomfort in the long run.I’ve been very hit and miss this week….taken my eye off the ball. I’ve been out quite a lot but doing what I can when I’m at home. Going to make some soup to eat before I go as my appointment is at 1 pm so a silly time.
Today I’ve had
breakfast - hea and heb beans and cheesy toast.
dinner. Veg soup……potatoes, leeks, onion, celery and carrots with lentils too.
tea - left over roast pork dinner 5 syns
snacks- chocolate 3 syns, fruitJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Afternoon all, a lovely day today and nowhere near as cold as it has been - I even went out with a very light jacket on and didn't need to do it up, could have got away with not wearing a jacket at all. The bedding is out on the line and looks to be dry but I'll leave it another hour or so before I get it in. Just need to get the bed remade this afternoon once DH has finished mucking about outside!
Many thanks for the strawberries tarts recipe @bubbs. I wonder if it would work with crumbled weetabix rather than the wheat bran (not something I buy!). Is it both jellies rather than just half as I usually make up half and make 4 small jellies to have with fruit and yoghurt at 0.5 syns each?
As we keep saying on here SW has to work around your life not your life work around SW @milann. The other saying we like is Good when I Can and Careful when I can't!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, bread and butter (was supposed to be toast but I forgot to put the bread in the toaster!) - HEB; P;2
L - sweet chilli noodles with salad bits and prawns - P; S; F; 3
D - pork stroganoff, bulgar wheat - P; S; F; HEA2
HEA1- milk
HEA2 - Primula Light
Syns - LF spread 2; sweet chilli sauce 3;
Have a good day everyone.

They're 4 syns per square @Coxy11. That seems quite high for a sweet hit to me but fine if you like them. My go to on the occasions I fancy chocolate is the 70% cocoa from Aldi. They're 7 syns for a 25g bar but half or less is usually enough so I suppose the salted caramel things aren't too bad as they're 24g each.
It's glorious here as well @joedenise. I went out for a walk and coffee this morning and only wore a short jacket too. I think it's staying nice most of the week. I read that the south of England is due to be warmer than Ibiza on Thursday!😎
Hope the injection helps @milann. I've never had one myself but I'm told the pain relief they give can be worth it. Just do your best with SW, that's all you can do. It's much easier when you're eating at home and in control of your menu. That's why I choose to follow the plan whenever I can to leave leeway for when I'm eating out. I think the books say you can have extra syns or HEXs when you're at target but I've never done that.
Thanks for the good wishes, I'm feeling much better today. No queasiness after today's pill so who knows what caused it yesterday. My cough has subsided massively too so hope I'm on the mend.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, bacon, eggs (P), baked beans (F), HEA1 milk
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
D- spaghetti with turkey meatballs in tomato sauce (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns- 00 -
Evening all 😁
Glad you are feeling better Maman.
Denise, it's half of the double pack, so 1 pack, yes but you are only making 100ml up and adding gelatine. You would still need to cook it, what about whizzing oats and using them if you have them?
Been a lovely day here, my towels blew nicely on the line was dry within an hr! Was a really hard frost though.
Took my car in today £536 😪😪😪 the motor has gone in my wipers , should get it back tomorrow
Well i tried to get an appointment at the doctors, i was online at 7am! drumroll please...............APRIL 1st, What an April fools that it is and that's just a telephone appointment, if i have many nights like last night i'll be dead with exhaustion by then through lack of sleep!

The injection went well…..it’s usually in one of the theatres with about 5 staff which always seems a bit overkill to me. Today it was just the consultant and radiographer in an x ray room. Apparently the consultant put mega complaints in when no appointments had been sent out to his patients a few weeks ago so they found him the X-ray room as the theatre was fully booked for weeks ahead. its a private hospital but I’m an NHS patient. It’s not pleasant having them done but because I always see the same doc we have a bit of a laugh and joke. They recommend resting for 48 hours…..pottering is allowed but nothing too strenuous. I don’t need telling twice 😂😂😂I tasted my veg soup and it was a bit lack lustre and quite sweet…..so I added garlic and more salt with just a few herbs and reduced it down by 1/3. It ended up rather delicious. I usually use chicken but I’m trying to be more cost conscious. Plus a friend has asked me to her house for meals and she is veggie so I want to try some veggie meals as I need to return the invite. I did end up putting a couple of chicken oxo in today too so it’s not for her this time. I have got the va va veg sw book so I’ll try some of those before I ask her.I was feeling sorry for myself when I got home from the hospital so started snacking and was then cross at myself. When I totted up - I’d not actually gone that much over.I need to get back to recording food …….ive slipped since the last weigh in.
Love the picky plates Bubbs.Glad your feeling better MamanJanuary spends - £587.580 -
Morning all, been AWOL the last few days. DS2 sold his car at the weekend and thankfully found a new one but doesn’t get it until Friday. So guess who’s up at 5.30am to take him to work 😳🙈 minus 2 when I went out to defrost the car this morning!Anyway, on plan apart from yesterday afternoon. I was in Glasgow picking up a birthday gift for my friend and was absolutely starving waiting for the train home. I realised I hadn’t eaten anything since breakfast at 7 and this was 2.30. Grabbed a chicken salad sandwich from M&S but only ate half as I really didn’t enjoy it. Don’t think I want to know what the syns are 🤣🤣
I’m about to have some fruit and yoghurt for breakfast and I’ve taken the last portion of tomato and red pepper soup out the freezer for lunch. Chicken fajitas for dinner and I’ll use WW wrap for HEXB and a few syns in the seasoning as I’m using up a packet. Plenty of fruit to snack on.
Now to read back and catch up on all your news. Hope you are all well x0 -
Morning all,
Thanks for checking the syn value @maman. Does seem a lot given they are tiny and very ‘airy’ but I’ve bought them so they will be eaten. In fact I’m taking one with us today as we are going to a NT property and are taking a flask of black coffee with us. Will take a choc bar for DH too. This is one of the bugbears with not being a SW member and not having the app. Mind you, it rarely worked in SMs anyway due to poor signal!
Food today:
B - toasted protein thin bagel, scraping of light Philly, apple - HEB, 1, S
L - ?? as out, Fibre Now bar - 4
D - spicy chilly turkey noodles - free
HEA - milk
Syns - 4 but will depend on lunch options. Hoping for a JP!!@Jellybaby that’s so early and so cold! Glad it’s only for a short while.Cross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill0 -
Morning all, it's another bright day today but no idea what the temperature is as not been outside yet! There's no breeze so hopefully won't feel too bad.
Thanks for the suggestion to use blitzed oats @bubbs; will definitely give that a go but until after our holiday as already have my plan until we go! Looks like the syns for the jelly have gone up a lot - it used to be 1.5 syns for both halves of the jelly so syncing at 1 syn for half.
@Jellybaby - as you're running your DS to work I think he's the one who should be outside scraping the windscreen not you!!! Glad it's only for a few days though and the temperatures seem to be moving upwards now.
Enjoy your trip to the NT place @Coxy11 and good luck with finding a JP!
Today's plan:
B - baked carrot cake oats - HEB; S; F; 2.5
L - spicy carrot and lentil soup - P; S; F
D - toad in the hole, roast pots, veg - S; F; 6.5
HEA - milk
HEB - oats
Syns - 15g sultanas 2.5; sausages 2; flour 4.5
Have a good day everyone.0
