Morning all, it's beautiful here too @Coxy11 but then I'd expect it to be seeing as we live fairly close!  Another machine load of washing on the line which I had out there before 8am.  It really helps doing the washing in the afternoon using the solar rather than waiting until we're producing enough in the morning.  Long may it continue although looks like we've got a bit of cloudy weather coming next week.

Bet you'll be glad to get the training out of the way @Coxy11.  I used to hate online training, in fact I didn't really like any of the training as quite often it was stuff I'd already been doing.  The worst example was when I'd been in post for over 10 years and HR wanted me to go on a telephone training course - I had obviously been using a telephone for far longer than the time in that post - fortunately my boss agreed and told HR where to go (I couldn't exactly say it but he did!)

You say our Drs system isn't good @maman but it's far better than our old surgery where you needed to phone at 8.45am but could never get through as it was permanently engaged.  If you got through before 9am you might get an appointment but usually not and told to phone back in the afternoon at 3.15 and you'd go through the same again.  I could sometimes take a couple of weeks before getting an appointment which was why we changed surgeries.  Would have done it a couple of years earlier but unfortunately they were only taking on patients who didn't already have a GP on the island so when we heard they were taking on all new patients we went for it and so glad we did.  One day is far better than 2 weeks!

    Today's plan:

    B - mushroom omelette - P; S
    L - LO spicy carrot and lentil soup - P; S; F
D - beef crumble, mash, green veg - HEB; 0.5 HEA2; P; S; F (new to me recipe from PON)

    HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese (2 HEAs so 0.5 HEA per portion)
HEB - oats (the crumble is 4 HEBs so 1 per portion)

Instead of flour I've blitzed about 3/4 of the oats to make flour and left the rest as is.  Will let you know tomorrow whether it's a keeper or a one off!

    Have a good day everyone.

Lost another 1 lb this morning. I honestly wasn’t expecting it as I’d stopped writing things down and have eaten out 3 times. I’m over the moon with that cos it’s 3 losses in a row. I usually get 2 then put on. I need to weigh in a day earlier next week as we’re off to Pembrokeshire in Millie Motorhome. That’ll test my reserve. I always go with the best intentions and take lots of SW food with me but we usually end up eating out and about. I’m hoping we might get a bit of sunshine but it’s too far off to know yet.
I walked home this morning and it was great….the steroid injection has done its stuff 😀 I walked through our little wildlife park and which was coming to life (if you closed your ears to the motorway sound at the edge of it) hearing the birds and seeing a beautiful bright yellow butterfly fluttering from bush to bush lifted the spirits 😁
One of the advantages of being retired is no online training 😀😀😀😀 I hated it with a vengeance.

Well done @milann on your lb loss, even better when you weren't expecting it.

We're off to North Wales for a week next weekend but not in the motorhome.  Decided because of the distance it worked out cheaper to hire a caravan than to drive there in the motorhome - would need a lot a fuel and being an old van only does about 18 miles to the gallon!  Then site fees on top of that so it was a no brainer to hire.

We're off to Canterbury again for the weekend and like you we'll end up eating out even though I'm taking stuff for our meals but usually it's just lunch and I try and pick something SW friendly.  Need to be careful with what we take though as the fridge has decided to pack up on gas so will be using lots of ice packs and some of the food I'm taking will be frozen to use Saturday night.  Only fresh will be a couple of salmon fillets for tomorrow night plus things like potatoes.  Frozen veg will just be in a bag ready to use so they'll probably have defrosted and take a bit less time to cook!

Well done on your loss @milann. Really pleased for you!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Hopefully you'll have another good week and keep up your run of losses.🤞🏼

I've heard that about some JPs too but it's always my go to light lunch when I need to eat out. I'd have thought a NT property would be safe as they do try to offer healthy options....and cakes!🤣

Let us know how that beef crumble works out @joedenise. We really enjoyed our savoury mince last night, I'll definitely be making more.😋 Where are you staying in North Wales?🤔

    Good luck for tomorrow @Coxy11.🤗

We're out for dinner with friends tonight at a country pub. They usually have some good fish dishes and vegetables on the menu but, as I don't have to go to WI for a while, I might choose a pie or something else that's not particularly SW friendly. It's only one meal though. I've had my porridge with fruit this morning, ham with a LO vegetable hash for lunch and I'll be back on plan tomorrow.👍🏼

Morning all, up a bit earlier than usual this morning so decided to come on here first thing.  It's a bit grey at the moment but forecast to brighten up later and warm again.  Will load the motorhome fridge just before we go and hope for the best that nothing spoils - if things get bad then we can always just eat out or come back home as it's not far - only about an hour.

The beef crumble was OK but all that chopping was very time consuming.  I think it could have done with a bit more oomph, maybe some chilli flakes or something in the mixture.  Will I make it again - probably not but of course we'll eat the LOs.  It actually made 6 not 4 portions so taking one with us for lunch today and another has gone in the freezer to have next month sometime.

@maman - we're going to Greenacres Caravan Park, a Haven site, at Porthmadog.  Never been to North Wales before - in fact we've only holiday'd at Barry Island when the kids were little many moons ago!  I went to Swansea for work back in the early 90s and went to Mumbles in the evening so don't really know much about Wales.  Which part do you come from?

That's a great price for pork shoulder @bubbs.  If we weren't going away (and the freezer not so full) I'd have been tempted.  Really need to use up some of the stuff in there.  Was hoping to get a side of salmon at Easter, assuming somewhere's got a good deal on it, for DH to smoke.

Pleased to say I lost lb this week and am finally back in target - first time since last January!  Only by about 0.5lb but at least I'm back.

    Today's plan:

    B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
    L - LO beef crumble, veg - HEB; 0.5 HEA; P; S
    D - jerk salmon, rice, salad - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - oats
    Syns - wine or G&Ts

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Joe Denise we’re staying at Greenacres in a few weeks…Haven do some great offers at this time of year. It’s a Haven we’re going to in Pembrokeshire next week. I don’t think I’d like to go in school holidays when it’s mega busy but pre season we’ve been to various sites. We might finish the holiday with a night at Port  (sp) …..it’s expensive but should be good. Will see what the weather is like nearer the time. There is a fantastic train ride from Porthmadog through Snowdonia…..again expensive but the views are amazing on a clear day.
Breakfast- hea and b beans and cheese on toast.
dinner - veg soup and a banana
tea- lentil dhal, chicken with korma seasoning, rice and green beans in tamarind. Approx 6 syns  for the lot
    January spends - £587.58

Congratulations on getting back into target range @joedenise. 👏👏👏

Well done on staying to the end @Coxy11. Seems like your colleagues enjoy Poet's day. 😁 You could have had your breakfast on the way home and saved some syns! 🤣

I used to go to a lovely Haven place in Cornwall @milann, now sold off for development. ☹️

I come from Swansea @joedenise. I has a lovely flat in Mumbles before I met DH and moved here. ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

I don't know North Wales as well but had a holiday there a few years ago. DH has a brother that lives just over the border from Chester. Definitely visit Portmeirion and we also went to Harlech Castle plus the railway that @milann suggested . On the way, Shrewsbury and Ludlow are worth a look around.

I did have a chicken and leek pie last night plus mayo in prawn cocktail but back on plan today.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs, ham (P), tomatoes (S)
    L- JP (F), chilli (P, S), pickled red cabbage (S)
D- sausages, patatas bravas (F, S), medley of green stuff, mushrooms (S)
Syns - BGTY sausages 2, weekend wine 😁
