    Hope it is ok Bubbs
Sts this morning, bit disappointed but think I have taken my eye off the bull this last week
want to concentrate and lose next week as I am away to Cornwall for 4 days the week after and I know I will gain !
  • Bubbs hopefully you won't need it but if you do there is a women only Facebook page

They have just reached their 1000 members, I joined 6ish years ago when OH was diagnosed, he's still going strong!

Having a better SW week, actually counting syns! Sainsburys had a 0% rhubarb and ginger gin on offer for £10 which I bought to try, 50ml for 1/2 syn with Aldi tin of light tonic, also 1/2 syn, very acceptable drink with ice and a slice for 1 syn.

SW fry up for breakfast and OH in charge of lunch which will probably be about 4pm.

Today is our first Sunday of half price electricity between 11 and 4 with British Gas so got washing machine, dishwasher and slow cooker on. Will report back with saving £££.

Afternoon all, got back a couple of hours ago and got a load of washing done.  Not hanging it out until tomorrow as weather not brilliant.  Hoping it will be better tomorrow although haven't actually checked yet!  Will be another load tomorrow.  Also want to get the van bedding done before we go away as well as our bedding so the washing machine is going to be working overtime for the next few days!

We had a really good weekend but unfortunately the menu planning I did didn't get stuck to!  So a not too SW friendly weekend food wise.  Will try to stick to low syn for the rest of the week and hope for another small loss before going away and be a bit further into target range 🤞.

Well done to all the losers - I never say only a half @bubbs because as you know it's what I used to lose virtually every week getting to target!

Sorry to hear about your DH @bubbs but at least he'll be seen very quickly and it is one of the most treatable cancers.

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger, onion, gherkin slices, soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
D - LO beef crumble; new potatoes, green veg - P; S; F (told you the menu plan didn't get stuck to!)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2(part) - cheese
    HEB - soft pitta
    Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5; oats 1.5

    Have a good day everyone.

    Afternoon all .

Thanks everyone, what gets me/us though is the fact he has had a prostate problem for a few yrs and is medication for it, the only reason he has had the PSA test is because they wouldn't not renew his medication for his knew without a blood test, so he asked for it to be done, so without him asking and still no check up he would not have known!

Yes Denise i know you did 😁😁

We had some torrential rain last night, 7 this morning next door go on flood alert 🤨 we have not had rain for weeks!

    Food today
Picky plate, less than 0.5 syn for some coleslaw i made .

Roast beef, veg, gravy 4 syns, yorkies 2 syns

Congratulations on you losses @bubbs, @TakeItEazy and @Jellybaby. They all count, however big or small!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

STS is definitely better than a gain @Suffolksue but you're right, you should try and grasp that 'bull' by both horns and try to stay on plan whenever you can to offset things like your trip to Cornwall when scones with jam (first) and cream is the law.😁

Belated birthday wishes @TakeItEazy. Did you have cake?🤔

Hope you enjoyed your time with your friends and neighbours @Coxy11 and got away without too many syns.

We have that cheap electricity with British Gas on Sundays too @Wilmaknickersfit. It's all worth it but you won't make your fortune!🤣 I've tried 0%gin in the pub and @joedenise drinks it too. It really does taste authentic. I'll buy some at some point but have plenty of the hard stuff at home at the moment.

Some GPs aren't keen on using the PSA test routinely because it can be unreliable @bubbs so it's fortunate that your DH got his blood test because of his knee medication. I know the 14 day pathway is scary but as it means he'll get checked out quickly then it's got to be worth it.🤞🏼

Is your DH onside with SW @Wilmaknickersfit? I was just wondering whether he'll cook something SW friendly for lunch. My DH does breakfast every day, I do dinner and we do our own thing at lunchtime. When I started SW, I gave him a list of  SW breakfasts and he's happy to have the same but he does make some tweaks for himself like his own sugary muesli.

Yesterday's food was relatively high syns for me as we had stir fry with honey for dinner and a large spring roll with it.😋

I batch cooked some meatballs and I did more savoury mince in the SC yesterday, made 4 meal portions for the freezer and kept some out for my lunches.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S)
L- savoury mince and LO veg (P,S,F)
D- roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many vegetables (S)
Syns- HM gravy 4, weekend wine😁

Thank you Maman & no cake was consumed (or offered for that matter!) 😇
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

    Heartbroken 12.12.13
  • @mamanOH doesn't follow SW but apart from using quite a bit of olive oil (which is at least healthy) he uses mostly SW type ingredients. I try not to worry too much as he cooks a max of twice a week and I don't want to discourage him! His downfall is wine and desserts.

Well the verdict is in on the BGas half price electricity, saved 29p which is better than nothing.

Syns yesterday gin n tonic 1
    After eight 2
Fat on beef short rib ?

Morning all, it’s a beautiful sunny day although very cold. Still nice to see some sun!

Went a bit - OK quite a way! - off plan yesterday. I met a few friends in town and one thing led to another with food and cocktails being enjoyed. Line drawn again 😀

Just a bit of pottering around the house planned today. Had bran flakes HEXB with strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast, baked potato with cheese and salad for lunch and prawn stir fry with noodles planned for dinner. Don’t usually have noodles so will need to check for any syns.

    Have a good day everyone.

A new week and I suspect most of us are reining back after the weekend.🤣

Well done for not having cake for your birthday @TakeItEazy. At least your DH does listen sometimes.😁

Unless they really need to lose weight themselves @Wilmaknickersfit, I suspect most DHs have SW meals and then add in extra treats. My DH has most of his at lunchtimes when he'll have a sandwich followed by a slice of cake. When we eat out he'll regularly have a pudding whereas I don't. I suspect he might be a bit stricter with himself soon as he'll decide he needs to lose weight before wearing his swimming shorts on holiday. The other time is around Christmas when he wants to get into his dinner suit!😁

You could be OK with noodles @Jellybaby. I'm currently using Tesco wholewheat dried ones and they're free as are most dried ones. The straight to wok pouches vary a lot.

Not decided which meat to have with my lunch as I've got a choice of chicken, ham and some LO beef.🤔

    Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- meat (P), LO veg (F,S), probably pickles (S)
D- cold chicken (P), SW chips (F), roast veg, tenderstem broccoli (S)
    Syns- 0

    Morning all (just!),

Quick check in to say I lost 2lb last week - don't get excited as this is the 2lb I put on the week before. I'm now exactly 1st over my target weight so a lot of work still to do.

My weekend was busy - JL cafe VERY disappointing as lacked both SW choices and actually any choices left at 1pm(!) so ended up with kale and pumpkin quiche - tiny slice (probably for the best) with a few leaves and a water. Had a Chinese takeaway with the whole family last night for DH's birthday later this week.

I'm in the office today and have just had a training course. Ate my overnight oats from Friday for breakfast and have an orzo pot for lunch with an apple and blueberries for my snacks. Skinny bar for my train journey home and SW chicken supreme for dinner tonight.

Sorry to hear about OH @bubbs - hope he gets seen and reassured soon.
Well done to those who lost last week or STS - great stuff.
Belated Happy Birthday to @TakeItEazy x
