Are those rolls HEB @maman?  If they are I may well pick up a pack to try next time I'm in Sainsbury.

I got everything on my list but will still need to go again on Thursday as will need more mushrooms and eggs and no doubt there will be other things which need to be added to the list for food between Thursday and Tuesday especially as it looks like we're going to Canterbury for the weekend!  That of course means there will be some eating out involved as well as eating in the van!

    Hi all,

Sorry for the radio silence. Managed to sort out Mum's latest scam. Need to get BIL to fit a letterbox to her front door and dispense with the postbox on the outside of her porch. Just too easy for anyone to filch from it.

Well done to the losers and STS'ers (TIE and milann) Hi to Suffolksue. I'm joining Bluegreen with a gain of 3/4lb - had apple crumble on Sunday and also some wine, so not surprised!

DH and I ran a few errands today and had lunch out. I chose a JP with tuna. Dinner tonight is pork Szechuan and noodles.

I'm in London tomorrow with my WI group. Going to the Vogue Inventing the Runway Exhibition, so will again be having lunch out. Just hoping there will be something suitable as no idea where we will end up.

    Take care all

Milann glad you had a lovely time, but as Denise says £5.60 is a small price to pay , remember it's for YOU, you need to spend on yourself sometimes, i need accountability that's why i still go to group, i know i am in target but would not be if i didn't go every (most )weeks..

Coxy glad you got your mum sorted out.

Morning all, the weather forecast is looking good for the weekend so we are definitely going away.  Not as good today as rain forecast later.  Have just had to rejig the menu plan as some of the the planned meals aren't viable in the motorhome as don't have a decent oven!  It's OK for reheating stuff but rarely use it.

Have decided to do a machine load of washing and get it out on the line for a couple of hours before the rain comes; should at least get rid of a bit of the wetness before going into the tumble dryer to finish off.

I've got the first of the Pre Diabetes course this evening.  Not looking forward to it really but we'll see.  Have had to weigh in Kg and measure waist in cm to take with me - definitely bigger waist than I ought to have for my height and weight.

    Today's plan:

B - scrambled eggs and spinach, toast
L - jacket potato, cottage cheese
D - eating out - will probably have either chicken or steak with salad

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - will probably have a G&T with dinner

    Have a good day everyone.

    Forgot to check in yesterday:

B - Overnight oats with strawberry, raspberry & banana

    HEA - milk (1/2 portion)
    HEB - oats
    1 syn - maple syrup

    L - feta couscous salad

    HEA - feta

    S - mango - free

    D - meatball spaghetti

    HEA - parmesan (1/2 portion)
2 - estimate for milk & breadcrumbs used to make the meatballs

Hope the pre-diabetes course isn't a waste of your time @joedenise. Recommending those classes seem to be a thing lately. I have two friends who've been on them. One needed to lose weight and  went on a low carb diet (not sure if it was what the course recommended). That worked for him and he's successfully got off medication and he's sticking to it. His wife is still very overweight but I suspect she cheats as she tried SW but didn't lose much with that either. The other tried exercise but managed to injure himself in the process! 🤣 Obviously, losing weight isn't going to be a solution for you and I think you're fairly active so it'll be interesting to hear what you have to say.

I'm assuming you and Joe are going to eat out after the class. Seems like you know wherever you're planning to go offers good SW choices so enjoy!

The Sainsbury's wholemeal topped deli rolls are a HEB or 7.5 syns each.

I'm not begrudging you the few syns @Bluegreen143. It's a great SW menu plan but just wanted to suggest possible tips in case anyone's interested. I had overnight oats recently and added a few drops of almond essence along with the fruit. I love marzipan so that flavouring was great for me. Also, when I make my meatballs I use plain couscous (made up) instead of breadcrumbs and that works well. I mix mine with an egg and add some onion to up the Speed.

I'm going to risk going to SW tomorrow for WI. It's sooner than essential but I'd like to have a bit of extra freedom when it's my birthday in a couple of weeks time. I'm feeling a bit thinner than I did at the weekend so hoping that I'm in target range.🤞🏼 I've got a fairly clear week coming up too so if not successful tomorrow then grace week should be enough.🤔

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA1 milk for drinks, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S)
    L- JP (F), tuna (P), salad (S)
    D- Spaghetti Bolognese (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- LTL mayo 1

Good tips Maman. I’m unfortunately a marzipan hater 🤣. I’ve heard that adding vanilla extract to overnight oats is good too, suppose that would be a more subtle flavour though and I think I’d still need the maple syrup.

We're going to Spoons after the course as it's the only place to eat in town apart from getting a kebab takeaway or fish and chips!  We're not well off as no proper restaurants at all and none in the next town either.  There's an Indian and a Turkish between town and where we live in the opposite direction from where the course is but both are very expensive and not at all SW friendly!

Good luck with WI tomorrow @maman.  Agree it will be interesting to see what they have to say; having said that I'm only really active when we're on holiday, away in the van or when the weather is warm and dry - we don't do walking in the rain or wind so not been very active since we got back from holiday.  Hoping to get a good bit of walking in over the weekend as it's forecast to be dry but cold.

I've done next month's menu plan and have included overnight oats - I also add flavourings to it, usually almond or vanilla but I've got quite a few other flavours like black cherry, apple plum crumble, pistachio - can't remember what else!

I'm also planning on doing some carrot cake baked oats and some hot cross bun baked oats (pretty sure DH will be happy with both of those flavours!).  Not had baked oats for a while as can't fit my silicon trays into the air fryer so need to use the oven for them and been trying to avoid using it as much as possible.

    Hi all,
I'm back from my London jaunt. Very good Vogue exhibition and the Kings Cross area has really changed. Very gentrified now and a mixture of old and new architecture which is very complimentary. I had my usual cereal, yog and blueberries at home and we ended up in Waitrose cafe as the only place to seat all 17 of us! I had a cheese and onion toastie and white coffee. Not great, but no soup or salads on offer. I took an apple and a skinny bar for the train journey home (old habits die hard).
Dinner tonight is mushroom risotto which is free and very yummy.
Hope the class goes okay tonight @joedenise x
Good luck for WI tomorrow @maman :)
