Thanks @Coxy11 for the recipe.  Think I've worked out what G and T are (and I know that could be a drink, LOL!).  Am I right in thinking it's one of the Medway towns the job's in?

Yes @joedenise that's correct about G! We don't live in T but it's the closest station to us. We live in L....

...and good morning to everyone else not in on the Secret Lives of Kentish residents.....

We came 2nd AGAIN in the pub quiz last night, to a different team this time. At least we are consistent - 3 attempts over 3 months, and 3 x 2nd place. 1st, 2nd and 3rd all get a prize so all good. I ended up driving as nephew came too and I needed to drop him home afterwards.

In job news, they got back to me to say 3 days is fine if I do an extra hour each day, so 8.30am-5.30pm with 30 minutes lunch. That suits me and 30 mins lunch means I can't pop out to the shops and spend money! I will be back to taking in breakfast, lunches and snacks. They want me to do M, W and F so I'm hoping it'll work out okay. Still waiting for a start date but all ID and relevant pre-employment checks are being sorted.

We have a firm here cleaning our roof today - it's messy, noisy and stressful. Looking good already though - I will post photos later because obvs you will be interested lol! As a result I've only just had some WM toast and HM marmalade (courtesy of DSis' MIL) for breakfast which isn't at all what I'd normally have. The late night/very early start and stress has discombobulated me somehow. I won't need lunch so will just have some fruit.

Food for the remainder of today:
    L - 2 x satsumas, apple
    D - pork chops, green beans, gnocchi - P, S, 5
    HEA - milk
Syns - 1 for marmalade plus 5 so 6 total

Need to pop to Mum's this afternoon as she has again (4th time in 3 months) fallen victim to financial fraud. This time someone has taken out a CC in her name and run up an £11.7k bill. They wouldn't talk to me yesterday as I'm not the 'cardholder' so need her to be with me. I have LPA so hoping I can put a stop to it. Jeez.

Loving the cryptic clues about Kent. It's not a county I know except to pass through for the ferries and Channel tunnel. I think I guessed the G though as there's also one in Dorset but pronounced differently.😁

So sorry to hear about your mum @Coxy11. I know we all have to be on the lookout for scams but she seems to be really unlucky to be targeted so often. Hope you can get it sorted out. 🤞

That's good news about the new job. The short lunch break should also be good for SW as it'll make you go back to planning your meals away from home and cut down the opportunity to go to coffee shops and be tempted by cakes and other synful things. 👍

I put a few tomatoes in with KFC too @joedenise but for  longer than the mushrooms. Sometimes I do a dish of roasted tomatoes with garlic granules and balsamic. I think it was @ruby_eskimo that suggested that. I just set the timer on my phone as CBA to work out how to set the oven timer! 🤣

I've got to do my meal plan for next week and then the weekly shop to go with it.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, berries (S), banana (F)
    L- cold meat (P), bubble & squeak (F, S), pickles (S)
    D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), veg (S)
    Syns - weekend wine 😁

@maman - you've guessed the G town correctly!  I'm struggling a bit with the L one but think I know what it is!  If it's where I think it is it's where we used to store our caravan when we first moved to the Island nearly 25 years ago before moving on to a motorhome!

Didn't buy any tomatoes this week but they are on my list for when I go shopping on Tuesday.  Will definitely try the roasted tomatoes with garlic granules and balsamic.  Actually had to buy a new bottle of balsamic this week.  Managed to get one quite cheaply (for balsamic) in Tesco although they had bottles for £7+ - no way I'm paying that for it though.

I also CBA to work out how to set the cooker timer and just use the timer on the microwave which is really easy.  Funnily enough DH can work the cooker timer but not the microwave one!

Can't believe how quickly February has gone - only one more week so I'll have to be thinking about next month's menu plan soon!  Still at least I've got plenty of meat and fish in the freezer.

Has anyone got any good recipes for pork fillet (tenderloin)?  I bought one when we went to FF without thinking what I'd use it for!  Don't usually do that but want to include it on next month's menu plan.  Thanks.

Horrid weather today wet miserable and very windy. Ref the mushrooms I suppose I meant they take a long time as I have arthritis and tendonitis quite badly in my thumbs and wrists by the time I have brushed/peeled them, sliced and fried in a spot of oil and some water it seems to take ages as it does for most  kitchen tasks, DH will peel and slice all the hard root veg for me most of the time. Might try to do some batches on good days and open freeze - seeing Rheumy people this week may get some treatment offered.

I made a banana and walnut cake for DH today, had to do a taste test and it is a bit stodgy, but there is always custard! I may work out the Syn values tomorrow as I have all the quantities.

I hope everyone has something nice lined up for the weekend, nothing exciting lined up here.

Eh… I’m creeping back on here without reading everything so hope everyone is ok! ❤️

4lb on today. Been out for dinner on Thursday night so hoping some of that is fluid retention from salty food!

Feeling more motivated to get back on it so I’m glad I weighed myself. Just had a totally unmotivated two weeks for some reason, combination of not being very well, bad weather and work stress. As well as not being on slimming world, I’ve overspent my budget a bit and not been as productive as usual. But I’m ready to shake it off!

Morning all, rained quite heavily overnight and has been very drizzly this morning although trying to brighten up now.  Needed to pop out to the pharmacy to pick up DH's meds which weren't complete when I went in the other day - only a couple of items but one of them is likely to be needed after the weekend as nearly finished.

Also popped to the butcher as he was doing gammon joints of various sizes for the same price so got the largest one they had!  Had to get down my huge stockpot as the only pan large enough to fit it in!  Had hoped to cook it in the SC but not to be.  It's currently soaking to make sure it's not too salty as it's a smoked joint.  Will get it cooked this afternoon as we're out tomorrow afternoon for DD2's birthday.  She's booked for us to all go to an fairground type place but it's all electronic!  Not sure how it all works but should be fun (says she hopefully!).

Well done on coming back @Bluegreen143 - I'm sure you'll shift that weight as soon as you get back on plan.  Life gets in the way sometimes but we just have to go with the flow.

@maddiemay - I don't waste time peeling mushrooms, there really isn't a need apart from the large flat mushrooms which I tend to stuff rather than just having as a side dish with a fry up or other dinner.

    Today's plan:

B - bacon and mushroom sandwich
L - lentil soup (from freezer)
D - beef and horseradish stew, mash

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 3; horseradish 0.5; weekend wine maybe if we fancy it later

    Have a good day everyone.

    Afternoon all 👋🏻
WI with 1lb loss (didn’t record sneaky peek, never do) so bang on target 🤗 food is a bit hit & miss (mainly miss 😳) I blame Mr Ts & all the different flavour hot cross buns 🤨. Wouldn’t recommend the rhubarb & custard as flavourless 😤, tried red Leicester & cheddar today, bit meh! Hubby tried the strawberry & clotted cream, said they were flavourless too. He has the St Clementine to try yet. Not for me though!

Not looking forward to going back to work, only because I still don’t feel great! Still so very tired all the time 🥱. Also I asked hubby if the weight loss is noticeable, he said yes & I look scrawny (thanks love!) so expecting comments from those that know I’m not well 🥺.

Hope everyone is well, enjoy your weekend x x

Those hot cross buns sound yuk to me!  I'm not overly keen on even the plain ones and generally only have one or two over the time they'e in the shops.  DH has been buying a couple of packs as week and freezing them and getting out a couple at a time.  I had one this week but that will be it for at least another month!  Will probably have one on Good Friday as well.

Well done on your lb loss @TakeItEazy to get bang on target.  Not nice to be told you look scrawny though.

Well done @bubbs too on your lb loss even though you were expecting a gain.  Was it another taster today?  You seem to make lots of stuff for group.

No @maman yet but suspect she's at the football (unfortunately last time I saw the score her team were 4-0 down) so don't think she'll be too happy today.
