Hi all,
I loathe SM for that very reason @bubbs. Why can't folk consider the poor families. Makes my blood boil.
I weighed in with a gain of 1 1/4lb today which was to be expected as after our lovely roast chicken meal, DH got out the crisps and chocolate. He is such a feeder. Being 6' 2" with really long legs, he rarely puts on weight. Pffff!
I took Mum food shopping this morning. I didn't fancy breakfast before I went (I know....danger, danger...) but was actually fine. I had a portion of BNS and chilli risotto from the freezer for lunch with a satsuma and a skinny bar. Dinner tonight is beef massaman curry which is a kit from Aldi and probably a gazillion syns, but it is what it is. One day I will be back in the zone, but that is not today.

@coxy Boo to the gain. It will be gone soon. If my hubby gets out the choc/crisps I go to bed 🤣
Also wanted to say that Jerusalem artichokes are really delicious both roasted like potatoes and made into soup BUT, beware the wind they can give you. Start with small portions 😳🤣
Freezer tea of Thai red curry. It has LF coconut milk in so will be syns but is packed with flavour and speedy veg. Will serve with rice.

Hello
I do read every day, but not doing at all well on SW. I am still not recovered from the December virus it has left me with blocked painful sinus and accompanying headaches, add in comfort food during the cold wet weather and I just have not been able to get on plan. To add to the tale of woe IBS is chipping in and rebelling against higher fibre foods, the many portions of healthy soup etc. are causing me grief, hard to keep the Syns low when I need them for low fibre bread, crackers instead of WM bread and non-speed fruits.
WI is Wednesday morning and a STS would be very welcome, not confident.
Thank you all for keeping posting and the details of the food you make inspiration is so welcome. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

Not sure what has got into me this week. On Thursday I had a great day…..turned down biscuits and ate free food all day. Friday it was as if a switch clicked….we went to a neighbour’s funeral which was sad, but we actually celebrated her life very well and had a lovely time. She would have approved of her send off. The buffet was all home made food and her favourite foods. I filled my plate(s), which I enjoyed but couldn’t switch the switch off again. And don’t even get me going on hot cross buns - why did I buy them 🤷🏻♀️🤬🤷🏻♀️🤬 HABIT 🤬🤬🤬I’m expecting a gain. Most meals have been sw friendly….but my snacks 😳😳😳
I’m going to Wales tomorrow with friends to check on a friend’s caravan so eating out will be involved specifically fish and chips have been mentioned.I’m quite mad with myself as I know I’m back on the see-saw of one pound off, one pound on again🥴😡 Sorry about moaning but I just needed to get it out there to halt my spiral. I’ve got to change what I do…..sooooo a plan is emerging……
When we go to Wales tomorrow. I’ll get the fish and chips with everyone else. I’ll take the batter off most of the fish…..just eat an end to satisfy the need for the taste, have mushy peas and if I feel the need for chips share or pinch one of friends 👍
My best friend’s hubby passed away just before Christmas, I’ve been going around to see her fairly regularly. It usually involves wine or cake. She’d bought delicious strawberry fresh cream tarts for us both at weekend. I’m going to have to ask her to stop the treats and just have a cuppa together and just have treats occasionally….maybe limit them to when we’re out and about. I know she is consoling herself with food and treats and she is doing something nice for us both but I can’t continue with so many…..but it’s so hard to say ‘no’ under the circumstances. I’m undoing the good I’ve done during the week when I visit over weekend.Dd and gks will be coming for 4 nights from Saturday and it’s tradition that the gks bake at grandmas. And the girls particularly the younger girl look forward to it. Make buns rather than a cake and I’ll just eat one with them…..approx 5 syns ????? But better than a big slice of cake. Keep meals low syn and go out for walks 😁😁
Sorry for the long post but I feel as if I’ve recognised some obstacles and put some sort of plan in place for the future.January spends - £587.580 -
It's tough when life has a habit of getting in the way @milann. You're doing the right thing to have a plan.👍🏼
Although I've been at target for a number of years, I've never gone along with the SW advice of having extra syns or HEXs just because I can. Personally, I prefer to have as few syns as possible day to day and then save them for eating out or wine syns at home.
In your position, I'd enjoy the fish and chips, have as small an offering of buns with the GCs at the weekends and then hit it hard next week. I don't need to tell you that buying Hot Cross buns isn't a good idea.🤣 I'd have a meal plan and shopping list ready to have a good stab at SW next week.
Sorry to hear you're still suffering @maddiemay. Keeping in touch is good even if you're not able to stick to the plan completely. 🤗
This week really isn't going the way I'd hoped. As well as meeting my friend on Thursday, DH is now suggesting lunch out tomorrow. We are going to collect some new chairs for the kitchen and DH thinks he's helping to suggest we eat out. 🤔
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, berries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
L- LOs as yesterday (P,S,F)
D- veggie chilli and rice (P,S,F)
Syns- 00 -
Afternoon all, this grey, damp, cold weather is really getting me down now. Looking at the forecast for next week it's looking as though we might finally be getting a bit of sun and it can't come soon enough for me.
DH sold his car last week after the insurance renewal came in at twice what it was last year after his accident last year so it just wasn't viable to keep it so we'll be making do with my little car. Went over to DD1's this morning to get a jar of her honey as we've finished the last jar! Real honey is so much nicer than anything you can buy in the shops. While we were out and about DH decided it would be a good idea to get our holiday booked for his 75th birthday next year now he's finally decided where he wants to go so we'll be off to Morocco next May to celebrate his birthday. We're doing a 2 centre holiday with 3 days in Marrakech and then 11 days in Agadir. Not somewhere I'd have chosen to go but it's his choice this time.
Sorry you're still suffering @maddiemay. Just do what you can when you can. Look after yourself.
Life definitely gets in the way at times @milann and all you can do is good when you can and careful when you can't. Don't worry about having a bit of a rant on here it's good to get it off your chest.
No Farmfoods vouchers @bubbs - we don't get any leaflets or anything where we live and we only went there because we were in Canterbury but don't think it's a good idea to go to often when it's so easy to spend nearly £100 without really thinking - I'm just glad we can afford it.
Finally had my hair cut and feel much better - it's not been cut since before Christmas so it was much longer than usual.
Today's plan:
B - weetabix, milk
L - carrot and lentil soup
D - LO lamb passander, rice, mango chutney (need to add extra garam masala and chilli when I reheat it because it was really mild - even milder than a korma!)
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - Weetabix
Syns - mango chutney 2
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Evening all 😁
I feel like i could eat and eat, must be the weather!
Went comapny shop today.........crap again 🙄 it's saving itself for when we get home as i have really run my freezers down shopping from them this month.
Called in Mum's on the way back as she is feeling the cold in bed as she has no one to snuggle up too 😢so i got her some nice brushed cotton sheets, she know wants duvets, i said they will go cheap soon so we are waiting 🤣🤣
Denise, you don't need paper coupons, we don't get them as we don't get post, infact we don't have a letter box! You register online .
Food today
pitta hexb, with ham and beetroot, tomato, 2 satsuma
casseole and veg, syn free
Milan, same problem here but i had half of one hot cross bun, dh wanted them then they call you 🤣Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:1 -
Hi all,
@milann I too am self-sabotaging atm - feels like the choc and crisps call to me. DH has suggested fish n chip takeaway on Friday. We don't 'do' valentines and he'd suggested going to the local pub for their £35/head meal. I said too expensive, so FnC was the next least expensive.
@bubbs not sure if there's a H0mebase closing near you? Ours had pillows and duvets cheap when we popped in yesterday. Shame about company shop.
Just popped to the town to run a few errands and pleased that I didn't succumb to the bakers and get DH (and probably me!) a mahoosive Belgian bun. I am determined to have a better day today.
Food today:
B - fruit n fibre, blueberries, FF vanilla yog - HEB, S, 1
L - cheese, ham and spinach omelette, apple - HEA, P, S
D - smoked salmon and pea pasta - 2 for the cream
HEA - milk
Syns - Skinny bar plus 3 so 7.5 total

Afternoon all, just back from BIL's funeral. Must say it's the longest funeral service I've ever been to. Over an hour in church followed by a half hour drive to the crematorium where there was another 45 minutes service! As it was over an hour away it meant it's been a very long morning.
Another self sabataging - was so late by the time we were nearly home we ended up in Morries and just picked up a couple of pies! Checked the calories 610 for the pie so probably 30.5 syns but assume can knock some off for the chunky steak as it seemed to be very lean so maybe 27 syns - will just need to stay very low syn tomorrow before WI on Friday morning.
B - marmite on toast
L - meat pie
D - pork steak, mash, veg
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 3; meat pie 27
Have a good day everyone.
