Afternoon all, feeling a bit better this morning but still having issues with breathing and still using my inhaler more often than usual but not quite as much as it has been over the last week thankfully.  Have had a change of steroid inhaler as well so that might be part of the reason.  Whatever it is I'll take it.  The coughing has also cut down so not looking like I'm going to need more antibiotics at the moment.

Good news @TakeItEazy on DH's company agreeing on medical retirement and redundancy.  At least you know you'll have money coming in regularly and how much it will be as well as a lump sum from the redundancy.  Sorry to hear you've still got tummy issues.  It really is time it is sorted out as it's been ongoing for some time now.

    Today's plan:

B - fry up - bacon, egg, black pudding, mushrooms, beans
L - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles
D - butter chicken, rice, mango chutney

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - black pudding ?, mango chutney 2

Can someone let me know the syns for about 50g of black pudding please?

    Have a good day everyone.

Glad you are feeling a bit brighter joedenise. Lots of horrid chesty stuff about just now.
I weighed in yesterday and lost 1.5lbs. So very happy about that!
Just about to go shopping - M&S this time. I love their fruit n veg, it keeps brilliantly. Apart from that. I only need milk and yogurt.

  • Happy weekend,

Black pudding syns depends on the brand, but 50g averages 5.5 syns, or 6.5 if fried.

Breakfast this morning of fat free yoghurt with defrosted blueberries, cherries, sliced banana (all free) plus a little high protein granola (3.5 syns)

Lunch of bacon medallions, three eggs, grilled mushrooms and beans (free)

Was in the shop and saw the Easter eggs.  I love Easter eggs.  Resist!  'Protect your weight loss' as my consultant would say!... Stuff myself with free food basically.

Have a good skimming weekend !

Thanks @Iloveyoutoo for the syn info.  Better count it as 6.5 as DH definitely fried it although without oil.

Sorry to be MIA but have managed to catch up with you all.

Well done on your losses @joedenise, @TakeItEazy and @Matron_Midge. 👏👏👏

You did well to STS @Bluegreen143, obviously getting straight back to the healthy eating helped. 👍 My DH doesn't do SW as such but he eats SW meals with me and then has extras like cakes and biscuits or sandwiches for his lunch which we rarely have together.

Welcome @Iloveyoutoo. I think there's room to save on the £50 if you need to. I've made a veggie chilli today in the SC and will probably get at least 8 portions out of it. I adapt the Hairy Bikers chilli recipe by skipping the meat but keeping the beef stock as we're not vegetarian and like the flavour. I add two extra tins of beans and a handful of lentils for protein and then any vegetables I fancy as well as the onions and tomatoes. Today I added bits of carrots, mushrooms, baby corn, peppers and courgettes.

Yes please for the beef and mushroom recipe @Coxy11.

Glad to hear you're feeling better @joedenise and eating a bit more.

I can empathise about the oven @bubbs, having just got used to a new one. I haven't used a gas oven since I was in a rental when I first married except the occasional holiday home.

Syns were OTT yesterday as DH fancied some breaded fish. It was cod and OK but certainly not worth 10 syns! ☹️

On plan today though and hoping for a good week ahead.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P), mushrooms, tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
    D- chicken stir fry with noodles (P, S, F)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, stir fry sauce 1.5, weekend wine 😁

Well well done on the losses @Matron_Midge and @TakeItEazy x I’m glad the situation with your DH is resolving itself. Let’s hope things conclude quickly.

Glad to hear you’re doing a bit better @joedenise

We have done some more gardening today and are now watching the rugby whilst our dinner cooks - chicken and red wine tagliatelle - using red wine stock pots.

We had LO turkey chilli noodles for lunch as it did 5 decent portions.

I’ll post the recipe tomorrow @maman

Have a good evening all x

Afternoon all, it's a lovely bright but chilly day today.  Changed the bed so have the bedding out on the line.  Not sure it will dry completely but at least it should get the worst of the wetness out.   Will need to do some more washing during the week but not enough for a load yet - no point doing any over the next couple of days and it's forecast to rain again!  Why can't we have at least a few days of dry sunny weather?

Still getting very breathless whenever I try to do anything - was absolutely knackered after hanging out the washing so taking it easy for the rest of the day - at least until I go out to get it back in!

    Today's plan:

    B - sausage sandwich
    L - cheese omelette
D - gammon, potatoes, carrots, cabbage

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - sausages 2; LF spread 3

Will use the gammon water to make some lentil soup tomorrow for a cheap lunch during the week.

    Have a good day everyone.

STS is perfect when you're at target @bubbs. Well done. 👍

It's a beautiful day here too @joedenise, not a cloud in a beautiful blue sky.

I'm ashamed to say I haven't retrieved the washing line from the bottom of the garden since the builders left. Washing dries fine in the sunny back bedroom but I must start putting it out again.

I love lentil soup from the gammon stock, my absolute favourite. 😋 I got 12 portions of chilli from the SC. I did 5 meal size and 2 small ones for me to put on a JP. I batch cooked some brown rice too, made 4 pouches for the freezer. When I didn't have a kitchen, I resorted to buying microwave pouches but they all have at least a few syns plus they cost more.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, berries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
    L- veggie omelette, pickles (P, S)
    D- roast chicken dinner (P, S, F)
Syns - HM gravy 4, weekend wine 😁

    Hi all,

Rubbish at keeping upto date, but been having a bit of a pity party for 1. My year of shocking eating just keeps coming back to haunt me. I now need some dental work after all the sugar. I can't really believe they've  deteriorated so much in 6 months - I'm really hoping the proper dentist tells me there's been a mistake this Friday!

Away with work for a night this week so food might be a bit off then, but I'm determined to use my health and dental issues to keep me on track...
