Ended up staying home today as just as I was leaving to pick up DSis I heard DH screaming blue murder. He had got out of bed and collapsed onto his knees and couldn't get up as he has a bulging disc. Took me and DS2 15 minutes to get him to a seated position and then help him downstairs (he is 6ft 2" and nearly 15st). We have a 20ft tall window on our landing so I couldn't risk him falling through it so I stupidly went first! He is feeling very sorry for himself. The meds are slowly kicking in - has pain relief and anti-inflammatories. Can't believe yesterday we went for a walk around a local priory after the A&E visit!
ILs came over as planned and bought a support brace/belt thing which he is wearing. I went to Aldi and food shopped without a list so there will be a few cobbled together meals this week including some READY MADE things, but tbh I just wanted to get back home.
Have spent some time in the garden late this afternoon as we bought some plants and bulbs on Thursday and I wanted to get them in as we are due wet weather over the next day or so.
Annoying about the phone @joedenise hope you got it sorted.

Won't know if I can get into my phone account until at least tomorrow as apparently it can take anything from 24 - 72 hours to update! Can't even check how much the bill is without access! I'll know tomorrow (I think) as it was due yesterday but DD probably won't come out until tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about the medical emergency @Coxy11. I have a recurring disc problem myself so can empathise. I was really pleased it didn't play up last week as sleeping on a hotel mattress often sets it off. Hope your DH feels better soon. I usually take muscle relaxants for nerve pain. They're effective but knock me out.
Yes @beanielou, we thoroughly enjoyed Glasgow. There was so much to see and do and we managed a trip out to Glencoe.
I meant to say @bubbs that I've never known you have such a large gain. ☹️ Fortunately, you've got plenty of leeway but we'd all prefer to be as close to the bottom of range as possible. 🤞you see off a pound or more this week.
It's stayed dry here until now @joedenise although rain was forecast. I put the washing in the tumble dryer 😲 but fortunately on half price electric.
Today's plan-
B fry up (HEB, P, S)
L- JP with prawns and salad (P, F, S)
D- beef casserole with new potatoes, parsnips and lots of Speed veg (P, F, S)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1, weekend wine 😁0 -

Morning all,
Got back late last night. Madrid was good, it rained every day but I still got out and about. I only had a couple of glasses of wine the whole trip so hoping not too much damage done (I’m totally ignoring the amount of food I ate 🤣).
Glad you enjoyed Glasgow @maman. Hope your DH is feeling better, that sounds awful @Coxy11. I’ve just looked at the weather forecast @bubbs and we’re due rain all week and sleet next week!Back on plan so had a soft pitta with bacon medallions, tomatoes and mushrooms for breakfast, lentil soup is out defrosting for lunch and it’s good old spag bol for dinner.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Welcome back @Jellybaby glad you had a good time despite the rain x
Raining here too. I’m currently in Rochester as DH managed to get an earlier Chiro appointment. We will go into the town afterwards depending on how he is moving. Some progress this morning in that he got up and downstairs unaided.Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, scraping of soft cheese - HEB, 1/2 HEA
L - not sure
D - salmon wellington, AF potatoes, broccoli - is anyone able to check syns on this one pretty please https://www.aldi.co.uk/product/specially-selected-cheese-dill-salmon-wellington-000000000365932001
HEA - milk
Syns - lots probably!!Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 25/25 Currently reading Guilty by Definition by Susie Dent0 -
Morning all, what a horrible day! The rain and wind is just getting worse as the day goes on. The puddles on the road are horrendous this morning!
Just did a tip run for my friend as her freezer packed up. There were 2 bags full so sorted out what was worth keeping and was going to put in my freezer so there was a bag for the tip and a bag for the freezer - guess which one DY dumped! So I now have a freezer full of stuff I don't eat including loads of white bread! Could have done without that!
Glad to hear your DH managed to get an earlier appointment @Coxy11 and that he was able to get out of bed and downstairs by himself this morning. Hope he isn't in too much pain.
Glad you enjoyed your trip to Madrid @Jellybaby but shame about the weather although it doesn't seem as though it put you off at all from getting out and about.
Today's Plan:
B - Weetabix, milk, fruit - HEA2; HEB; S; F
L - Water biscuits; Primula - 4; 2
D - Spanish rice - P; S; F; 2.5
HEA1 and 2 - milk
HEB - Weetabix
Syns - chorizo 2.5; Water biscuits 4; Primula 2
Have a good day everyone.
PS. Changed lunch as DH decided to eat some of the junk!

The Aldi Salmon Wellington is 10.5 syns for a quarter of the pack @Coxy11. Of course, most of the syns will be in the pastry and some of the cheese could be offset by HEA so it'll help if you have more fish than pastry.🤔
Pleased to hear your DH is a bit more mobile today and has a chiro appointment.👍🏼
Shame about the rain in Madrid @Jellybaby but glad you had a good time. Well done for getting straight back on plan.😊 I think that's the best thing do do with holidays.
When I started SW, it was October and I was positively angelic up to and including Christmas. Just before New Year, we went up to London to see a show and I had a very miserable omelette and salad for dinner. Because of the lack of deliveries it was no more than a couple of leaves and some soggy tomato. I decided then that going forward I'd go off plan when I wanted to and just take a more scenic route to target.
It's damp and gloomy here too @joedenise. How infuriating for your friend, hope not too much expensive food got thrown out. At least you won't be tempted by the white bread. 🤢
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, blueberries (S), banana (F)
L- cold meat (P), LO veg and pickles (S,F)
D- salmon (P), SW chips (F), roast veg (S)
Syns- 00
