I'm making clothes most of which is more suited to holidays than everyday although the trousers I've made I've yet to decide whether or not they are holiday or everyday or even if I'll wear them! The hems don't look too brilliant so it may end up I don't where them but hopefully they'll look better once they've been washed.
If they're OK they'd be OK for both everyday wear or holiday (spring/summer only) as they're not very thick.
No idea what the 9 bodies on a Mexican Morgue is! Assume it's a film? If not no idea!!!

Not sure where time has gone. It was Dh birthday at weekend so we celebrated by going into the big city nearby. The Christmas markets opened at weekend so we had a mooch around some of it. It was nice to see some of square in front of the town hall open after several years. They’re renovating the town hall and it’s way over schedule and budget. We didn’t do all the markets as they sprawl everywhere. We jumped on a tram and had a drink at a nearby place with a new complex by a big canal. Then back into the city for a Chinese……so many things were spicy so I ended up with sweet and sour. Not the best SW choice but it was rather delicious and I shared some of it with Dh and ds. The celebrations seemed to carry on for a few days….even though it wasn’t my birthday I fully embraced the excuse. I weighed on Monday morning and had put 2 lb on. I weighed again this morning and I’m down to 1/2 lb gain. I’ve made a big pan of soup - chicken, veg and lentils and it’s rather delicious so am sticking with it……I’m using hm freezer meals to free up some freezer space before Christmas. I should have been going to aqua tomorrow but have just cancelled as I’ve got a dentist appointment I’d forgotten about.I love the idea of making clothes and used to make a lot for the children when they were small. I even bought a new table for my sewing machine but haven’t got around to doing any actual sewing.
Hope your Dh is much better after visiting the ciro Coxy.

Morning all,
Sounds like a fun time @milann. I said to DH last night that we should go to Canterbury’s Christmas market before it gets too bonkers busy!We changed dinner last night to chicken pesto pasta - some syns for the pesto but still well within my quota.I’m up earlier than usual as BG are coming to fit smart meters. Call time is 8am-12noon - bet they come at 12noon!! DH is up and moving quite well so hoping he’s over the worst of it.Food today:
B - banana, toasted protein bagel thin, poached egg, spinach - free, HEA, P, S
L - LO chicken biryani, apple - free, S
D - SC gammon, AF Potatoes, broccoli - P, free, S
HEA - milk

Pleased to hear your Dh is over the worse Coxy.
Just watched a video of our singing groups performance over the weekend. I wore a bright pink t shirt with the logo on it- 😳🥴 being 4ft 10 I ended up on the front row 😯 omg what a spectacle I looked. It’s spurred me on big time 😂😂😂 the t shirt fitted my shoulders but was rather tighter than I realised everywhere else 😂😂Tweedle Dee came to mind 🫣😂 I need a bigger t shirt or to get on and loose this stone and a half. I’m going to keep the image in my mind to spur me on 👍👍👍👍
i weighed again this morning and am pleased I’m the same as I was last Thursday so 2 lb to go to the next stone I’m working towards.
I'm going to the cinema this evening to see a film called Choral about a choir during the war I think. Anyway I’m going with a few friends, I often go with one particular friend and we have pizza and wine as we enter, she asked if we were going ahead to eat first and meeting the rest later. I am determined to break the habit….so I’ve taken some meat and potato pie (I’ll have a 2 inch square of pastry) there’s lots of veg in the stew and I’ll have beetroot and red cabbage…..so not too bad. Certainly better than pizza and wine.Breakfast has been heb toast with a tablespoon of Nutella and banana…..4 syns
Dinner - soup
Tea - stew with pastry 4 syns ? Red cabbage and beetrootLatte to take into cinema - technically I know I shouldn’t but will count it as hea.
Snacks - fruit.January spends - £587.580 -
Good to hear from you @maddiemay and really excellent news that your DH is so much better.👍🏼
I know healthy eating has lots of benefits but I'm with you and @milann on how much appearance can give us motivation, confidence and the feel good factor. I know I feel so much better when all my clothes fit me and I don't have to hide fat bits under loads of black or smocky outfits. Hope your new consultant works out OK for you.
I could live on egg and chips too @Coxy11 and I'd even add in mushrooms and pickles to make sure I got my Speed in.🤣
Hope BG turn up at a reasonable time for your DH's chiro appointment. We have a smart meter which fortunately does send readings but the monitor that's meant to help save money won't work for us. We've had people out several times but I think they've given up on it as there's such a backlog.☹️
We're going to see The Choral tomorrow @milann. It looked interesting when we saw Downton Abbey a few weeks back. My go to in coffee shops is an Americano with a splash of hot milk but I don't see why you can't offset the milk in a latte with your HEA. You don't seem to have used much for today's menu so you should have plenty of milk to spare, especially if you ask for skimmed or semi skimmed and steer away from the syrups!😁
Let's hope you're pleased with the trousers when they're washed and pressed @joedenise. Like @milann, I used to do lots of sewing when my girls were younger but rarely do much now. I seem to have become very mse and resent the price of fabrics and even new clothes. Most of what I buy lately seems to come from charity shops or reduced bargains unless it's something I really want. I'm very pleased with a new pair of wide leg jeans I bought in Tesco yesterday. They were reduced to £8, size 12 and they fit!!👍🏼
DH is feeling much better and we're off out for lunch shortly. Unusually, we're going to a farm shop that friends recommended. Hopefully that means it will be alcohol free but we'll have to see if any wise choices are possible with the food. We've had a fry up for breakfast and if we're hungry later I'll dig something out of the freezer.0 -
Afternoon all, as it was dry another load of washing done and hung out before we went to town. I had a waxing appointment but was a bit late getting there but wasn't a problem as she no one else booked until 10.
I like my clothes to fit nicely too - can't stand tight waistbands as it means I've put weight on as they're fine when I'm at target and just over (as I am at the moment) but if I put more on then they do become quite uncomfortable.
I know what you mean about the price of fabrics @maman but I buy mine online from a site called Pound Fabrics and although there are a few £1 a metre fabrics most of what I buy are around £2.50-£3 a metre so still makes for a reasonably priced dress/skirt/trousers. I've got enough fabric left of the fabric I made the trousers from to make either a skirt or another pair of shorts but still need to decide what I'll make with it.
I've washed the trousers and they're hanging out on the line at the moment the hem looks a bit better but still not sure whether I might need to unpick them and use the iron on hemming stuff as it's the stitching that looks off!
We sometimes go to the Canterbury Christmas market @Coxy11 but don't think we will this year as we've got a problem with the electrics at the moment and DH can't work on them at the moment due to his hip/back pain as needs to be kneeling on the floor and bending over. Just hope he can get it sorted early in the new year so we can get away in it. If the weather's OK tomorrow DH has suggested a trip down on Faversham on the scooter but I've a feeling the forecast is for rain so probably won't happen.
Today's plan:
B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions - HEA2; HEB; S
L - leek and potato soup; bread - S; F; 3
D - sweet and sour pork, rice - P; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
Syns - slice bread 3
Have a good day everyone.

Yes, waistbands are excellent for reminding us to stay close to target @joedenise. 👍
That fabric sounds very good value and I'm sure you enjoy the sewing.
It's been a very nice day here, mild and dry and the promised rain has just started. Unfortunately, we didn't go our walking group because we didn't want to be wet going out for lunch.
Lunch was OK but not brilliant. I had what was advertised as bacon, egg and chips. It was a thick bacon steak (similar to gammon) but with a thick rind of fat and the chips were 3 fish finger sized hash browns. I suppose the chips might be lower syn than some. 🤔
Anyway, I only had water to drink and tea when the others had pudding so probably just about within syns for the day.0 -

Morning all,
Hope everyone is okay and that the storm isn’t causing any issues. I think we got off lightly although we could still get battered later I guess?
There’s loads of gammon left from yesterday so I’ll freeze some later which will be useful for carbonara in the near future. Will encourage DS2 to have some for lunch.I’m painting the lounge today. Just doing it white to clean it up - it’s such a grubby colour currently (putty). The curtains will need washing, first one is on now.Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, poached egg, spinach, apple - HEB, P, S
L - LO chilli con carne on a JP - free, 1
D - we are eating out at a pub in Faversham. Received a voucher for Christmas which runs out on 12 December so better late than never!! I will be driving I think unless DD or DS2 drive us/pick us up. Still to be decided.
HEA - milk

Morning all, we had plenty of rain last night from about 8.30pm. Wasn't raining when we got up but started again an hour or so ago but not as heavy, virtually no wind either so seems we've got away very lightly. Forecast shows rain until about 2pm with more rain this evening.
Lots of bargains again @bubbs. You're so lucky to have the Company Shop nearby. Have you been to your local one recently @maman? Although it doesn't seem to have as many bargains as @bubbs seems to get!
Don't blame you painting the living room white rather than the current putty which is definitely a "grubby looking colour" @Coxy11. Which pub are you going to in Faversham? As you can imagine we're not going now as no way will we go out on the scooter in this weather! It's definitely needs to be a fine day for us to venture out on it!
Today's plan:
B - bacon & mushroom sandwich - HEB; P; S; 1.5
L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; S; F
D - fish pasta bake, tender stem broccoli - P; S; F; 2
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - LF spread 1.5; cheese sauce 2
Have a good day and stay safe everyone.
