Morning all,
I was awake early as DH's hours are different today thru to Wednesday. I have the start of a cold so dosed up on meds and went back to sleep. Finally got up at 9am which is unheard of for me. My back is sore - think I've pulled a muscle - hurts to sneeze. Always something.
I weighed in today with a 2lb loss so a combination of sugar sacrifice (aka alcohol mostly) and being on plan is working out. Just need to stick to it. I've a quiet week but have an awards ceremony to attend on Friday. We've already chosen our meal - choice of chicken or filled pasta, so I've gone for chicken. Only one dessert of creme brulee which DH loves, so he can have double portions. I will drive us so no alcohol for me.
Today's food:
Late B - toasted protein bagel thin, poached egg, spinach, mushrooms, satsuma - HEB, P, S
L - LO chicken biryani - Free
D - grilled pork chop, savoury rice, mixed veg - P, Free, S
HEA - milk
Syns - 2 x rice cakes and scraping of soft cheese HEA - 3
We are very low on food here and I don't want to shop until tomorrow as that's our 'end of month' date financially. We have frozen mixed veg plus some cabbage from the allotment that I prepped and froze, so will have that too.

Well done on your loss @Coxy11. 🤞👏🤞Cutting out the sugar syns is working well. 👍
Sorry to hear that you're under the weather but it's very mse of you to make a meal from what you have in and stick to your financial planning. 😇
I feed my pudding to DH when it's a set menu too. I really don't like many sweet things, much happier with a cheese board. 😋
I've got a fairly quiet week too, although I have to go to a funeral tomorrow. A friend in my dance group died very suddenly. ☹️
I must get on with my book club book too. We read some peculiar stuff so need to motivate myself.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- usual LO veg, pickles and cold meat (P, S, F)
D- cold chicken (P) , SW chips (F), stir fry veg (S)
Syns - 00 -
Well done Coxy - the cut back on sugar seems to be working well for you.
I've just had a catch up of a couple of weeks or so 😯 not sure where time has gone. Hope everyone’s car problems are getting sorted. I got rid of mine as I hardly used it and it was needing expensive repairs. I’ve only missed it occasionally as we do have a great transport system near me.I’m still trying to have an SP meal a day which is doing ok…..not perfect but good enough.
i went to Pilates last week and found it hard going. The physio told me about NHS Pilates exercises on line. I had every intention of doing them but I just get distracted too easily and if a better offer pops up - I’m off 😜
We’re going to a wedding on Saturday and I’d hoped to have been at target- I’m not - in fact I’m the same as I was when I re started SW in January…..at least I’m not heavier. My dress is ok but I’d feel happier had it been a a tad looser. It is what it is .
I made a big pan of chicken and lentil soup which will last me a few days.
Although Dh has retired he occasionally goes in to help his boss out if they have a big job on. He’s off to Bonnie Scotland tomorrow for 1 or maybe 2 nights. I’m hoping I won’t get distracted a will stay on plan….January spends - £587.580 -
Evening all, we got home a few hours ago after our week's holiday. We've had a nice time with good weather apart from Saturday when it rained nearly all day but at least it was still very warm! As it happened it wasn't a problem being stuck in the hotel as DH was struggling to walk. Not sure what's happened but his hip is extremely painful. There's probably some arthritis in it but as this came on so suddenly I'm wondering if it's more likely to be sciatica. He's going to try and get to see the GP tomorrow.
As you can imagine it's not been a SW friendly holiday but will be back on plan from tomorrow.
Well done to everyone who's lost and well done @bubbs for putting on enough to get yourself back in target during your grace week.
Giving up sugar certainly seems to have worked for you @Coxy11, and sorry you're feeling so stressed. Possibly why you're not feeling great now.
Enjoy the wedding @milann on Saturday.
I got a couple of cooked jacket potatoes out of the freezer and defrosted them and reheated in the microwave and had with beans and a bit of grated cheese for dinner tonight. Still a bit peckish so had a small lolly.
Right going to have a go at unpacking the rest of the suitcase ready to start on the washing mountain tomorrow!
