The Aldi sweet chilli rice cakes are 1.5 syns each @Coxy11.

Cutting down on sugar will help but not so sure about sweetener. Like @joedenise said, sweetener is sometimes synned now but that depends how much you use. It's 0.5 syns per tablespoon but I think it should depend on how much you use per portion. I rarely use sweetener but when I do it's to make something like braised red cabbage. I use a few tablespoons for the recipe but I batch cook a huge pot so broken down into portions it's so negligible that I ignore the syns.

Is your free electricity from your solar panels @joedenise?🤔 We don't have that but electricity is half price from 11 to 4pm on Sundays and sometimes for a few hours during the week. We won't get rich on the savings but it all helps. I always leave Saturday evening's dishes until Sunday morning. Today I've run the dishwasher, roasted the pork and vegetables and done a line of washing. It's all dry, even though it didn't go out until lunchtime.

I can't say that I've been treated differently as a target member but I've never done the social team as I don't go often enough. I sometimes help with the raffle or, with my original consultant, clearing up the hall after group but that's about it.

I wouldn't bother driving all that way to go to a SW Christmas party either @bubbs. My group doesn't have one but my original group used to go to the local Harvester . I didn't go myself but members who visited the Harvester regularly said it was relatively easy to choose wisely.

Very little chicken in the LO curry so just a hint of protein!🤣

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk, eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S)
    L- JP (F), curry P,S), salad (S)
D- roast pork (P), new potatoes (F), roast veg, red cabbage, swede & carrot mash and greens (S)
    Syns- gravy 4, weekend wine😁

Just catching up on yesterday's thread, congratulations @Coxy on the awards for you and your Sister's fundraising.
Done an extra shop this morning £5 off a £50 spend at Ts, bought the expensive things that are currently on clubcard:- olive oil, CF teabags, dog sheww, laundry bleach as well as some shelf stable/ longer dated fresh things, have another one for next week, OH currently unpacking and putting away.
Sunny, chilly and blustery, washing should be dry anytime now.
@joedenise SW brownies sound tempting, we are both trying to mostly stay away from chocolate though.
@suffolksue everyone here has been very supportive in helping me find my way around SW.

@maman - the free electricity hour is from our provider Octopus.  Are you with British Gas as I think they do the regular half price electric on a Sunday?  We do of course get free electric with our solar panels and also get Feed in Tariff payments quarterly - they've been brilliant payments the last 2 quarters due to the very sunny weather!

Didn't bother with tumble drying the washing as the weather was so good and it dried nicely on the line which is always better for clothes than the TD!

@maddiemay - choc brownies aren't made with real chocolate just cocoa powder so they're actually not sweet at all but they taste quite decadent!  I didn't actually make them in the end as didn't have enough eggs but may well make some during the week if I'm using the oven at all.  Definitely not planning on using the oven tomorrow so can buy some extra eggs on Tuesday (was going to buy some anyway).

We get a magazine, well she always used to have them there waiting for us, now very rarely there, so i just say i am taking my magazine 🤣🤣🤣

Oh this is a party for a disco and no doubt beige food!

I am beginning to think it's my oven causing the problems with my yorkies, this was a new tin and never stuck , was in plenty long enough! Hence i never ate it, lunch free, tea 4 syns for gravy

Thanks for the syn value @maman. I made an apple crumble with gifted apples from DSis (3 weeks ago!!) and wasn’t planning on having any but did have a little scoop with some custard - so much for no sugar!! Was actually feeling anxious earlier having had no sugar all day. I’m sure that will pass. I’m so full from the roast that I won’t have the rice cakes after all.

I’m planning a cheese and spinach omelette for tomorrow’s breakfast. Haven’t had an omelette in ages so I’m looking forward to it.

Strange after years of success with Yorkshires that it's going wrong now @bubbs. Perhaps you're right that the oven is the problem. 🤔

How ridiculous that the SW Christmas party should have beige food. You'd think the consultant would bring in caterers with specific instructions to demonstrate how you could put on a delicious buffet that was SW friendly.

Yes @joedenise, it's British Gas that offers the half price electric. I try to make the most of it when it's available but Ovo sounds even better. 👍

    Good morning all.

I’m going to swop to Octopus when my fixed rate ends in May. Am very envious of the freebie hours!!

I have weighed this morning - oh my days, not good. Back on it from today.

B - cheese and spinach omelette, apple - HEA, S, free
L - LO roasted veg (BNS, carrot, red onion) and LO roasties - will pop them in the air fryer for a kind of hash(?) - free, S
D - SW prawn and chilli spaghetti - free
    HEA - milk
    HEB - maybe some ryvita?
    Syns - light soft cheese

Am somewhat discombobulated with what to have for HEB as would usually reach for skinny bar or hi fi bar but I need to kick my sugar/sweetener habit. Can anyone check ryvita thins/regular please  - which are HEB choice? Also I have some dates - are they HEB? TIA xx

It’s calm weather-wise here today. Will potter in the garden later and mulch some more beds.

    Have a good day

Morning all, the weather is much quieter this morning with very little wind.

I'm all behind this morning as overslept and didn't get up until nearly 8!  Sitting having a cuppa and the door bell rings and it's my hairdresser!  I had her down on my calendar to come on Thursday at 9!  No idea who had the wrong date in their diary - me or her, anyway that's my hair cut now.  Also worked out when to have my hair cut over the next couple of months so it fits in with the next holiday!

You can have 4 original Ryvita as HEB @Coxy11, or just have 2 and apparently that counts as Speed as well!  No idea how that works but that's what it was when I was still going to group.  Don't think the cracker wheat or thins or HEB but no doubt someone will correct me on that if I'm wrong!

    Today's plan:

    B - Welsh rarebit - HEB; HEA2; P; F
    L - jacket potato, beans, cucumber, tomato, pickles - S; F
    D - sweet and sour pork, rice - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread

    Have a good day everyone.
