I've never understood the Ryvita synning either @joedenise but you're right that 4 original (and some other varieties) count as a HEB. Ryvita thins aren't a HEB @Coxy11, they're mostly 1.5 syns each although a few flavours are 2 syns.
Sorry to hear that the scales weren't kind to you this morning @Coxy11 but it's good to be able to draw a line and make a fresh start. I really enjoy a hash of LO veg for lunch, I cook extra veg specially.
Not so much left today but just enough. We had planned to go out for lunch yesterday but DH was busy so it didn't happen. I had a pork joint in the freezer so that was fine but hadn't bought in as much veg as usual as we're eating out twice later this week. I'm definitely doing 'good when I can' this and making a few meals with syns that I'd normally avoid if I was desperate to lose.
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, HEA milk, pear, blueberries (S), banana (F)
L- cold pork (P), LO veg (F,S), pickles (S)
D- Salmon (P), SW chips (F), stir fried veg (S)
Syns- 2 (for flavoured salmon)0 -
Thanks all for the HEB and syns info. I went to Home Barga!ns and got a double pack of dark rye Ryvita so hoping they are included in the HEB..... If not I'll syn them.
After my brief trip out I got changed and weeded/cut back/mulched three more beds in the garden - the previous owner loved an island bed.... We have another two to go then the long borders - DH will help with those tomorrow hopefully. Was listening to the couch to 5k podcast whilst gardening - was the young guy from Corrie, Jowita from SCD and Dame Laura Kenny. All very interesting how/why they got into running and how it's helped them. I'm going to start again this week. Can run for about 15 minutes non-stop so that will be my starting point, and hope to build up from there.
Lunch was lovely - very filling though so hoping I don't slump into a food coma. Also had half a baby watermelon for my sweet hit. Not all that keen on WM but bought it for DH to have for breakfast and it's sat in the bowl for 2 weeks, so it needs eating.
I have ironing to do so that's this afternoon's excitement sorted!

Morning all, can't believe how early I was up this morning! 4.30am!!!! Woke up at 3.30 for a wee and then couldn't get back to sleep so got up. Only 7 o'clock now but think I'm going to do some breakfast shortly as been up so long. Think all meals are likely to be a bit earlier than usual!
Need to go shopping this morning as have run out of onions and want to get a SC of savoury mince on later, most of which will get portioned up and frozen. Will keep one lot out for tonight.
Meant to say I finished making the trousers on Sunday and really pleased with them. Think it's the first time I've made trousers that I've been happy with them. Decided the next thing I'm going to make is a maxi dress for holidays. I've found a pattern in one of my old magazines which is basically a rectangle for the bodice which is then shirred and then a bigger piece which is slightly bigger across the bottom than the top, plus narrow straps so a very easy, but time consuming, dress as shirring takes ages! Think it will probably need 20 or so rows sewn whilst being stretched!
Today's plan:
B - breakfast hash - P; S; F
L - butternut squash soup, bread - HEB; S; F
D - pasta bolognaise - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - may have a lolly this evening 6
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Snap @joedenise as I too was awake at 4am and got up at 7! I admire your sewing skills. I have made a couple of small projects this year but am very much a novice. Wouldn’t have a clue how to shirr!
Thanks for the HEB date info. I weighed out 5 for 40g and could only managed 3.5 (think Vicar of Dibley Brussels sprout scene) just can’t bear the texture and taste!! I had 4 rice cakes with a scraping of low fat cheese to avoid the biscuit barrel, so that was my syns for yesterday.I’ve been on a run/walk this morning around the lanes, following a route that DD and DS2 do. It was okay - had to walk at times but that’s to be expected. It was 5.75km. Will continue mulching the beds in the garden today whilst DH fits a ladder radiator in the bathroom.Food today:
B - toasted protein bagel thin, poached egg, spinach, satsuma - HEB, P, S
L - poke bowl - brown rice, smoked salmon, feta, edamame beans, pickles, soy sauce - free, P, HEA, S
D - grilled pork chops, vegetable rice, green beans, apple - P, Free, S
HEA - milk
Syns - ryvita dark rye x 2 with scraping of light soft cheese
Have a good day all

Morning all.
WI this morning and a maintain 😔
Not surprised as its been birthday week with cake, beer festival and meal out.
Noticeably less people at group today and it was mostly consultant talking, not many members speaking. I was all for changing the meeting as I didn't like going round each members weight loss. However I felt like I wasn't included. The maintainers didn't even get a mention.
Got washing out but no sun or wind so can't see it drying.
B hifi bars
L ham omelette or sweet pot and peanut butter soup (4syns)
D meatballs and tomato sauce with pasta or rice prepared oh so need to check out syns.0 -
Hi all,
Happy belated birthday @Wilmaknickersfit great to get maintain 🎉
I’m only starting to get back to normal. I did a covid test - had to wait for them coming in to pharmacy, they kept running out 😳 - which was negative, but whether I was clear by the time I did it or it was really just a blast of flu who knows. Anyway Ive kept away from everyone and will do the same this week to be on the safe side.Food wise, I’ve lived on hot drinks, soup and toast - if I don’t get a loss this week there will be tantrums 🤣🤣. I’ve only had fruit and yoghurt so far and will have cauliflower and broccoli bake for dinner just cos I fancy it.0 -
STS is good considering the celebrations @Wilmaknickersfit. 🤞🏼for a loss this week coming up.😊
Glad to hear you're a bit better @Jellybaby. I do hope you have a loss on Saturday but you never can tell with SW as sometimes not eating enough can work against you.🤔 Hopefully, now you're eating is getting back to normal it will help.
Your dark rye Ryvitas are 1.5 each @Coxy11 and, unless you have loads of milk, you'll probably get away with the cheese spread as part of a HEA. 3 syns is good as you can save the others up for another day.
I love wearing long dresses in the evenings on holiday @joedenise. I have done some shirring but it was years ago making sun dresses for my DDs. My mam used to hand smock dresses for me when I was a child and I've done a bit myself but I don't seem to get around to much sewing at all lately. I have covers to make for our kitchen chair pads and I'd like to make something crafty for token Christmas gifts for a few friends so hopefully you'll have spurred me on.
Lately, I've been knitting hot water bottle covers for the foodbank as it tarts plain basic hot water bottles up a bit and can save people a bit on their heating bills.
Our meals are all over the place today too. I have to take DH to a meeting shortly and then go on to my dance class . It's too early to eat now so I've made myself a salad which I'll take with me just in case I don't have time to come home in between because of the traffic. DH will get himself something when he gets home.
I did think about buying myself a bag of chips instead of the salad but when I got dressed this morning I was so pleased that my trousers fitted so well that it spurred me on not to spoil it.👍🏼
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, scrambled eggs (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk
L- various LOs (P,F,S)
D- ham and egg salad with new potatoes (P,F,S)
Syns- LTL mayo 1

Morning all, it's a nice day today so have done a machine load of washing including all the towels and tea towels. Not much breeze but hopefully it'll dry OK without it.
Well done @Wilmaknickersfit on STS. That's a good result for birthday week!
Glad you're feeling better @Jellybaby.
I might be able to sew but knitting is another matter @maman! I can just about knit but generally bother as I'd never be able to make anything in a reasonable length of time! I did actually knit when I was trying to give up smoking - when I fancied a cigarette I used to pick up the knitting and knit a row or two until the urge passed - it was only 20 stitches but it was enough. The thing I knitted wasn't worth doing anything with it! The last time I did shirring was getting on for 50 years ago when the kids were little, like you it was for summer dresses. Didn't even used to make straps for them - just sewed on ribbons and tied in a bow on the shoulder!
Well done on making the salad and not giving in to a portion of chips - much better for you and like you say you're trousers fitted well and didn't want to spoil that.
Have got something out of the freezer for dinner tonight as will be out at another pre-diabetic course. Only another 2 after this one (thank goodness!).
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, spinach, toast, marmalade - HEB; P; S; 1
L - stuffed peppers - HEA2; S; F
D - sweet potato and chickpea curry, rice, mango chutney - P; S; F; 3
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - tsp marmalade 1; mango chutney 3
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Feeling a lot better this morning. Was going to quickly visit the library to choose some new books but remembered it’s Wednesday and will be closed 🤣 I’ll just potter around here instead.I’m impressed with the sewing chat, think I’ve already said I can’t sew for toffee! In fact, I was thrown out of the home economics class at high school I was that bad🤣 I can knit quite well for a leftie though.
The fridge is looking a bit bare but there should be enough to tide me over until shopping trip on Friday. Finished off the fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, lunch will be a veggie omelette and dinner is going to be spaghetti with meatballs from the freezer.
Have a smashing day everyone.0
