Hi everyone,
Interesting hearing about the new group format and changes to the plan. I don't intend re-joining as don't have the funds to spare atm. Lunch was a full English - the two ladies I met both stuck to tap water, I had a diet coke. I started getting a headache during lunch despite also topping up on water. Popped in to see another WI friend en route home and I took a small carrot cake - had 1/6 slice with a cup of tea. Now home and not sure I fancy anything. DH and chums are at the local pub and he will be cooking them burgers on the BBQ. I definitely don't want one of those!
I am going to take the time to plan my weekly meals tonight. Started yesterday but got side-tracked. No excuses. I have an awards ceremony on 24 Oct - DSis and I are receiving an award for our JoGLE fundraising (a county mental health award) so I need a new frock and shoes. Would like to be a few lbs lighter for that if possible.
Have a good evening all

Maman , yes i am.
This is what i don't understand if they were extra's why add another? Yes we all talk in group, or some do more than others, she does SW news and then just shouts out all the losses, eg 1/2 lb this week, to a, b, c d, 1lb to d,e,f,g,,h etc.
Oh well deserved on the award Coxy 👏👏👏Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
There have been lots of changes over the years since I joined back in 2010 and not all for the better. The new changes particularly to Image Therapy don't seem good at all and a lot of dissatisfaction. I can there being a lot of people leaving because of it by the sound of things.
If I remember correctly I was told that although not compulsory that we should try and have the HEs. Bit like the syns where they say you should have 5-10 a day. You're right @maman it doesn't seem to make much difference whether you have most of them at the weekend or have them regularly throughout the week. I do still have some most days but generally have more at the weekend but not in the same way as I used to. Mainly as not having wine every weekend!
Well done on your award @Coxy11. Well deserved for your fund raising.

As you say bubbs ok for you to do pay though.Sometimes I think consultants don’t like target members as they don’t pay.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Morning all, another bright but very breezy day. Have free electric again today but only an hour today so will do another quick oad of washing and tumble dry it. Not sure if I've got enough eggs but if I have I may make some SW choc brownies as I've got a low syn recipe for them - they worked out at 0.5 syn each when I got the recipe but since then sweetener is now synned so not sure how many they'd be now or whether just to count them as they were originally!
I know what you mean @bubbs about being "used" by consultants. I think a lot of target members end up as part of the social team to help out but other than that aren't really liked because they don't pay so they're losing money.
I've been making a pair of trousers this week and will probably get them finished apart from hemming them as they are now in one piece. I just need to neaten the side seams and then make the casing for the waistband and thread some elastic through and stitch on mock ties at the front. Another new style of pocket tackled on this pair. I'm pleased with them so far and may well make some more in this style in different fabrics. I bought some more new fabrics this week and think a couple of them will be ok for trousers or skirts.
Today's plan:
B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - burger, onions, gherkins, WM roll - HEB; S; 0.5 (trying the Aldi roll today)
D - roast pork, roasted veg, cauliflower, green beans, Brussels, peas - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - WM roll
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5
Have a good day everyone.

Moring all.
Yes i think you are right about consultants and target members . There are 3 who stop every week but sometimes up to about 10 come through.
She announced the Christmas party last night (what they have in an evening) again it's in the area where most of her groups are and then asks who went last year, think it was 3 that said they did, but it's about a 30mile round trip! It's also on a Friday night, right before weigh in! I won't be going, never went last year and that's my last working day before i finish for Christmas so def not!, i'll be too busy!!
Well done on your sewing Denise .
Seems the wind has dropped now down to a breeze, hope it has for everyone.Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
Morning all,
As @joedenise says it’s a bright day here. DH and chums are making sausage sandwiches so I’m keeping out of the way. They survived another night in tents/our garage/a works van. Men!!
I did some research last night whilst making my meal plan for the week. I’m going to try a few new things this week and try to cut down on sugar/sweetener to see if it makes any difference. Will be doing a late lunch/early dinner today as Mum is coming and she can’t eat too late.B - protein bagel thin, poached egg, spinach, banana - HEB, P, S, free
L/D - roast chicken, roast potatoes, steamed cabbage, roasted BNS/carrot/red onion - P, free, SHEA - milk
HEA - soft cheese
Syns - gravy, rice cakes ??
Will have some rice cakes with soft cheese later. Is anyone able to check the syn value of Aldi sweet chill rice cakes please? TIA.
I don’t think there’s a social team member who hasn’t felt taken advantage of if I’m honest. They are the unsung heroes of the group. We used to get a free SW magazine for our trouble. Not sure what other leaders do.Cross-stitch WIP: Haberdashery Shop Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 20/25 Currently reading Finding Hildasaay by Christian Lewis0 -
I used to get a free magazine as well when I was on the social team that was at my original group. My last group I don't think they got anything regularly but occasionally gave them a box of hifi bars!
