Morning all, the last day of reasonable weather before the winds and rain that are forecast for the weekend!
Brilliant news @maman that you are now back in target range. Assume you're now going to be trying to get nearer to bottom end before Christmas so you can enjoy those mince pies and Christmas pudding! I can't see me even getting back into range before then the way things are going! Don't think we'll be going away in the motorhome again any time soon so at least we won't be regularly eating out in unsuitable places!
Need to go shopping again but just to the local town. Hopefully going to get to the library as well as didn't do it Tuesday. For a change I'll be going by myself probably as DH isn't feeling well. Just hoping it's the flu and not Covid. Probably caught whatever it is from our DD1 as she came over Sunday afternoon and Sunday night when she went to bed she was very shivery and hot and that's how DH was last night. I've left him in bed in the hope that he'll stay there while he feels unwell. I really don't want to catch whatever it is!
Today's plan:
B - scrambled eggs, toast - HEB; P
L - butternut squash soup - S; F
D - cauliflower cheese, chips - HEA2; S; F
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.

Another here with a poorly OH, we both felt rubbish yesterday unhappy tums and no energy, but OH seems to be much worse than me, I can always blame IBS for mine as have had it for donkey's years, but don't know with him if it is caused by the as yet un-named condition, food too rich or passing evil microbes. I am fine today apart from ever present Sinusitis. Flu and COVID jabs booked for Saturday so hope to be fit enough and not infectious to others, plenty of masks in stock though.
Knit N Natter today
Just out of top of SW range and no need to WI at group for 6 weeks so must concentrate. Poached eggs on 1/2 EHB for breakfast, Cod filets and steamed veg for tea, PC small potatoes available too, I do miss having loads of Parsley sauce though. Lunch out probably 1/2 WM sarnie, lovely little sandwich shop happily does whole slice folded over with loads of salad, cold meat etc.

Afternoon all,
Fab! @maman at being back in target 🎉
Hope all the poorlies recover quickly. Think I’m coming down with something. I’ve been cold and shivery too and have a really scratchy throat.
Did the shopping today as tomorrow and Saturday the weather forecast is fairly horrendous. Also took the parents to choose a new rug for their lounge and of course the obligatory new cushions and curtains that goes with it 🙈 I also dropped all the old stuff off at the tip so now ready for a lie down 🤣
Food all on plan so far and it’s chicken curry with rice for dinner.0 -
Thanks for all the kind words. I'm really delighted to be back in range. I don't begrudge paying as SW hasn't had much from me but was sooo slow getting rid of the holiday gain and so many STSs was getting to me.
You're right @joedenise, my next goal is to be in target in 8 weeks time and then I'll be set up for over Christmas and New Year. 👍
We're having a very similar dinner to you but, being greedy, we're having some cold gammon from the freezer with it. I haven't measured the HEAs but can cope if I'm a few syns over.
Sorry to hear so many are feeling poorly. We have our jabs next week so hope we can dodge any bugs. 🤞
My SC is looking decidedly scruffy and I think it's time for a new one. I've had this one for years. It's a 3.7l Crockpot which is proving very hard to replace. Which brands do you all have? Would you recommend them? 🤔
Not sure if it's national but I bought frylight from Farmfoods today at £1.29 which is even better value than Aldi own brand.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S),
L- small prawn salad (P, S), lentil soup (P, S)
D- gammon (P), SW chips (F), cauliflower cheese (S, HEA x2)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1

DH has bloods tomorrow at 8.30! It's his birthday next Tuesday , he said all i want is a Chinese takeaway from the Chinese , that's that sorted then 🤣

Morning all, it's very wet and windy here this morning. The rain woke me in the early hours a couple of times but it has at least stopped raining at the moment. Supposed to be like this for tomorrow as well.
I've got the 3.5l Crockpot as well @maman. Mine's still OK so haven't really thought about what to buy when I need a new one. It's getting to the season for using it more now. I've ordered the PON Slow Cooker book from Amazon and that's arriving today. I'm hoping for a few recipes to give me some new ideas but who knows! Would be good if I can find recipes which will make use of what I already have in the freezer/fridge/cupboards.
I don't think you've got an air fryer so have you thought about getting something like one of the multiuse ones like the Ninja 11 in 1 (or one of the others) which would incorporate a SC as well as various other things like pressure cooker, air fryer, dehydrater. Having said that I do wonder whether having so many uses whether they actually do any of the jobs well!
Today's plan:
B - stuffed mushrooms - HEA2; P; S; F
L - chicken fajitas - HEB; P; S
D - Spanish rice - P; S; F; 3.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - SW wrap
Syns - chorizo 3.5; may have a G&T or 2 tonight 6
Have a good day everyone.
Edited to say: I weighed this morning and have lost a paltry 0.2lb but at least it's in the right direction!0 -
I've got a slow cooker with the metal insert so can sear on the hob, though i rarely do as I like to save washing up by using the slow cooker liners. Not sure they are mse as about 20p each.
I desperately wanted the one with the "keep warm" function but I seldom use it.
Am in hairdresser waiting for hilights to take. Breakfast was an aldi low fat sausage in one slice of seeded bread as it was all we had, and that had to be defrosted!0
