Morning all, another bright day with a bit of breeze.  Machine load of washing done and out on the line.  No plans for today although think I may at least get the drawstring for my shorts done but nothing else I can do unless I can sort out the buttonholes on the machine.  Will try again on some scrap fabric to see if I can get it working but not holding my breath!

Well done on being in target (just) @bubbs.  Think @maman's right - you need some Percy pigs or maybe more doughnuts to make sure you don't drop out of bottom end again!  Good luck with that.  Wish that's where I am rather than out the other end, LOL!

    Today's plan:

    B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
    L - burger, onions, gherkins, soft pitta - HEB; S; 0.5
    D - duck leg, roast potatoes, veg - S; F; 8?

    HEA - milk
    HEB - soft pitta
Syns - sausages 2; burger 0.5; duck 8?  Can someone check for me please?  Many thanks.

    Have a good day everyone.

Sainsburys duck legs with skin on (220g) are 9 syns @joedenise so that seems a good base for working out the syns for yours.
    Back soon. 😊

    Thanks for the encouragement folks.
i had a bacon, tomato and light Philly pitta before I went out yesterday. Ds decided to bring us a mini picnic of a chicken and salad wrap so 6 syns for the wrap. We walked around a NT place we hadn’t visited before which was very nice as it had a lift so we explored the house together. Ds can often only access the ground floor as due to the age of the building they’re not wheelchair accessible. We visited a town about an hour and half away from home and had a lovely walk around the bend of the river which was very nearly circular, so I got quite a few steps in over the day. I’ll definitely go back and explore more as there were a lot of old historic buildings and a castle. I can’t believe we’ve never been before. The carpark allows overnight MHs too 😀. Anyway I digress…..we couldn’t get into the burger place we wanted to go to so ended up in an old style Wimpy that served the food on a plate instead of a cardboard box. I had an old style wimpy grill…..hard to syn but it was 800 calories so much less than the burgers in buns 👍 and definitely less than the place we’d planned to go to.
Funnily enough my consultant has also been mentioning calories and nutritional values of foods rather than focusing on free foods as much as they used to.
Ive got a piece of beef, carrots, celery and onion and a small bottle of beer in the slow cooker. I’ll shred and serve that with carrot and swede with cabbage and air fried potatoes. It’ll do us a couple of days and then I’ll freeze the rest.
Breakfast was bacon, Philly 3 syns, tomato and Sheldon’s heb bread roll.
Snacks will be fruit and I’ve made a jelly 😀
All the dressmaking talk is inspiring me to get my machine out……but it’ll have to wait until we come back from Wales.

Thanks @maman.  Not a bad guess at 8 then!

Sounds like you had a really good day @milann.  A bonus that you ended up in an old style Wimpy rather than the burger place so less syns had there.

The slow cooker meal sounds lovely and not too synful when spread over the number of meals you'll get from it.

Glad it's inspiring you to get your machine out!

Pleased to say that DH managed to sort out the buttonholer for me!  Good old U-tube!  At least I've been able to get on with the shorts now.  I've made the drawstring and casing has been attached (after buttonholes made on front piece.  Just need to press the seam before making rows of stitching to enable 3 lots of elastic to be threaded through at the same time - that should be fun!!!

After that it will just be the hems to finish I think.

You guessed well for the duck syns @joedenise. I thought the Sainsburys value was useful as it gave the weight.

I'm wondering whether the mention of calories is a deliberate thing with the new look Image Therapy @milann. Pleased you found an old school burger place. I like burgers but as far as the buns are concerned in some places you might as well eat the cardboard box! 🤣

Pleased that you managed to sort out the button holer. I've taken our sewing machine in for servicing @joedenise. It's actually DD1's machine but it lives with me and she 'borrows' it when she needs it or uses it here. It was a birthday gift years ago when she was living at home but hasn't ever been serviced so when the tension was playing up, even though I got it working, I thought I'd get it looked at. It's going to be weeks before it comes back as the engineer is on holiday and they have loads of work as there are so few of them around.

    Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, strawberries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
    L- JP (F), prawns (P), salad (S)
    D- chicken casserole (P, S, F)
Syns - LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1, weekend wine 😁

I'm going to contact a service centre fairly locally and see how busy they are.  There's another one in one of Whitstable which is only about an hour or so away so could take it there but I know they're extremely busy and it months rather than weeks waiting for them!

Pleased to say I managed to get the casing, elastic and drawstring done.  It was pretty slow going doing 3 parallel rows of elastic at the same time and just as slow getting the drawstring through on top of one of the rows of elastic.  If I make another pair I think I'll just do 2 rows of elastic with the drawstring through the middle one, don't think it's really necessary to have the extra row of elastic.
