Morning all, hot here too @bubbs and going to get even warmer later.  We're forecast 25 this afternoon and getting warmer as the week goes on.  Even with the door open it's 24 in the living room.

Have put a machine load of whites on and will get it out on the line shortly.  Not going to take long to dry as there's a bit of breeze although not much.

Planning on making a curry for dinner tonight.  Will do that shortly so that all I need to do later is reheat it and cook some rice to go with it.  Also need to prep the chicken for fajitas.

    So today's plan:

    B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickles - HEA2; HEB; S
    L - chicken fajitas - P; S; 6
D - butternut squash, chickpea and black bean curry, rice - P; S; F (black beans not used yesterday - wouldn't normally add to this curry but not going to waste them!)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - SW wrap 6

    Have a good day everyone.

Morning!  It’s forecast 25 today and 27 tomorrow, so excited 😁😁.

I should be a skinny Minnie with the amount of washing I do, no time to eat haha. Talking of which there’s two loads of bedding already on the line. I was up at 6am, it’s amazing how sun and warmth can make you feel good.

I’ve changed my food plans around to use up some leftovers. So for the first time in ages I’m making different meals for DS2 and I. It’s not a hardship as he’s having beef olives and I wouldn’t touch them!

    Today’s food:
    B - fruit and yoghurt 1.5 syns
L - soft pitta HEXB, tuna, salad, salad cream 1.5 syns, apple, melon
D - Spanish omelette, salad, pickles

    Have a good day everyone.

So pleased you're getting a share of the sun @Jellybaby. You're right that good weather does lift the spirits.😎 Well done for using up leftovers! 👍🏼 I like the fact that this thread shows that you definitely can eat healthily without spending a fortune.

It's due to reach 27 degrees here. 🥵 Fortunately I repped tonight's dinner yesterday so just need to reheat briefly and do some veg.

I have a Vanish bar that I unearthed when emptying my old kitchen @bubbs and, like you, I add a scoop of stain removal powder for good measure. Shame you didn't get the tomato sauce stain out @beanielou.☹️

How are you doing @Wilmaknickersfit? Good to see you posting.

I'm sure the black beans will work out fine in your curry @joedenise. DH questioned what was in the chilli last week and they were black chickpeas. I picked up a few tins of black and white chickpeas cheaply in Farmfoods a while back. They both taste the same.

We had the last of the keema curry for dinner last night. It seems to have lasted forever. I plan to make chicken curry next as I fancy a change. I'm going to try this one with a few tweaks to make it syn free.

It's WI for me tonight. I'm not hopeful but will keep on plodding! I've stuck to plan, within syns for the week and just hope for anything (but a gain of course!🤣).

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
    L- lentil soup (P,S)
D- Austrian ham hash (P,S,F), cauli and broccoli (S)
    Syns-0

Remember to drink plenty of water everyone, good for your health and for SW.🤗

Good luck for WI this evening @maman.  Only a few more weeks until you can start your morning WIs again.

The chicken curry recipe you've linked is very similar to one I make although I use thighs not breast as I think it tastes better and also doesn't dry out so easily, even if it is pain getting rid of the fatty bits!  I don't toss the chicken pieces in the spice mix I like to mix it in the pan with the onions & garlic before adding the chicken and then coating the pieces in the spicy onion mix, cook it a while before adding the tomatoes and a pinch of sweetener to take off the sharpness and then just let the chicken cook through.  I usually make enough for a couple of meals as don't usually have much freezer space so it tends to be one for today and another for the freezer!

There's plenty of the butternut squash, chickpea and black bean curry so tonight and then probably 2 x 2 portion meals for the freezer.

We'll be eating quite a lot of butternut squash over the coming months as I've been growing them and have had a good year.  So far I have picked 5, have another one almost ready to pick and a couple of smaller ones which I'm pretty certain will grown better with the big ones picked.  I've got 2 already stored in a cupboard, 2 on the spare bedroom Windows sill and I've given one to my neighbour who waters the garden when we're away for a month!

What do you think Indians eat?  They're temperatures are always in the 30s!  It actually cools you down.  A bit like a cup of tea does.

My skirt is coming along nicely.  Have finished the waistband and inserted the zip.  Just the hem left to do now.  The waistband was a new technique for me.  It definitely looks better than just a turned waistband but a bit more of a faff to do.

I have some skirts with fixed waist bands @joedenise. They're really good at letting you know when you've gained a few pounds! 🤣
