Well done on your loss @Jellybaby.👍🏼I'll join you with the plodding!!😁
Not sure what I think about dropping into another target range @bubbs, probably just jealous!🤣
Good to see you posting @TakeItEazy. I do hope you're really enjoying your summer break even if you don't know what day it is.😁 I think, becasue I choose to keep my syns for weekends, it gives a structure to my week. I have found weighing on a Tuesday evening very strange though after so many years of Thursday mornings. Come September I'll be pleased to be back to a morning group.
It's strange @jodenise but I never even think about lollies or ice cream at home but on holiday we were having Magnum with caramel and almonds at 12 syns each!
I feel so fat and I'm fed up with it as I can't seem to shift anything despite sticking to plan. It's our wedding anniversary this week and I'm determined to enjoy a meal out . Maybe it will shake things up!🤔🤣
It's a glorious day here and the start of our football season so that means ...Crunchie time!😁
Today's plan-
B- HEB porridge, strawberries, raspberries (S), banana (F), HEA milk
L- JP (F), chilli (P,S), salad (S)
D- Chicken jambalaya (P,S,F)
Syns- half Crunchie 3 and probably a few G&Ts for a change.0 -
I am afraid I haven't done anything good today, but I am hoping now that I have got all shopping and fuel purchases done, I may now avoid all those tricky things like going grocery shopping with a list and failing to strictly follow it and ending up with a few things I should have avoided. I normally get online shop which really helps, I need to get myself in a routine again.
Then to top it off I also went to the garage for fuel and because I was feeling particularly weak I bought a few snacks and I have almost finished them.
I think it is emotional eating because I am sad my room mate has left me, it was nice having him around, it almost felt like having a boyfriend, and now he is gone, also I haven't had a job for a while and although I am good at getting interviews I am also good at getting rejections, well apart from the fact I take it as personal blow.
I am at home alone and all I can think about is this what I have to come for life? My parents seem that little bit older and when they do eventually hit the bucket which may happen sooner or later, I worry what will become of me then, not financially althugh that is a worry also as I have had support from them lately, but will I just have no one?
A lot of people on here say that it is better to be alone then to be in a knightmare relationship, but I could do with some company albeit not torturous or emotionally problematic. Maybe if I get a job I should just live alone, then I can get used to being alone before I had a lodger I had almost everything I needed except from future proofing my life, no close contact is under the age of 80! Just saying that reminds me that I need to try and find a close companion or can I be alone again and actually thrive?
I think I need to remember what it is like to live alone, as I was okay before the lodger, the lodger is going to get married to his fiance so I need to get a grip and get a job, once mentally I am not on my knees then I can really focus on weight loss. However I need to reign it in and I will feel better just by not having a spendy day, I did all the spending today so the rest of the week there should be no need to spend.
@joedenise Well done for using up the free electric, very MSE of you!
Thanks @TakeItEazy I have tried to express everything that I am facing above in hopes that I might get some insight and maybe the right kind of support, right now I am struggling with even doing the right things like stopping spending, avoiding junk food and being in control. It is like I am not trying at all, or I don't have the capability to do anything successfully - I think the big problem is I am using the credit card and I don't have a lodger or a job, so I am a bit stressed.
I think I need to get something sussed and fast, I have an interview coming up I will try my best for that, I will revisit spare room for lodgers and generally do the best I can in the conditions. Perhaps I am being hard on myself I can hear a friend say. I am only human.
Okay so mission damage control, tomorrow cook the lasagne it is the only cooking I need to do for the week everything else is mostly ready so to speak.
Maybe approach MD & SFD about a receiving some financial help through this time rather then worry, they have helped a lot already, perhaps they can just sort me a little bit more just until I get right again, I think they could help a little. I am worried I will never get a job again, as it has really been a year ago that I had a decent job, it is a very long time, I don't seem to be able to get beyond one interview, I was very open about what my limitations are perhaps too much so, I don't know but I seem to have quite a few issues in this area, why can't it be issue free and I get a 9-5 and enjoy work to some degree. Well the good news is I am getting interviews, So I am still in with a chance!
I am sorry about all the slef talking it is really therapeutic and helpful, I am just deciding now whether to post or delete?1 -
Glad you decided to post rather than delete @CrazyBee787.
Emotional eating is common but I really can assure you that if you try really hard to lose some weight then it's something you can control which will give you a boost.
And buying snacks in petrol stations isn't very mse either! 🤣2 -
CrazyBee how about volunteering until you secure a permanent job, would look good on your CV too, even if just a few hrs a week and gets you out of a rut of being stuck in .

Morning all, another lovely day, very bright, warm and virtually no breeze. Planning on getting on with making my skirt at some stage today as I had the interfacing I need to finish cutting everything out. Yesterday I got as far as stitching the darts. Now need to get the iron and board out to press so as the interfacing will also need the iron it made sense to leave it until I'd got the interfacing before getting everything out as have to put it up in the kitchen as no room in my sewing room!
@CrazyBee787 - I'm sure most charity shops don't really expect people to stay with them for a long time so I really think it's worth looking into. Perhaps when you pop in to ask let them know that you're hoping to get a full time job but it's taking a fair bit of time so far. I don't think you should dismiss the idea without actually looking into it.
Have made some changes to today's plan as realised I didn't have an HEB planned again. Don't think it's a good idea to miss out on the fibre!
So today's plan is now:
B - sausage and onion sandwich - HEB; S; 5
L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
D - roast gammon, roast potatoes, broccoli, green beans, peas - P; S; F
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; lf spread 3
Have a good day everyone.1 -
Hi @joedenise I have been to a charity shop and they said they needed someone to commit because of the training involved - it was a book shop which interested me! However MD said there was a bookkeeper role available in the village a few hours I am going to see about signing up to it, I could commit to a few hours for that and that would be extra beneficial to me. Thank youXX0

Morning! It’s actually dry here so there’s a load of towels already on the line and another load of whites swirling away as I type.
Taking aunt for her shopping this morning and hoping to have a (delicate) chat with her about what help she might need going forward. Dreading it but I simply can’t do it all.
We’re having the same dinner @joedenise 😁
Today’s food:
B - strawberries, nectarine, apple, protein yoghurt 1.5 syns
L - cheese salad sandwich using HEXA and B, pickles
D - roast ham, roast potatoes, broccoli , cauliflower and carrots
I love when the whole dinner can go in the oven - and there’s leftovers 😁
Have a smashing day everyone.0 -
Was it just 6 weeks you maintained for @bubbs. It felt like months and months! I remember we suggested more syns. That's not a problem I have. 🤣
I deliberately cook loads on a Sunday to give me LOs @Jellybaby. Fortunately, our dining room is north facing so we'll be having a roast today despite the weather.
Hope the sewing goes well @joedenise. How did the Thai fishcakes go? 🤔
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham (P), savoury rice (F, S), beetroot (S)
D- roast chicken dinner (P S, F)
Syns - gravy 4, weekend wine 😁
