Morning all, it's cloudy again this morning but hopefully brightening up. It's still warm though.
Sorted out another pattern, another skirt one, and traced it off yesterday, sorted out some fabric and got it the pieces cut out. Also need some interfacing and found I haven't got enough so am going to have to order some. Will get that done today and should arrive tomorrow.
Not sure if I'll get anything sewn today as having my friend's dogs this morning while the removal guys pack up her place although it doesn't look like her move is going ahead now. There's a problem with someone further down the chain and she won't actually know whether it's happening until 11am! That's the deadline for exchange and completion to go ahead. Must be really frustrating (and expensive as removal company still need paying even if she doesn't actually move!)
Weighed this morning and I'm still 0.8lb above top end of target range! I have at least had a small loss of 0.6lb so at least it's in the right direction. Can I shift a lb this week? I can but try.
It's hard doing SP @milann, particularly when you have a "helpful DH!" but at least you were still on plan even if it wasn't quite what you'd planned. Just try again today and even if it doesn't turn out to be an SP day it will just turn into an EE day. Good luck for today.
Good to see you post again this morning @CrazyBee787. Have you made a plan for what you will be eating today? If not, it really is a good idea. I'm a bit sad really as I plan a month at a time but there are often changes during the month but usually just swapping meals around as has happened today due to changing something yesterday! DH didn't want the same meal again today. So today's plan:
B - Cheese omelette - HEA2; P
L - burger, onions, soft pitta, gherkin slices - HEB; S; 0.5
D - Lasagne, salad, garlic bread - P; S; 12
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - soft pitta
Syns - burger 0.5; cheese sauce mix 4; garlic bread 8?
Can someone check the syns for the garlic bread for me please?

Morning all, it’s raining here again 🙄 my new master plan is to visit you all for a week at a time and as well as feed me your lovely meals I’ll get sun and warmth 🤣🤣🤣
App says pre-sliced garlic bread, standard slice is 5.5 amd 5 if reduced fat @joedenise If it’s a brand I might be able to pin it down further but 5.5 is less than I thought it’d be.
Welcome along @CrazyBee787 we’re a helpful, friendly bunch. I’m losing weight mainly for health reasons and I’ve found the SW plan suits my stomach issues. My mental health is also boosted when I eat well and keep my mind active. I agree with others, if you can plan your meals, even a day in advance and stick with what you plan then you’ll see a difference and it will get easier the more you do it.
Shopping list is done and I’m off shortly to collect parents for their weekly trip. Dad has already said he wants to go for lunch so baked potato for me! I’m getting through a fair amount of fruit so will be on the lookout for some Bubbs bargains.
Today’s food:
B - strawberries, mango, apple with yoghurt 1.5 syns
L - baked potato with cheese HEXA2, salad
D - chicken and veg skewers, SW chips, salad
Have a good day everyone.1 -
Hello everyone,
Sorry for my absence. Lots going on that I won't bore you all with, but in a nutshell I've left the job because there were just too many instances of 'jump, how high' and for a Band 3 simple admin role it was draining. I only had to give a week's notice as was still in probationary period, so last day was Monday. Line manager didn't speak to me for the last week which was very awkward - so glad I didn't have to do a month's notice.
I have spent my days this week finishing off some decorating in DS2's bedroom as he and DD are in Cyprus visiting my Dad this week. Have also helped DH at the school caretaker job as he needed an extra pair of hands for a few things, plus spent some time crafting.
Back on thread topic(!) food has been odd this week as just the two of us. We had the whole family over on Sunday for a BBQ and over-catered so Monday and Tuesday were spent using up the meat and sides (SW potato salad, coleslaw and a SW pasta and bean salad). Wednesday was on plan with a SW beef chilli stir fry which did two nights worth. Tonight we are going to the pub for fish n chips as it's the last night just the two of us.
I am shopping with Mum tomorrow so will make a plan for next week. We have a family holiday to the US in two week's time, so need to keep on track to have the energy for that as we have lots of activities planned including hiking.
I'm sorry I haven't been around for the medical results for you and your loved ones - sending hugs to you all. Also welcome @CrazyBee787 - good to have you here with us. I'm very hit and miss atm with SW but when I follow the plan I feel so much better about myself and life in general. It's great to take that control back and have more energy. Please stick around.
Have a good day everyone.

The garlic bread is from Tesco. Think it's one of their "own" brands called Food Company. The trouble with saying a standard slice is "what exactly is a standard slice?" I have absolutely no idea. This garlic bread is a small baguette size one.1
-
I've found something called The Hearty Food Company from Tesco online @joedenise. It's 29 syns for the whole baguette or 8.5 for the 50g you asked for. HTH.😋
Good to see you posting @Coxy11. I suspected you wouldn't stay in that job so thank goodness you only had to give a week's notice. Hopefully you'll find something else soon if that's what you want.🤗 You're doing really well this week on food, both SW friendly and mse.👍🏼 Enjoy your last night of freedom and the fish and chips.🤣
It's warming up well and dry and sunny here. You'd be very welcome to come down south @Jellybaby. Let us know when and I'll make extra meatballs.😁
I've never tried to do a week of SP @milann as I think I'd find it restrictive but I totally agree with your consultant that you should look at it as a spectrum. The pendulum analogy is a good one. I have a few SP meals that I enjoy like omelettes with pickles and salad or cottage pie made with swede and carrot mash. Mostly though I try to make sure I've got way more than a third of a plate of Speed and try to limit the portion sizes of carbs. I always measure rice and pasta and make a very limited amount of boiled/roast potatoes but I can go a bit mad on chips. When we have beans and chips with sausages or something, I try to add some Speed like roast red onions and mushrooms.
It was great to look through the photos of your delicious meals @bubbs. I know you posted them mainly to help @CrazyBee787 but I enjoyed them too. 😋
I do my meal plan on a weekly basis and just for dinners. For breakfast and lunch, I just make sure I have plenty of SW friendly ingredients in and decide on the day. I often make extra at dinner time and have leftovers for lunch the next day. I'm also quite mse and will do my meal plan and shopping list based on what I have in especially anything fresh that needs using up. I batch cook and always have some HM ready meals in the freezer for busy or CBA days.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms and tomatoes (S), HEA milk for drinks
L- sardine salad (S.P)😁
D- Fake KFC (P), patatas bravas (F,S), broccoli, asparagus and whatever I buy when I'm out later (S)
Syns- tbc🤔1 -
Apologies @joedenise I didn’t notice you posted the values for the garlic bread but good Maman caught it.
I got a bargain on strawberries in Lidl earlier - £1.29 for a kilo! Use by today and one or two look a bit grotty but the rest look delicious. Glad I decided to pop in!1 -
I popped into Lidl a couple of days ago and had a coupon for a Free fruit item so I picked up the kg of strawberries - love a free item! DH also had a bakery item for an apple turnover or a pecan plait - he chose the apple turnover and thoroughly enjoyed it! The only thing I paid for was bottle of maple syrup which DH likes on his porridge sometimes.0

Hi @joedenise thank you for welcoming me, I really like the encouragement from everyone, I will plan to write what I am having or had, however I am not quite there yet as not all the meals will be on plan, but my aim over the coming weeks / months will be to do that and to get better at it, and explore different options. Good luck trying to shift that lb.
Thanks @Jellybaby I can see it being a positive thing getting into a control mindset and feeling better mentally, I could do with that. I hope your lunch with papa was good.
Thank you @Coxy11 Everyone is so welcoming if I don't do something positive today I will be very surprised, the cogs are turning, as you continue to share your vision of being on plan so something is bound to rub off on me. Enjoy the US when it arrives 😊.
Hi @maman I would love your patatas bravas recipe if you have time to share please, I like the idea of doing some healthy tapas, or at least that part yum!
Today MD treated me to lunch as I got her groceries I did feel a bit silly starting a diet then wolfing down my choices of pate and fresh bread and choc eclair plus two cans of coke. I didn't have a good brekkie because the milk was bad, however MD treated me to some milk when I did her grocery shop so tomorrow should be better, For dinner tonight I am clearing up some of the quorn nuggets and hm chips with ketchup. I will have some custard like substance for pudding (milk tart no base).
Tomorrow I aim to have 45g of Bran flakes & Milk for brekkie, and JP for lunch with beans I will think about dinner tomorrow, I now need to finalise the shopping list, I do love having cereal for breakfast I am concious that HeB first thing is not the best thing but I am willing I think to forgo bread at lunch, especially while I am not working.
Thinking about recipes, @bubbs please could I have the recipe for the pork pie, It looks rather scrummy.0 -
As you're doing some shopping tomorrow I would suggest that you pick up some salad. It's a great standby particularly for lunch if you don't feel like cooking and can just add a protein element to it like ham, sardines or tuna. It's really worth keeping various tins of things in the cupboard so you have choices.
Quorn nuggets are actually a pretty good choice as I think they're only 0.5 syns each and HM chips as long as you use a 1 cal spray or syn some oil to cook them are pretty low syn.
