Just remembered I said I'd let you know how the jerk sweet potato and black bean curry worked out @maman - well the verdict was it was a nice flavour but definitely too hot for me and just about OK for DH. I had to put yoghurt on mine in order to eat it, DH just had a bit spoonful after to cool his mouth down.
Would I make it again - probably but I'd only use 2 Tbs of jerk seasoning rather than the 3 called for. I used a shop bought jerk seasoning whereas I usually make my own but when I was away in Salisbury there was a great stall in the market full of herbs and spices and I bought a huge jar of jerk seasoning amongst other things so that's what I used - it was definitely much hotter than my home made version.
DH had his physio video session earlier and it went well although he didn't get his full 30 minutes as there was a problem getting into the video link on his iPad so he ended up having to use my MacBook Air as it's the only device that it would load on. The physio was really impressed with how much movement he already has but then he's been exercising regularly since day 3 at least twice a day and usually 3 times. He's got another 2 exercises to do in addition to the 3 he already does. His next appointment is in 3 weeks time (it's the only week free in the next month which is when he wanted to see him again!).

joedenise said:Welcome @CrazyBee787 to our lovely thread, everyone is welcome who is doing Slimming World whether online, going to group or going it alone.
You are right to be using up what you have and it looks as though you're within your syns with what you're having today but going forwards it's best to not buy too many treats and if you do buy them make sure they fit within the plan. I doubt very much that you used a full HEA of milk on your Bran Flakes this morning so I'd syn that and count the 2nd lot of cheese as your 2nd HEA as it will be less syns.
I went to group for about 12 years but stopped going about 18 months ago and am going it alone. I've been out of target by just a lb or 2 in that time. It's not easy staying in target range when you like to get away on holiday, particularly All Inclusive ones! We also have a motorhome and travel frequently in this country. We were away for a month recently and I did pretty well to only put on 2.5lb which I'm still trying to shift!
Good luck with sticking to plan and losing the weight you want to.0 -
Don't give up @CrazyBee787, if you've only been doing SW for a short time I promise it will get easier once you've got your head around the plan.
Why do you think it isn't for you? Is it anything we can help you with? I know the plan can seem complicated to start with but it really isn't once you can get your head around it.
Don't think of it as a diet as it isn't - it's just a healthy way of eating and you can fit nearly everything into the plan.

@CrazyBee787 ….please keep at it. Even if you find it hard going - whatever you achieve will probably be better than giving in.I’ve had some great results in the past and been at target and stayed there for several years then I was very poorly…..lost lots of weight and got into bed habits and put that and more back on. I’ve been back at SW since February and found sticking to it tricky BUT I know if I give up I’d be worse than ever. I think I’ve got my motivation back and am going for it. They’re a friendly group on here and offer lots of helpful advice 😀👍January spends - £587.582

I find I am super hungry on plan and I know you are not suppose to be hungry on plan because you have snacks but there is only so many healthy snacks I can eat. I literally joined today then when I thought I would have to cook something healthy, I just hate what I have been cooking I then bought a pinch of nom book and cancelled, because If I get a job I can't be bothered to cook, tbh nothing excites me in the kitchen except junk food, I literally hate what I cook I have no inspiration and I can't be bothered, I have tried the sw meals in iceland I had a bad one last time which put me off and I never really enjoyed them anyhow, they don't feel like home cooked food. The only things I am willing to do is to find some meals in sainsburys (NOT SW) easy to cook and cut out the take out and garage snacks, however they always call me again, I really have no drive, will power or real interest in losing weight which doesn't help, I don't like the way I look but then I never did when I was slimmer not that I am particulalry ugly but I have never felt like I was beautiful even when slimmer. I know my health is a problem but tbh why live longer when life keeps chucking out dooseys?! I know i enjoy junk food and take out, I know that even when I am slim I never meet Mr. Right, which I always wanted to and never did. If my mum dies I will have no one in my life left, because I don't have friends near by that can be part of a family unit. I haven't got a job and I don't seem to be able to get one, all the dreams I have or had are never going to happen because one I am fat and 2 because I am poor. If I could choose anything it would be to queitly die in my sleep, but because I don't walk anywhere any more then that is probably not going to happen. I am probably going to die of a painful disease which is the only reason I want to lose weight because being slim won't make me look better because I will have loose skin. If I diet and lose all the weight and then die of a painful disease - I will be !!!!!! off If I was always hungry. I know a lot of people say it is difficult all the time, quite frankly I want an easy life, I don't want to be battling the bulge for the rest of my life, life is too short for trying to stop myself eating what I want to eat and eat things I don't really enjoy. What I need is to live in the country again so I can go on lovely walks, I know I would push myself because I know how much I love walking in the country where it is quiet and peaceful. But I am poor and jobless so I can say goodbye to that dream - but hold on a minuite I have a car - however it never feels the same as just getting out your front and going on a nice walk. I drive to MDs where there is country, 15 mins drive by the time I get there I don't feel like walking. I have made a decision right here right now, my mission will be to get another (big or not) Job! (some big people do get jobs and do well) I know I can do well at jobs I just need to get someone to believe that of me, get a job, let out room save as much as possible, pay off mortgage and build up pbs. Then look for a place in the country which is well connected. I would have loved to move to Guernsey, but we can safely say that dream is very unlikely to happen. So it is back to another dream live in the country again, get a job and save for it, cut down the junk and agarage snacks and keep off the stone I have actually lost since last year, admittedly I have put a lb on, but this summer has been irratic, as I read on SW a lot of peops find it difficult this time of year. So Strategy:-
1) Order some food that I know I will like try to include a couple of home cooked meals like lasagne (NOT totally SW friendly but still very good! and Quorn meatballs in tomato sauce HC and add some veg or fruit, maybe cook a free soup now and again especially when the weather cools.
2) Avoid Take out and garage snacks, I know I can do this when I have something in that satisfies. At least try and only have one take out per month, and say no to garage snacks.
3) When I get a job celebrate with bucket list item going to get Chatauebriand meal!
4) Spend time outside at MDs and then if enough energy go for a walk at least a short one.
5) try to avoid getting desserts and baking, one treat a day.
6) be mindful about bad behaviour around food and knuckle down and do better, I only have to try a little bit for success! As opposed to joining SW and having to try beyond my capabilities.
Thank you for all the support but I am outta here, I know my limitations and I cannot do anything about my weight in a meaningful way now, my only mission is to substantially reduce the consumption for junk food and take out.

Shame about the gain @milann but what's done is done and sounds like you're all set to go again. Well done you! 👍
I've thought that maybe I need some different meals to try and shake things up a bit @Jellybaby. Something to work on. 🤔
At least you can tone the recipe down a bit next time, now you know it was the new jerk seasoning that made it so hot.
8 weeks is a long time to wait for results @maddiemay but I always think that if the doctors don't think it's urgent then it's a positive. 🤗
As this is a mse thread @CrazyBee787, it's quite normal to have to eat up what you have in before you can start buying the healthy foods that will help you to lose weight. And it would have been rude not to eat the pudding that your friend made I agree with @beanielou, give yourself a chance to try the plan properly for at least a week. You'll get such a boost when you see the results.
I portioned up the chilli that I made yesterday. It made tonight's dinner, 4 meals for the freezer and a small portion for me to have on a JP in the next couple of days.
I got the chicken out of the freezer to defrost so we'll be joining you for KFC tomorrow @bubbs. 😋
Today's plan -
B- HEB porridge, berries (S), banana (F), HEA milk for drinks
L- ham and egg salad (P, S, F)
D- veggie chilli, brown rice, cottage cheese (P, S, F)
Syns - LTL mayo 10 -
Evening all 😁
First off welcome CrazyBee, don't run off 😁 we are all lovely, we all ask questions, struggle sometimes but most off we SUPPORT each other , not just through SW but through our every day lives too, even if you don't feel SW is for you just now, stop , pull up a seat, have a read , a chat and then you will see how we work, fire questions or even if you do one day and not the next least you are changing your habits, i for one would love more people to join our thread 🥰🥰

Thanks @bubbs in that case I would like to stick around if that is okay, if I successfully avoid junk food/ Take out by posting on here each time I can yes I did avoid x,y,z or no I did not or what I did it would really help I would become accountable to some degree and maybe I could do a list of the good things I did diet health wise, and maybe I will buy a pinch of nom cook book and try something new, potentially it could spiral and be really helpful to me, thank you for the idea...if this is okay, I will try this to start and I already love reading the posts thank for including me.2
