The top is finished @bubbs! Β I've also traced off another pattern, cut it out and have started sewing it. Β Would have carried on a bit longer but I'd already put the iron and board away and need it again for the next bit so will leave that until tomorrow. Β Shouldn't take too long to make this one as it's just 2 pieces - front and back with cap sleeves which are part of the front and back so not a separate step to put them in. Β Have attached the bias binding onto the neck but need to press the seam into it and then fold over and sew it. Β Then it's just a case of turning a hem on the sleeve, sew up side seam and sew a hem.

Then need to find a small button to fasten it with!

    I'm here @bubbs. 😁

Sorry about the STS for you and @Jellybaby. I know it's not what either of you wanted but in different ways. πŸ€”

I couldn't agree more about weight being hard to shift @Suffolksue . My holiday gain was effortless but not so getting rid of it! 🀣

I'm lucky that fruit and veg is excellent in my Aldi @maddiemay . I buy onions from Sainsburys but that's because they sell them loose and I can choose the size.

I was thinking @joedenise that if the fabric is suitable and you have enough then you could make a top in the same colour as the skirt. It would look like a dress worn together and you could wear the top with other things. πŸ€”

We had a lovely day yesterday. DH did all the driving. πŸ₯° I really enjoyed seeing my family and my great niece was the star of the show. The weather was just right, dry and sunny but not too hot for the adults or children.Β

I stuck to plan. πŸ‘ I took a salad with me so only syns in the LTL mayo and a few crisps from DH.Β

    Today's plan -Β
B- HEB toast, eggs (P), mushrooms (S), HEA milk for drinksΒ
    L- JP (F), tuna (P), salad (S)Β
D- beef in 'red wine' (P, S), new potatoes (F), Speed veg (S)Β
Syns - LTL mayo 1, cornflour 1, weekend wine 😁

Unfortunately @maman the skirt fabric is too heavy for a top - it is definitely skirt or trouser weight!

Glad you enjoyed the picnic and that DH did all the driving. Β Well done on sticking to plan, although it helps taking your own food of course.

Yes @joedenise. I think taking your own food was a brilliant idea especially as I could take SW friendly food.Β

It saved my niece a lot of hassle and stress, all she needed to do was organise the cake. Also, she could go home to a tidy house without all the mess and hard work from hosting a party at home. I did similar with my DDs by hiring a hall for birthday parties.Β

Β Some people chose not to eat much just snacks and others bought chips and the like as there were plenty of options available being at the seaside.

Are you going back to Whitby for your holiday @bubbs? πŸ€”

Morning all, no rain here @Jellybaby, just cloudy although it looks like it's trying to brighten up. Β Stay safe up there in Scotland, sounds like the weather is going to be absolutely awful with those horrendous winds. Β Our forecast is cloudy but dry for the next 10 days - the garden could do with some of that rain you're getting!

I woke up about 4 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep so gave up and got up about 5! Β I'll probably be knackered by mid afternoon!

    Today's plan:

    B - Weetabix - part HEA2; HEB
    L - minced beef hash - P; S; F
    D - LO roast chicken, chips, beans, mushrooms, pickles - P; S; F

    HEA1 & 2 - milk
    HEB - Weetabix
    Syns - none planned

    Have a good day everyone.

There's a chance of rain until this evening but just a light shower so far and it's quite warm too. Sorry to hear you've both been up since silly o'clock @Jellybaby and @joedenise.

I'm still feeling decidedly fat so not expecting anything tomorrow. It's our wedding anniversary next week and I had hoped to be back in target by then. I'm trying to be philosophical about it so my plan is to keep plodding until then, enjoy the meals out and then just get back to it for as long as it takes.

I've also contacted the GP just in case this new medication for my back is causing a problem although reading online any weight gain would be because of increased appetite rather than the medication itself. I want to stop taking it anyway as the pain has gone.Β

I'm going dancing tonight for the first time in about 2 months so maybe a bit of exercise will help.

I made a batch of meatballs yesterday and at some point I want to cook chilli and some braised red cabbage for the freezer. Tonight we're having the last of the keema curryπŸ‘πŸΌand then I can think about trying the chicken recipes.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs, ham (P), tomatoes (S)
L- LO casserole and pickled red cabbage (P,S,F)
D- keema curry and rice (P,S,F)
    Syns- mango chutney 2
