Well done @jellybaby and @TakeItEazy on your losses.  Well done @bubbs on your lb gain!  How much do you need to put on this week to get back into target?  Seems like you need to do the same again this week as far as you can to gain again.

@Jellybaby - It's probably best to go by the recommended amount on the packet of rice and pasta and then gauge it from there as how much you need to cook.  I don't like cold rice or pasta so try to cook the right amount.  I use 2 x 80ml cup measures of rice for DH and I - DH has more than half of it though as I don't need that much.  It usually means there's no leftovers to freeze.

Pasta I just eyeball as can see by how much is in the pan if it's enough and it seems to work for me!

TIE - that's bad with the Kidney Centre people not turning up especially as you had to take unpaid leave to be there.

Well done on your results today @bubbs, @Jellybaby and @TakeItEazy.👍🏼

I know none of you are really satisfied but they're all a step in the right direction.

All you can do is try and have a few treats again this week @bubbs to try and put on that 0,5lbs but I know it's easier said than done. Start with the weekend wine gums!🤣

I'm not sure where you are in relation to your target weight @TakeItEazy but you do seem to be fairly stable despite the various tummy problems and huge stress. Enjoy Half Term!

If I'd given up alcohol and I didn't lose I'd be furious @Jellybaby. It seems that recently you're not losing to SW's weekly pattern so I'd just keep plodding and it'll show in the end. How much more have you got to lose?🤔

I use a spaghetti measure like this @Jellybaby

It's just the end of an old spaghetti spoon.

I think @joedenise is right though and that the packets are a good guide. My packet of spaghetti says 100g per person but the measure takes 83g and we find it enough. For pasta like penne I weigh out 100g each and that's fine.

Generally I batch cook rice and make up my own pouches with 250g of cooked rice as that's the size the bought packets are. If I do want to cook for just one meal then I have a cup which is just over 250ml capacity and filling that with dried rice works for us. These are two person portions.

I definitely agree that 'fill your boots' with free food is silly advice. Surely to keep a balance of food values you need to up your Speed and protein to match??🤔 I'm very careful to have my third (at least) of Speed every day although I often balance it out across a day rather than per meal.

    Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, eggs, bacon (P), baked beans (F)
    L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), salad (S)
    D - Keema curry (P,S,F), pilau rice (F)
Syns - maybe mango chutney?, weekend wine😊

Thanks for the tips on the pasta and rice. I could eat pasta for every meal so maybe the quantity is something else I need to look at!  Ideally I’d like to lose another 1.5 stone @maman to get BMI I into healthy range but I don’t want to look scrawny so will see how it goes. At the rate I’m losing it’s going to be a long process 🤣

Hope you can rest up @TakeItEazy and enjoy half term.

Up the wine gums! @bubbs   Your waffle sandwich looks soo tasty!

My SIL got a M&S TGTG bag last night and it had three portions of salmon and two packs of the spicy king prawns in it which are all now in my freezer. She hates fish!

What an amazing TGTG bag @Jellybaby and how lucky for you that your SIL hates fish! 🤣

I bought some chilli and coriander prawns yesterday just for me to snack on and thank you for reminding me to defrost some for my lunch tomorrow. Its become a Sunday treat for me as DH will be at work and he doesn't like seafood.

    Hi all,

Well done on your results @Jellybaby and @TakeItEazy - so sorry you have had a stressful week xx
@bubbs - let's hope you can gain that 0.5lb this week - feels so wrong saying that!

For pasta I usually do 100g and rice 75g per person @Jellybaby but a lot of the SW recipes I follow serve 4 so I do 300/225 and tbh we always have a portion spare for a lunch the next day.

I have sacrificed a gorgeous notebook to use as a food diary, and have listed today's food in colour-coded pens! Have also written down the good things I've done today which include crafting for the first time in ages. I made two pocket pack tissue covers from an online tutorial. One for me and one for Mum.

B - protein bagel thin, poached egg, scraping of butter - HEB, P, 1
L - JP, cheese, lettuce, beetroot, tomatoes, gherkins, pink pickled onions - 1, HEA, S
D - BNS and chilli risotto - Free
    HEA - milk
    Syns - skinny bar 4, JP 1, butter 1, 3 x biscuits 6 - so currently on 12.

The BNS risotto always makes more than 4 portions, so will freeze the extras for packed work lunches.

Have finally gone through the sensitivity test results and made a full list of what I'm intolerant to. Have made my shopping list accordingly. I take Fruit n Fibre for breakfast with 0% protein Greek yog - I'm wheat and lactose sensitive - what can I have instead that's easy to pack up. I know about overnight oats but what can I have that's not yog?? Also sensitive to aspartame!

    Have a good evening all

Agree that's a great TGTG bag and well done for getting it into your freezer as your SIL hates fish.  I love all fish and seafood.  I'm pleased to say DH does too although not so much salmon so we don't have salmon as a meal very often but it's always in my fish pasta bake and fish pie so he still gets his oily fish.

Enjoy your chilli and coriander prawn @maman.  Where were they from as can't say I've seen them anywhere I've shopped recently?  I agree they sound a lovely Sunday treat.
