Afternoon all, sunny here too. There's some rain forecast over the south east but doesn't look like we'll be getting any at the moment!
Have made DH some pear chutney this morning as had run out. Used a pack of the small pears from Aldi so fairly cheap to make as had everything else in stores. It's made 2 medium sized jars plus almost a full small one so should keep him going for a while!
Still got marmalade to make. Might do that this afternoon if I feel like it and can find enough jars to wash and sterilise as it's makes 6lb!
Yesterday turned out to be a completely off plan day as DD1's partner did a BBQ with lamb and mint burgers and sausages so both high syn. There was also chicken & pepper skewers so I had a couple of those. Also filled my plate with salad (no dressing). However most of the syns came from the wine! I'm going to need to be low syn for the rest of the week if I'm to have any chance of STS (or hopefully a small loss!)
Today's plan:
B - porridge, mixed berries - HEB; S; F
L - mushroom omelette, salad - P; S
D - cold roast pork, chips, beans - P; F
HEA - milk
HEB - porridge
Syns - none planned
Have a good day everyone.0 -
It's warm and sunny here too but some thunderstorms are likely tomorrow and then changeable in the next week or so.
You're being very industrious with the chutney and promised marmalade @joedenise. Good for you! My DH has to put up with shop bought onion chutney. I'd say I'm lazy but perhaps I take more well-being time like @Jellybaby!🤣 I bought some YS in Aldi after Christmas and he enjoyed it so much that I've tried him on the Aldi own brand and he likes it.
Hope you're feeling better today @TakeItEazy. You must have been feeling rough to take a day off school. I know you had some tests, what's the current diagnosis?🤔
That gammon looks so lean @bubbs. I think I'll put it on the shopping list as it tastes so much better than packet ham and I love to use the stock for soup even at this time of the year.
Enjoy your fish and chips @Coxy11.😋 I'd certainly prefer to have that than sprout slaw.🤢
I called into the surgery this morning on my way to walking group and I'm hovering right at the top of target range (0.4lbs over). I'd probably be OK on SW scales. I plan to weigh next week so I want to be really good before then. I'm going to keep a diary from Thursday which is my usual WI day.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, 2 eggs, bacon (P), baked beans (F), HEA milk
D- JP (F), chilli (P,S), salad (S)
D- sausages, mash, LO gravy (F), carrots, greens, onions (S)
Syns- BGTY sausages 2
The gravy is from either Hairy Bikers or beef in 'red wine' which only has 1 syn when I first made it so not worth counting!

Annoying about the clique-y group members @bubbs - I agree that BNS chips are most definitely not a tweak - ridiculous!
@Jellybaby it's the Nadiya Hussain sprout slaw:

Thanks for looking in the haberdashery shop @Coxy11. Looks like I'm going to have to wait until we can get to Ramsgate. Not sure when that's likely to be though as we generally only go there when we take the motorhome to Canterbury and it's still not back from the garage so we won't be going anytime soon!
I used to make the onion chutney quite regularly (you're right @bubbs - it stinks). But DH has decided he much prefers the pear chutney.
Decided against making the marmalade this afternoon and done a bit of crafting instead! Have also spent some time sitting in the garden as it's so nice but can only do that for so long before I get bored!0 -
Denise, glad it wasn't just me that thought it stunk 😂
Honest to go they are so far up her backside surprised they don't pop out her mouth 😂
Thanks, glad you like me 😁😁

Morning all, it's a bit grey and apparently there are a few showers around the area but I'm taking a chance and doing a machine load of washing and as long as it isn't raining when it's finished I'll hang it out in the hopes that we miss the showers!
Need to pop to the farm shop as realised we only have one potato left and I need mash tonight so will need to buy some. Will also pick up some onions while I'm there as only have a couple of those left.
Looking after my friend's dogs today as she's had to go into the office today - first time in about 2 years! She works from home usually but something needs to be done to her laptop in order for her to be able to continue using it.
Today's plan:
B - boiled eggs, asparagus - P; S
L - beef crumble, veg - HEB; 0.5 HEA; P; S
D - fish pie, veg - P; S; F; 3.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese (will add the other half before I cook the crumble)
HEB - oats
Syns - cheese sauce 3.5
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning! It’s roasty toasty here already. Think this is our last really warm day before getting cooler then rain from Saturday boo!I’m about to head out to Pilates, then the library for more books (obviously) and a quick dash into our Sainsbury’s local to pick up more salad stuff and see if I can get some Brussels sprouts 🤞
Today’s food:
Breakfast- banana, yoghurt 1.5 syns, coffee
Lunch - soft pitta HEXB, bacon medallions, mushrooms, tomatoes
Dinner - prawns, huge salad, boiled eggs, new potatoes and hopefully some sprout slaw. 5 syns for seafood sauce (I’d normally make my own but using up a jar my mum gave me)Have a good day everyone!0
