That makes sense to use up the jar of Marie Rose sauce as you've got syns to spare @Jellybaby. I wonder what you'll think of it after getting used to HM?🤔
I was thinking on Monday when @Coxy11 was eating up the LO barbecue food that we should put mse first on this site. Of course, it's even better if we have LO food that's SW friendly too.😁 I think we can easily dispel the idea that doing SW has to be expensive. Hopefully @bubbs does well at the Company Shop today which will definitely prove a point!
We have some fine rain rather than the thunderstorms that were forecast @joedenise . Maybe they'll come later this afternoon? The garden certainly looks fresher for it. It's then meant to be dry again for a couple of days so will get the washing done then.
We were awake, washed and had breakfast early this morning as electricians were meant to be coming. They are putting up outside light and power point for the builder now that the outside of extension is finished. No sign of them and then DH realised he'd misread the email and it's next Wednesday!🥱
I got out my notebook to start food diary this morning and noticed I've not done one for a year! That's a positive sign as I only write one when I really need to get back into target. This time it's because I want to be sure I'm in range before my holiday.
Today's plan-
B- HEB toast, 2 eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes (S), HEA1 milk for drinks
L- ham (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
D- spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce (P,F,S), HEA2 Parmesan
Syns- 00 -
We've still not had any rain to speak of just a couple of episodes of spitting for about 5 minutes although according to the radio a while back we might be hit by a tornado as well as thunderstorms! Looking at the sky at the moment it doesn't even look like rain never mind thunderstorms.
Maybe I should try a food diary for a few weeks until we go on holiday to try and get back into target! Think I'll do that after WI on Friday morning which is my next weigh day.
Still not made the marmalade so think it's probably going to be Friday before I chance now as tomorrow we are going to Faversham, having lunch out and then going to DD1s to see our DGD who is visiting with her new boyfriend and we haven't seen since our Wales holiday. She's just come back from Corfu where she went with DD2 for a week.
Your DH sounds a bit like mine @maman - he often misreads emails and/or letters! He doesn't even know what day of the week it is half the time! It's a good job I can keep track of his various appointments, LOL!

Evening all
We were supposed to have storms and all sorts today, not even had a drip!
Went company shop, didn't get alot but did gets, bacon 90p, some ready to eat chciken tikka big packs £1.25, 2 small gammon joint £1.50, some dry shampoo £1 , cravendale milk 50p, some lovely looking pork loin steaks, £1.50. horseshoe twin pack gammon steaks, we have some for tea and they were lovely, they were £3 though
From Asda i got a pack of 4 silentnight pillows for £6.60, bold 13 capsule packs £1 😁
Absolutely fuming this afternoon! I had an email late last night saying by car insurance will be cancelled on 29/5, i rang this afternoon to find out why? they looked and said couldn't see anything apart from the under writers said i didnt pass the validation request 😡 i said why not ? nothing is different , no accidents, same address, same me, i have the same 2 feet 😂i escalated it to complaints they told me the same!! But if you don't know why you can't change anything, would i like a refund? I said of course i paid in full! I said to DH i should have said no you keep it for a bonus 😂
I have managed to get more but i really thought it would be really hard as i have had to declare i've had it cancelled. Like he says might have the same in June as i started this one 25/4

Morning all, a lovely bright day today with brilliant blue sky and wispy white clouds so another machine load of washing on the go! It's nearly finished so I'll get it out on the line shortly.
There's bad @bubbs, they should have just declined to quote if you didn't meet their criteria then you wouldn't have needed to declare it. Who was that with?
We're going to Faversham later this morning so we'll be eating out. I'll hopefully be able to get a salad of some sort, if not a jacket with beans although quite honestly I'd rather have the salad particularly if it stays warm. We're going to DD1s on the way back as our DGD is going to be there. DH had made a sourdough loaf for her which she absolutely loves. Means he'll need to make himself another one probably tomorrow depending on whether the starter continues growing!
So todays plan:
B - toasted cheese sandwich, pickled onions - HEA2; HEB; S
L - hopefully salad - P; S; F or jacket, beans & side salad - S; F
D - HM faggots (from freezer), mash, veg - P; S; F; 1
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned although if I have a salad there may be a few in a dressing
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all,
Agree that it's bad to have insurance cancelled, especially when they can't detail why. Some good scores at the Company $hop @bubbs and also A$da xx
I too have washing on the go @joedenise as it's a NWD today. I went to bed with a headache and woke up with it too, so I'm on a go slow today. I have some plants to attempt to get into the garden - one from the GC last week and another 4 from a WI plant sale on Tuesday night. Ground is rock solid so will be a dose of body magic for me.
I'm at the theatre in London this evening, catching a train at 4.30pm so dinner will be something on the hoof. Breakfast was a toasted protein thin bagel and poached egg, and lunch will be a use up of the sprout slaw which will be binned it I don't eat it today. Will add other picky saladings and some ham.
Yes agree @maman that MSE does come into my food planning, as I can't bear food waste and occasionally will pick up Olio items too - it all helps the budget despite sometimes not being SW friendly. Would never grab cakes or bakery items though unless WM rolls or on-plan bread.
Have a good day all

Hi everyone, still sunshine but a lot cooler today.
Enjoy your outings @joedenise and @Coxy11
I didn’t enjoy the seafood sauce @maman after making my own I found this one very ‘gloopy’ and binned the rest. Not very MSE but I refuse to eat anything I don’t enjoy. Couldn’t get Brussels sprouts but will have more shops to try tomorrow on shopping day 😁
I’ve only had a banana and coffee so far as I didn’t feel hungry when I got up but will have tuna salad in a soft pitta shortly, using 1.5 syns for salad cream. Dinner is chilli salmon, Jersey Royals, and loads of roasted veg. I may also snaffle one of DS’s ice-cream lollies tonight 😎0 -
Things didn't pan out as expected today! We went to Faversham as planned and had lunch but couldn't find anywhere that did a salad for me and F&C for DH so we ended up in Spoons! Not likely to do that again as there's nothing SW friendly anymore - the best I could do was a halloumi and roasted veg salad but have to say the roasted veg were very greasy and the halloumi was deep fried for far too long!
I did however manage to get a zip for my dress @Coxy11 in the haberdashery shop - couldn't see any so asked and for some reason they keep them under the counter! Cost a bit more than the last time I bought a long zip but at least I found somewhere that sells them.
Drove back to DD1s and her partner decided to do another BBQ! I didn't really want anything so to be polite I had a bit of salad and a chicken, pepper and mushroom skewer. If we'd known he was going to do a BBQ we wouldn't have bothered eating in Faversham and it would at least have been more SW friendly. I didn't have any wine so at least saved some syns there!
Will just have to see what damage I've done this week when I weigh in the morning.0 -
A zip isn't really the sort of thing they normally keep 'under the counter' @joedenise! 🤣 So many dresses don't have zips any more, maybe they don't get much call for them. 🤔
Shame that Wetherspoons didn't have anything more suitable. I had the old faithful JP last Sunday but the waitress did mention that they'd just switched menus.
I did wonder if you'd enjoy the jar of sauce @Jellybaby. It's like spaghetti sauce, I like my own HM. I tried Lidl, which is quite low syn, but not as good as my own. I plan to make some more tomorrow as it's so easy to make a batch for the freezer.
Glad you did manage to get insurance @bubbs as cancellation can be treated very different to just deciding not to quote you. Why ever didn't they tell you a month ago and then giving no reason. It's infuriating. ☹️
Hope you have a good evening at the theatre @Coxy11.
My car has to go into the garage tomorrow as DH's key doesn't work and the airbag warning light keeps coming on. I did my weekly shop today instead so it feels like it should be Friday night.
Today's plan -
B- HEB toast, HEA milk for drinks, scrambled eggs and ham (P), tomatoes (S)
L- JP (F), chilli (P, S), salad (S)
D- cod (P), SW chips, mushy peas (F), other veg (S)

Evening all .
Denise it was with co-op, at the end of the call she goes anything i can help with? I said no thanks and i will never use you again for anything 😂
Maman i was expecting a real hike in price but it wasn't as like you say you have to declare it, but it has not actually started yet so fingers crossed 🫰🫰
Seems like Friday to me as well as done my orders today, and delivering tomorrow which i usually do on a Monday, i will have no idea of days this next week!
Food today
Lunch1/4 hexb 2 crispbreads, gmmon ham, pickles and watermelon.
Tea we had a "fry up" bacon , sausage gate sausages 😂1 syn, mushrooms, tinned toms, beans, crispy cubed potato and 2 eggs,
Was really cold here this morning just 10 degrees! we had the heating on for a while.Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
@maman - Spoons are still doing jacket potatoes but really didn't fancy one but I think it's the only SW friendly thing on there now.
All the new things they've added to the Manu are burgers! They've taken off the mixed grill (which is what DH often had) and the half chicken (Nando's copy) which I used to have.
In future I think we'll only go in there if we want just a drink of some sort.0
