I walked around the charity shops in Southend before my hair appointment on Friday and didn't find one thing. I was looking for Spring tops and dresses. Very disappointing.4

So, if I am pondering a trip to experience the delights of the N.Yorks car boots & Miró's stamping grounds of Ripon, Otley etc, where's a good place to stay?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

After 10 weeks of cold turkey, I ventured into Barnardo's yesterday to a) test my resistance and b) look at the new books. Passed a) with flying colours and b) by default, the place was crammed with people and I couldn't even browse in peace, so gave up trying. I also nipped into M&S and the clothes there were boring, over-priced and didn't seem well made either,
I heard this in the early hours, clothing reuse is now far more normalised than it once was: Giving used clothes a new life. It actually made me get out of bed and open up the double wardrobe full of beautiful work dresses that I no longer wear. I know that I'm not going to wear them now but emptying the wardrobe would be an admission that I am no longer the young beautiful thing I once was...No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.8 -
Or it could be an admission of your new style @Rosa_Damascena Rather than all those beautiful work dresses what might you love in there instead?
Luck for me on Saturday - I popped into local store to make a donation in return for a table and chairs that someone was giving away and had a quick look round. The shop was just to busy to look at clothes but in the blanket/dog towel basket I saw a lovely soft possibly cashmere item - so I pulled it out to find a gorgeous wrap for just £2. Very happy with that!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!8 -

It is indeed for me. I'm not really sure what it was doing in that basket - just shows the bargains are stashed in the most unlikely places!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

For anyone interested….Bedale car boot starts this coming Sat morning (15th), Woodfield ,(Thirsk) starts Sat 5th April, Northallerton is already up and running on Sat mornings and Otley runs all year round Wed & Sun……..all weather dependant!
Sailed thro Ripon today and after a pit stop in Booths cafe couldn’t resist a nosy around the Salvation Army chazza next door. Came away with a nice pair of suede, almost ballerina stylee, shoes. Make is Legero, look new and paid £5.95…..RRP = £85!
