A mid week tripette to Otley proved to be a mixed bag bargain wise! Picked up a very nice cream Ted Baker top in the 99p shop suspecting it may be on the small side for me, (T.B.'s sizing always confuses me) and it was
I was going to re-donate it but as I was listing a few things on Vinted decided to add the top. Sold within minutes for £8. In the BHF shop I was tempted by a pair of b/n TU straight legged dark denim jeans for £3, (wasn't expecting much from this brand but I can never have have enough pairs of this style/colour. Oh boy was I surprised! Lovely thick but soft denim, no twisted leg seams (pet hate), waistband sits into the waist rather than gaping at the back, (another pet hate), perfect length and fit and extremely comfy! Well impressed. Having to revise my sniffy attitude to supermarket branded clothing these days as some of it seems to be really stylish and good quality. Anyhoo, here's the top......

Love that top I'd have picked it up too if I'd been anywhere near it! Not sure what size it was but if it was too big for me (I'm on the small size) then it looks to be quite easy to make a bit smaller.6

Another one here who likes Tu jeans. I bought a pair of the wide leg ones when they had the 10% offer, so were £18 (from £20). They fit really well and really thick but soft too. Wide leg is apparently the type for a pear shaped body, but then I heard straight legs are coming back in, so maybe I'll try Tu again.
Love that top too. Never seem to get 99p bargains here."Think of many things, do one"

Popped into BHF shop this afternoon. Everything felt really expensive, £11 for all the dresses and similar pricing for everything else. I tried the CR shop, but no changing room and I've really got enough stuff anyway. One last look in Scope's sale and they have a changing room, but the £2 new M&S trousers were just not something I'd wear and didn't fit properly anyway. But, I have been thinking about getting a fruit bowl, and they had a cut glass bowl with a rim with silver plate on brass (Yeoman) for £2.75 (I topped it up to £3). Had a really good scrub (baking powder, toothpaste, silver cloth) at the almost blackened silver and its come up beautifully. A few tiny marks left, which may come off another time, and my fruit looks lovely in it. Someone is trying to sell one on fleabay for £38, bit much I know, but its nice to see."Think of many things, do one"

This morning I went to our local hospice shop, which is an out-of-town warehouse-style shop with my MIL. Delighted to pick up a small wicker set of drawers which are just what I need for our downstairs toilet - £5. I also found a vase for £3 which feels quite Habitat in style (though no provenance on it that I can see). That was £3. Behold my bathroom refresh for the grand total of £8!
I also snaffled a Zara cream cardigan in Oxfam from their sale rail - £2.95, and a glass tray for tea lights.7 -
Reporting in from near the south coast!!! Success in the variety of shops that are in Ferndown (rather up market).
Had met with a friend for tea and cake (as you do) and then a wander round the shops. She'd been rather disappointed with a trip to Ringwood with her niece to do the chazzers and so I said I'd hope for better success where we were today.
First shop was a great success. I found her a scarf that matched her trousers (an ochre colour which was a bit unusual but being slim looked great on her of course). The scarf was a poly cotton long rectangle with an abstract pattern of ochre and orange and gray on a black background - exactly what she had been hoping to find. Just call me the scarf whisperer!!!
And we almost had a tug of war when I spotted a pie dish - nice deep green colour (sorry no photo...) which neither of us actually needed. I picked it up (hah! beat you!!!) thinking "that's rather nice for £4.50" and wondered out loud "do you think it's le creuset?" And yes it was!!! I was of two minds thinking I should relinquish it to her but thought again that she's hoping to move soon and why overburden her!!! So I'm not the proud owner of this lovely pie dish. Price tag is off, it's been washed and, with trepidation, introduced to the pie dish cupboard where I knew there was another le creuset. As luck and the gods of chazzy shopping should decree the new green dish is a size up from the old orange one so I'm one very happy person.***
Other shops were visited but while much was considered nothing was deemed worthy. That said we did have a good giggle at some of the things we saw.
***for those that overlap here and the declutter board this addition has pointed out to me that the portmerion wedding cooking dishes we have are really never going to be used much so maybe now it the time to shuffle them off somewhere. Then again maybe I should keep them until my friend moves and I can give them to her as a house warming gift..............I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Bought a book this week ……..about handbags😍. “Handbags, the power of the purse. £2.25 Oxfam, Thirsk. Also got another Woollovers cashmere and botany wool jumper in black from the Hospice shop.
Yesterday went to the first car boot sale of the year in Northallerton but found nothing of interest. Did pick up a nice Crew & Co shirt in a heavy blue cotton from the CRUK shop for £5.95.
