- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Couldn’t get to sleep, so decided to get up have a small cup of tea & then try again 🤞Thought I might as well do a bit more cheerleading
You have been busy mehefin 👏 How generous of your council to allow a few extra bin bags 🤨 Although I do think that most people would much prefer a 2 weekly collection 😉 I keep forgetting how lucky we are to still have a weekly collection of both rubbish & recycling 🍀 Great work tackling loft contents 👏 & how lovely to find a couple of ‘treasures’ 😊 Eek to the shattered plate 😥 Please remember to always wear something on your feet now as however well & often you sweep up/vacuum somehow a shard can & will hide for weeks before suddenly finding its way out of hiding 😣
Great decluttering Tjh1412 👏 & pleased to see that you rewarded yourself by watching the MSE programme 😊 Good luck with your mission to use up toiletries & otc medicines 🍀 Happy to hear that your DD is on the mend & helping with the decluttering 😉 Excellent finds - free table & chairs & a very MSE set of saucepans 🤩 Good luck sorting the box of ‘doodads & gizmos’ 🍀 Your DP does have some interesting ideas of labelling 😉
Very happy now as I am cheerleading posts dated the 15th 💃
weenancy, sorry to hear that Di is still in the nursing home 😔 & presumably won’t be coming home on Wednesday 🤨 Also very sorry to hear about your dizziness 😔 Please take care of yourself 🙏 as we don’t want you falling ill. Great decluttering 👏 & I am relieved to see that you are taking it slowly & in sections with lots of sitting down 😮💨 An exchange of services - parking for handyman tasks - how wonderful 🤩
Steady decluttering TC77 👏 although I am putting in my request to take care & Not declutter any more blood 🙏
I have finished my cuppa & am feeling a bit sleepy, so will post & go to bed. 2nd time lucky 🤞

@bigdaftkid - well done, that’s a great start!
😊 Welcome to the new members on the thread and good luck with your decluttering/redistributing and repurposing.
I have got behind on reading the thread but managed to catch up now. I am so sorry that you still don’t have any answers @Florenceem. Thank goodness Mr F is in hospital, is being investigated and receiving the nursing care required for now. You are doing so well with keeping occupied and getting those early nights in. I am glad that you have the support of your SA friends and colleagues. Sending hugs xx@Liverpool_Anne - your poor friend, that is such a lot to cope with. I am sure that your support is invaluable to her.No physical jobs done here other than the daily stuff, however I have been eating frogs 🐸🐸 banking and 🐸🐸 for a volunteer role. They are more time consuming than the physical decluttering!15 -
Morning Peeps,
for some reason I was unable to sleep so got up before 0600hrs. Even the birds were still in bed. Good news in about 30 days it will still be light in the evening at 1900hrs. That to me is golden to be looking forward to.
I have been getting bits out and using up/shopping from home. I even did a frog spawn freshly produced yesterday that had only landed hours before. HMRC said I owed some pennies (OK £128) so off they went within 5 hours of opening the notification.
@Florenceem thinking of you at this stressful time
This train is making some headway and the bad weather did slow it down only just so some of us could catch up. Phew!
@Liverpool_Anne thinking of you and your friend
Take care all

Hi all, slow day again yesterday. I am feeling very tired atm, the b12 jab is due in a couple of weeks so I was in bed early and awake quite early 😁. Just 3 LDFPA, 2 loads that didn't completely dry on the maiden. Small bit of cleaning and a bit of ironing. I had a small win on OH's stuff in the hall. 1 box has gone back into the car 😁. I did say that as it had sat in the hall for 11 months unused last year maybe it wasn't all needed but if help was needed to sort it out I can find some files, or box files to tidy it up a bit rather than it just being dumped willy nilly in bags. I am reluctant to tackle it as I am sure it will cause a row. OH was out for tea last night so easy freezer meal for me and I found a Christmas pudding bbe 2022, half decluttered into my tummy, half left for today, it was lovely😁. Despite still eating our way through the Christmas treats I have lost a kilo so the weigh loss is on track at least😁.
@Vulpix yes I saw the moon, I have been watching it all week when we have had clear skies and I can still see it now, just starting to fade as the sun is rising. I love a good full moon 😁.
@Florenceem, big hugs
@weenancyinAmerica big hugs for you as well. So glad you are not in the path of the fires, I have been watching the news, it is devastating. Also take care of yourself and I hope you can get some help from somewhere to help make the house safe for when Di comes home. Can you shut the door to keep the cat out of the room to prevent further havoc?
As I am awake early I am going to head into town on the train for a birthday present. No news on the car yet but I prefer going into town on the train as parking is expensive and I can use my bus pass on the train here 😁.
Ok time for another cuppa before I head out,
Hugs to everyone who would like one

dND - lovely to see a Snowdrop.
Decluttered a full trolley and bag of stuff to the charity shop already this morning - all bits that hadn't been listed on V.
My trolley is packed again along with a bag so I am having a cup of tea before walking into town again.
I am certainly getting my steps in.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Dnd ~ beautiful picture. I love snow drops
Yours is much further ahead than mine! I have 1 insure and I was going it would have opened, but not yet! And the ones in the garden are yet to bud up.
Floreneem ~ biggest hugs to you both, keeping busy is a good thing, I'm rant pleased your friends are helping you out and taking you to the hospital.
Weenancy ~ such a frigthrning time with the dry weather and all these fires.
Fingers crossed you get some help with sorting out your roommates room, I can't believe the others are so unhelpful!
Hugs to everyone else.
I'm having a quiet day here, hopefully will get painting soon

I am another one who loves snowdrops, thank you for sharing the picture dND. My Dad kindly gave me a tray full when we moved here and many years on I now have a lovely big area of them and patches round the garden too. Mine are only just peeping out of the soil though, something to look forward to.
The skip just has tiny pockets to fill today to make sure I maximise the return on the cost. Lots more things identified to re-home on the way, lots of craft stuff, someone mentioned donating to scrap stores and I have found one but it is a good 30 miles away so it may have to be last resort. I will try the local FB free page first. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
