Hoping you can get some answers soon @Florenceem, and make sure you're looking after yourself.
@Siebrie I have a lot of herbal teas to get through this year that were mostly given to me by my mum. I did manage to get through all the loose leaf tea at the end of last year, it's now just hundreds of tea bags!
Not a lot of decluttering here at the moment apart from decluttering a lot of money as we're actually getting our kitchen ripped out next week 😳 So there will be some decluttering over the weekend as we pack the kitchen up and the skip is arriving Friday so we can chuck some stuff in there that we meant to take to the dump.
Much love to everyone, hope you're all ok.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201720 -
I have been into town with a trolley and bag full for the charity shop.
One of the reasons that I enjoy living in this road - quick to town - there and back in 20 minutes & 4 minutes to a bus stop + 3 mins to Asd..
I met someone in town the other day - mentioned that Mr F may have to go into residential care and she said - they will take your home!
Having a cuppa then back to town with more stuff for the charity shop.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Florenceem Thinking of you and MrF. Your friend is misinformed - there is a good deal of information to be found on the internet about how such things are handled. Some people just love to be doom mongers don't they? Such folk should practice sticking to "I hope he's better soon" like normal people......
@weenancyinAmerica you sound as though you have a lot on your "to do" list. Make time for yourself in your day as well as picking up and cleaning up after everyone else - you're important too. Our cat has discovered youtube and is currently demanding to sit on my lap and watch the squirrel video again. We have to sit through it at least 5 times a day. I have it on a split screen so I can carry on reading/typing while she watches.
So....it's a busy week as it's the uni students last week off before the next semester starts. On Monday I decluttered 3 things (the student's old laptop, a charging lead and some catfood that our cat says she's not touching) to my cousin when I called in to help her fill some forms in. Yesterday I decluttered another 7 thing from the living room (there are many, many more to go) to make it a nice round number 10 for the two days as it makes the total easier to count. We also went to the cinema to see Nosferatu and I treated the student to takeaway pizza as we didn't have any Christmas outings together.
Today is lunch and gardening day at my friend's house so hopefully I can round up 5 things to go this evening. The rubbish bin should be emptied today after almost 4 weeks so I've identified at least one throwable item but it's currently sitting on my bedroom floor uncounted.
I also completed a frog yesterday eveing. The student and I are both cleared to travel to the USA. ESTAs applied for and positive reply received.
Thanks for the cheerleading Mrs_S_D 😊23 -
@Florenceem - people who don't know should keep their opinions to themselves rather than scaremongering. Do read Ageuk's Factsheet 38 if you have not done so already. As a spouse living in the property it is not taken into account. This may change if you decided to move at a later date. Financial assessments will be based on his income and savings.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Cranky- your cat sounds fabulous, I can see you having get another laptop for her sole use as eventually she won't want just half a screen
Florenceem agreeing with the others re the house. I wish people would think before saying such gloomy things and maybe ask it as a question rather than dramatically going for worst doom situation, like, oh how's that going to affect the house? Or at least telling you the full reason why they think that. Likely its half a story passed on several times so loses a lot of the nuances. 'Send three and four pence, we're going to a dance' springs to mind
I'm off to do some tidying

Mrs_SD said "We used a pasta called ‘Gigli’ ".
I was intrigued and had to look this up. Apparently pronounced "Jilly" but drawn out "Gee-Lee".
Glad I checked as at first glance I assumed it was "giggly"

@Florenceem ignore the opinions of people who read salacious news reports like this ‘friend’. She doesn’t know your situation. As others have said Age Uk, CAB etc are far better able to provide advice.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hi all, very slow decluttering day yesterday. I met my friend for coffee that lasted until 2 pm. She lost her DH just before Christmas, she is holding up quite well but is at her sil's funeral today and while we were out got a message to say her dsis had died. I think she will be taking a while to get anywhere near back to normal and I will probably be seeing her once a week going forward as a bit of a distraction. Luckily she has 2 grandchildren near by and another on the way to give her something positive to plan for.
The only thing I managed to get done was booking an appointment with the chiropodist, Feb 4th, I should have tried before Christmas as it seems to take about 3 - 4 weeks to get to see them. I also picked up some white yarn for the next baby blanket as I didn't have enough in my stash annoyingly. After tea I watched the footy on tv and did some crochet on the green blanket.
Today I was up early to get the car to the garage and have now got washing swishing as we have blue skies and sunshine, still a bit cold but I'll throw it on the line and hope it dries a bit 😁.
Interrupted by a phone call from the garage, as I suspected it is the suspension so I have said go ahead and sort it out but I might not have the car back until tomorrow but I can cope with that 😁.
I am not sure what else I will do today but I think some cleaning might be on the agenda and if I feel like it I might drag the iron out 😁.
@Florenceem big hugs
Right off for another cuppa
Hugs to everyone who would like one
81 chiropodist appointment booked
Take care everyone

Oh Liverpool_Anne your friend is having an awful time just now, 3 people in such a short time frame, sending virtual hugs for her
