Well. I am as happy as can be. DH, my absolutely wonderful DH, has done it. He had both the raised beds dismantled and recycled before I got up this morning. Isn’t he fantastic. I wanted the yard clear by Christmas and, baring a little spilt compost, it is. Hopefully the rain will deal with the little bit of compost.
Got my last shop today, used my Nectar points so was a cheaper one thank goodness. Not enough room in the fridge for all the fresh bed so put into bags and currently being stored in DHs scooter shed. It’s a huge metal one, bit like a shipping container. It’s 100% dry, no vermin and very cold so veg should be fine.Did all my washing today. Whites are on the airer but colours will have to wait until tomorrow now.Just got to deliver presents to one neighbour and one friend and everything is done and finished.Hope everyone is doing okay.
@London_1 have a safe drive tomorrow.Night night all, sleep tight xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

26 for 202612 -
Hi everyone
Sorry to have been AWOL for a few months. I seem to have blinked and the year has almost ended!
I've had some nice times away with family in November - to Switzerland, south Wales and Bristol; and this month we celebrated my DGD's 1st birthday.
I've been regularly decluttering my soft plastics in the local c00p and today remembered to take my batteries to Sainz, I've also decluttered a lot of plastic coat hangers there too. I had to throw away my lovely rug as it had too many cat-cidents, so that went to the tip and I took a few other bits of rubbish too. I've decluttered the old dishwasher out of my garden at last - I had a new one delivered today
My best bit of decluttering will happen next February when I reduce my hours at my FT job !!! I'm going down to 3 days; I'll still have a PT job role of 6 hours and some self employment (which is varying hours) but I cannot wait to have more time to myself. I'll also have more time to spend on decluttering
I hope everyone is keeping well and hugs to anyone who needs one.
Thank you Mrs S_D for all you do to keep us going on this thread.
Love to all
Deni

Happy belated winter solstice.
Because of the family get together,it feels like Christmas has already happened. I am already looking forwards to what I hope to achieve next year.
Today 10 blown double glazed units in the bay window are being decluttered along with a chunk of money. It will make a difference in the sitting room and even more so once the jungle is cut back.
I have accepted a quote to clear the front garden.Another even bigger chunk of money. It is a huge job though, way beyond my capabilities these days. I know it will reveal a retaining wall which will need replacing but that is low down my list of priorities. I currently do not know what I will do with the space once it is clear. I have made a lot of gardens in my time, I am sure inspiration will come. It may just be an interim garden as I need to renovate the inside of the house first. The bathroom guy is booked for April, that will be a lot of money. Plus the base for the new sheds, and the new sheds should happen in March.
To go today, the small Christmas tree from the porch and a singing reindeer. Probably on Thrift. Oh, I gave a thrifted Teepee away the other day, I tried and failed to put it up for DGS1, it's too fiddly for me.
Gifts in have been flowers, food and fancy soap so nothing permanent. Token gifts from us taken away and I also made the visitors take away lots of left over food. Some of my food gifts I will give to my Mum. People forget I have lost my sweet tooth.
Oh, interesting news. My Mum is going out of the house on Christmas day! first time in almost 3 years. She is going to my Nephews new farm for the day. We drove past the other day, The farm house has been transformed from almost derelict to quite a stately building. Well done to Nephew and wife for working their socks off and achieving their dream in their early thirties.

Oops, I forgot to post this yesterday 😬
Sunday: rained early a.m. A dull overcast day with a high of 10°C (feeling 3° colder) & a low of 8°C. Raining again at 15:00 & continued on & off right through until midnight 🙁 I now have an opening post for the 2026 Decluttering Thread which will be posted soon 🙂 Cleared down a few more programmes from the planner. Then continued working on the Awards post. Dinner was roast beef, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings & hm gravy. DSis & I watched John Wick 4 - very unrealistic action sequences 😞 Wudupa
2346 - 2348 Kitchen recycling, plastic jar, drinks cans - recycled

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, I ended up laughing at the end “stairs sequence” in John Wick 4.. it was totally over the top! That said, a little fantasy nonsense is a good distraction from reality right now!
Only Xmas gifts decluttered from the house over the weekend.. & time spent celebrating the Solstice by making intentions for the rest of the year and snuggling down and resting properly😴

Monday is a brighter day with an expected high of 11°C & low of 8°C& a very slight chilly breeze. Although it rained earlier the pavements & roads are now almost dry 🙂 I managed to get up by 11:15 today 😉 Have my first cuppa & will concentrate on catching up with the cheerleading - fortunately only a day behind 😮💨
weenancy, that soup sounds very tasty 😋
TC77, sorry to hear about the previously dealt with frog rearing it’s ugly head again & turning into a cane toad 😞 Hopefully you can get it back to frog size by the end of the year & then deliver the coup de grâce in January 🤞🙏 Good luck 🍀 So pleased to read This “Cleaned dining room/.kitchen floor and so much easier with big coffee table gone so reminding myself how fewer things means easier cleaning etc.” 😊👏
London_1, sounds like you, DD & son-in-law are well organised for Christmas 😊 & ready to welcome the ‘hollow legged’ boys 🥹 Wishing you & DD safe & happy travelling today 🙏 especially as you have such a packed itinerary & a very long although very joyous day ahead of you 🥹
purplevamp, every item out is a success 👏 Now is the time of year to relax & enjoy the festivities 🥳 Please have a lovely Christmas with DH 🥹 & good luck getting DH on board with the Pantry Challenge 🍀 As for This “I can't wait to start in full force next year. I feel like my house is going to burst! Is there a new thread started yet to join?” the new thread is prepped & will be put up at the weekend 😊
Floss, you know me so well 🥹
suzeesu2000, yippee 🥳 I know your DH kept you waiting but well done to him 👏 & you being so happy validates my decision to award your DH a medal 🏅 Another one of our Declutterati family who is well organised 😊
deni_debt-free_dreamer, no need to apologise for being AWOL, RL has a habit of keeping one busy 😞 However so happy to hear that you have had some great times with your family 🥹 especially attending your DGD’s 1st birthday party 🥳 Excellent work with the regular decluttering 👏 & in recognition I am awarding you a medal 🏅 Congratulations on negotiating your Full Time job to Part Time 🥳 your happiness shines through in your post 🥹 Please remember to use a good chunk of your free time on pursuits that make you happy 😊 not just decluttering giggle 🙊
TC77, well done on starting to gather together tax info 👏 Hopefully being so well organised means that completing your Tax Return will be a doddle 🤞🙏
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 I had to laugh at This “Just off to DDs. Car loaded and Sox decluttered from car boot!” 🤣 Sox obviously thought he should be coming with you 🙊
vulpix, sounds like you have had a lovely ‘early’ Christmas with your family 🥹 Just wondering if this means that you & MrV are having a quiet Christmas Day 🧐 you know by now how ‘curious’ I am 😉 Hope the decluttering of blown double glazed units doesn’t result in too much mess 🤞 I see that you already have plans in place for the first quarter of 2026 🤩 I am in awe & I will be trying to make 2026 the year I emulate you 🤞 Thank you for sharing This “Oh, interesting news. My Mum is going out of the house on Christmas day! first time in almost 3 years. She is going to my Nephews new farm for the day. We drove past the other day, The farm house has been transformed from almost derelict to quite a stately building. MadamMim2013, not sure which sequence was more over the top “the stairs” or the “Arc de Triomphe traffic” one! Although as you say “a little fantasy nonsense is a good distraction from reality right now!” 😁 Thanks for the timely reminder about listing out Good Intentions for 2026 👏😊 That should & hopefully will be my next task after finishing the Awards list 🤞
All caught up 😮💨 Here’s wishing everyone as good a day as possible & some kind weather 🙏 See you later 👋
