Forgot to mention a bag of toy stuffing given to DD2.
Tinned food and toiletries to the food bank.
A few things in, but given to me so I feel ok about it. A single duvet and a pillow. I did get rid of loads of bedding a couple of years ago but we have more beds at this house so they are needed. I was given them with some cushions but I think they will go to the chazzer. They are lovely but I can't seem to get on with cushions. I have also bought some fabric to make a roman blind in the spare room, not very high on my list of things to do atm!
Mr V's Birthday today, he has gone for a meal with man shed then we are off out food shopping later.
It is our Christmas tomorrow as family are coming and staying overnight. Today I have sweets, chocolates and biscuits to make to give as gifts.
The house is decorated mostly with Christmas decorations that we had. I wanted some battery fairy lights for the porch tree but left it too late as the shops have very little choice in lights left. I have got some battery micro lights from when it was Mr V's 60th and we had a bbq in the garden and the lights were in kilner jars on the garden steps. I can use them as it is a tiny tree with tiny teddy bears on it. Batteries on the shopping list.
Hope you are all fending off any winter bugs. The Southern component of the family have all been very poorly with it. We have reverted to a lot of hand washing. So far so good.
Hugs for anyone in need Vx:19 -
Loving the Xmas tree photos.Vulpix looks lovely and homey.
@daisy_1571 you made me laugh out loud- I probably have nearly 50 little plastic bags but hadn't thought of counting individually!
Some dental stuff out 1887
Realise I have 6 nail scissors and 4 tweezers, may have more in first aid kit and sewing box. All slightly different and maybe useful in different scenarios, toes, fingers, splinters, eyebrows, sewing etc.
Had planned on some quite urgent frogs tonight but work drinks which meant plans fell apart.
Work tomorrow and a wisdom tooth out late pm, hadn't thought about how close to Xmas.

- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday has been a miserable cold wet day. It has rained on & off all day with some heavy showers - thank goodness I had the guttering cleared 😊 High of 12°C (feeling 4° colder) low of 11°C. Sum total of activity today has been to descale the kettle, write a shopping list & do some knitting. DH & DSis went shopping - quite busy but not yet frantic 😉 Most of the groceries have been put away & we have the meat for Christmas Day - turkey, venison steaks & duck breasts. Dinner was gammon shanks, oven chips & baked beans + a fried egg for DH & me. Wudupa
2334 - 2335 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
2336 Kitchen detritus - binned

Morning all. I posted earlier but it disappeared. Hectic day but I have half an hour gap for tea and bacon sandwiches. @vulpix - love the tree. I have bay window envy - in 6 homes I have never had a bay window. I have been to hairdressers, checked out a horsey shop but they didn't have what DD is looking for, recycling dropped off along with bags of plastic and textiles.
1216 Load of cardboard dropped off at recycling
1217 Bag of batteries to recycling
1218 Bag of textiles to recycling
1219 Plastics to SM
1220 Last Christmas cards to hairdresser and neighbour

I have dealt with a utilities frog, that was on the verge of turning into a cane toad, for the third and hopefully final time.
I also decided to donate a bunch of Christmas decorations that we don't use, and those went to someone in the community.

Haven’t been about much, been working and fitting several social events and trips away around everything. Things are now slowing down and had a quick cat nap this afternoon as I was so tired. Had several pages of posts to catch up on and spent yesterday and today catching up. Quite abit of decluttering done.No more neutral items out, need to pop up a final total but i have been parcelling some items up ready to send out after Christmas, they will go in my 2026 start. Generally,
671)-672) items x 2 sold on V
673) Finally found a collection point that takes bags of used coffee machine pods. They have driven around with me for about a month, me asking at various stores and just by chance yesterday I found a recycling point so they were disposed of
674) lots of soft plastics recycled at local supermarket recycling point
675)-679) items x 5 into the rag bag and picked up
680) put the new kitchen to good use yesterday, cooking up items that I had freezer stored for ages for an event. I now have space!
681) small plastic tub not returned from the event so will pop the lid in recycling. It was only a small takeaway tub that had been kept just in case.
682)-684) items x 3 from fridge disposed of and packaging recycled including an extremely old jam.685) lots of tablet packaging put into the recycling point at Bo ots. Didn’t do the recycle at Bo ots as I find it a faff, just popped the strips into the recycling point.Neutral items final total for the year.Bag of care packs handed over with Dun elm Bags of Joy 1267+1 =1268
The final 2 Dun elm Bags of Joy (which made 52 bags handed over) completes the neutral item total of,

Very pleased @Mrs_Salad_Dodger that you are hosting for 2026 thank you, apart from what’s lurking in the loft, I don’t have a ton to declutter but I love being part of this amazing group of people.1 item sold on Vinted. That’s it. Oh and a ton of flipping plastic packaging.
Have to share this with you. My chiropodist came today and he was so happy! His wife has just won a HUGE prize in a competition consists of £25,000 cash, a new car, a quad bike, an electric bike, a load of Ninja things, new iPhone 17, a load of Lego, £500 in Argos vouchers, £500 in supermarket vouchers and a ton of smaller bits and pieces. Isn’t that just wonderful for them? They have been desperately saving for a deposit to buy a house and now they have it. I think it’s wonderful and what a lovely way to start their new year.
Have a great evening all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
