Helloooooo!
Suzesuu that sounds like a wonderful prize! Quad bike……can just see me zipping along in that!
Mrs SD thank you for being mum to us all year and I am sure your mojo will spring into action next year 😘
Vulpix I love your tree!
Today we caught up with friends we haven’t seen for a very long time and spent most of the time catching up and laughing 😄
Rogan is in a wierd mood like an over excited toddler but the deccies have been put up and he has his own advent calendar. I am really missing all my dogs now….Nutmeg used to bumble around knocking ornaments off the tree with her tail, Saffron would check under the tree several times a day to see if Santa had been and Pepper was just enthusiastic about everything! Oh and they all pinched the wrapping paper and drowned it in puddles out the back 🤣
Tomorrows jobs are wrap the presents and attempt some ironing and Sunday I’ll be outside as it’s Winter Solstice 🥰⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

Suzeesu, what a wonderful prize. How lovely to hear some good news for a change. And it doesn’t matter how much you have to declutter, keeping on top of it day to day is what stops it building up again.
Thank you Mrs SD for continuing us along for 2026.
Hope you’re not too sore after the tooth extraction, TC77.
Uu a tub of hot chocolate powder which was bb November 2023 and have filled the gap in the cupboard with a new one which was out on the worktop. I had some a couple of weeks ago as well and it tasted just the same as it did the day the tub was opened.
All packed up and ready to go away. Haven’t been feeling festive as been dealing with hospital appointments and other official stuff so there’s not been time to decorate at home. Taking a small tree with us so looking forward to decorating it on Monday.9 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday: more rain overnight. I was up before 11:00 to a bright, crisp & sunny day with a forecast high of 11°C & a low of 6°C + the wind had calmed down 😮💨 I emptied the shredder bin & relocated excess envelopes from a filing cabinet drawer to a new home but have spent the bulk of my time working on the post for the the 2026 Decluttering Thread - it is coming along nicely 😊Watched the final of Countdown - brilliant contest & a worthy winner.
DSis went out for a wander a couple of hours ago & DH went out (16:30) to drop off his sample pot tmi 😉 DSis got back about 17:30 & was fed up as she had gone to M&S to buy a bra & a pair of trousers but came away empty handed 😞
Dinner was sea bass, boiled new potatoes & peas for DH & me, whilst DSis had quiche with boiled new potatoes. Wudupa.
2337 - 2341 Kitchen recycling, plastic bottle, drinks cans, 2 newspapers - recycled
2342 Kitchen detritus - binned
Excellent decluttering MadamMim2013 👏 Fingers crossed that the rain stops & there is no flooding 🤞
Soontobeoap, hope you have a wonderful Christmas & I look forward to seeing you in February 😊
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Hope your two hour round trip went well & was successful🤞
Nice to see you Foofoopuppy 👋 Well done on sorting out the utilities frog before it became a cane toad 👏
TC77, you are very welcome 😊 I love how kind & generous our Declutterati family are - sharing not only their decluttering journeys but also sharing their lives & family with us ☺️ Great work on the decluttering 👏 & good luck with the frogs 🍀
Happy_Kitties, sounds like you have been very busy 🤩 Excellent decluttering of both general & neutral items 👏 The 2 figures - 685 & 1270 each merit a gold Star ⭐️⭐️ to add to your growing collection 😊
suzeesu2000, you might think it odd but I really do enjoy ‘hosting’ the Decluttering Thread each year 🥹 especially as we have such a wonderful ‘family’ 🥹 Thank you for sharing such a wonderful story 👏 Such a pleasure to hear about someone you know being so lucky ☺️
Muddy_Walker, hopefully you are right & my ‘mojo’ returns 🤞I just need to help it along by actually planning properly with SMART objectives for 2026 😊 What a lovely way to spend the day - with friends chatting & laughing 😊 & probably not noticing how much time had passed 😊 Loved the descriptions of how your dogs past & present act at Christmas 🥹 Also wondering why they all had the same idea of what to do with the wrapping paper 🙊
oceanspirit, good work using up the hot chocolate powder 👏 Hope you have a lovely time being away from home for Christmas ☺️
Sleep tight everyone 😴
P.S. see pic of last scarf

Yesterday I made and decluttered 8 pots of home made soup to friends for their freezer to be used for comfort food over the next couple of weeks. I was gifted a beautiful memory bauble for my tree (which is up now but only has the lights on). Tears were shed. I will be decluttering A LOT of baked gifts over the next few days, my eldest GD is coming to stay and we bake and craft and gift,,,these are precious days and fast becoming our tradition.7

Morning all. Decluttered children - I will see them when I get back Boxing Day. Bedroom 2 sorted and tidied and bedding stripped and washed. It still needs some furniture (wardrobe) in there but will be ok for visitors. It is an Ottoman bed and Sox knows there is a space underneath but can't work out how to get in. Last night he was doing zoomies between rooms for no reason at all. I slept late this morning and he eventually landed on the bed from a flying leap to make sure I was getting up.
A couple of things to wrap and I am going out with DIL at some point. I guess I could get my case down. Christmas stuff for DD's house is all together. DS1 confirmed he will be here next Saturday and Sunday. DGS1 messaged to remind me to bring swimming stuff as we usually go to the pool nearby when I'm there. My trip out was good - only one more class (pre-diabetic) in January.
1222 Bedroom 2 cleaned, stuff put away, bedding stripped
1223 Children took chocolates, advent calendars and Chocolate log back to their Mums
1224 Window cleaner paid on line as he had been whilst I was out
1225 Counted loose change left in my 1p challenge box (about £18) after envelopes filled for gifts. Used to kick start 2026 1p challenge ticking off 23 high and low value amounts. None of the bags of coins had enough in to trade in at bank although 20p are nearly there.
Right things to do and places to be. Will need to dry double bed cover as I only have one set. Sox will be happy it's stopped raining so he has gone out.2025 Decluttering Campaign 1225/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅🏅) 🌟🌟🌟💐

Thanks you for keeping this thread going Mrs SD.

I am dropping off my library books and another donation bag today. I want to do a deep clean (or pay for one) after the tree and decs are all put away. I did get a recommendation for a local cleaning company so I will contact them in the new year.2025 GOALS

Another grateful you are keeping this thread going.
I have dropped all presents that I can now. The last ones will be just the few we have.
My crafting shed has been insulated and boarded and so the job of getting the crafting stuff into there will begin. At that point, I will be sorting through everything and organising it properly. That will be my huge 2026 challenge as there is a lot in a lot of places.September 2017 Debt = £25330

You can do anything if you put your mind to it. x6 -
Wow @suzeesu2000 what an amazing win for them, great that it’ll help them with their dreams of buying a home ☺️Thankyooooooo @Mrs_Salad_Dodger 💐 you’re kindness and dedication to keeping us enthused and motivated never goes unnoticed and is always appreciated.. Wishing you, MrSD and Salad Sister a wonderful festive season full of everything your hearts desire 🎄💗
A slow ish day as my mischievous left eye is playing up again (I have peripheral neuropathy in my face thanks to pernicious anemia) .. it’s hard to concentrate on anything much with a continuous stabby pain and temple throbbing 😖 it was aggravated by a 4.40am wake up call from DS2 who’d lost his key and couldn’t get in 🤬 (it was too cold/wet to leave him out there so went downstairs to let him in.. along with one of the cats 😆)
That said, the hubster brought me up a nice cuppa once I woke again at 8am & had cleared the dishwasher and fed the mogwai’s..
We plan to re-design the storage in the garage (in the new year!) will get some measurements done after lunch and discuss some ideas.. We’ve got some bits to go to the scrapyard yet will probably do that at a later date as I need a splato day & hubster has footie to watch this afternoon..
Going to go find my warming eye mask, though not quite sure how I’m going to warm it now we don’t have a microwave!! Any ideas? 🤣"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇7 -
Thank you so much Mrs SD for all your amazing work on this thread.
It's really helped me this year and will continue to in 2026.

Hi all, a couple of reasonable days here 😁 . Sm trip turned into a bigger shop than initially planned as OH had asked for something that meant going to a 2nd shop. Most put away when I got home.
Binned another annoying pen, emptied the lr bin twice and the kitchen recycling. I had a text message from the Drs about ordering meds so they were checked and ordered.
Yesterday I took 110 blister packs to recycle. I have been saving them for ages with a view to trying the app thing again but decided to just recycle them. I didn't need anything from the shop and it's a bit of a faff requiring more head space than I have right now 😂. Plus I will have more fairly quickly if I decide I want to try the app in the future. Cheekily I am going to count this as 11 😂. The hall and toilet were hoovered but still need to mop. When the builders did the toilet they also put in a small cupboard under the bit of stairs not used for the toilet and I have been thinking about what to store in there. As it happens the Hoover fits in quite well and if I organise it properly I will be able to fit in a small amount of diy stuff so that's good 😁. I did 4 loads of washing as it was sunny and got 3 loads on the line and 1 load on the maiden. 1 LDFPA from the maiden and the stuff on the line was left out overnight as it should be another dry day here with a gentle breeze so fingers crossed some of it will dry 😁.
@daisy_1571 loved your post and couldn't agree more about how much support you get here. I would have given up months ago if I hadn't been visiting this thread. I can't thank people enough for what they do here to keep me going 😁
@Vulpix happy belated birthday to Mr V, hope he had a great day 😁. Love the tree and looks perfect in the bay window 😁. Hope your family Christmas was good 😁.
@Mrs SD thank you for my medal 😁. So glad to hear you will be leading us all again next year, thank you 💐. Fab scarf 😁
@suzeesu2000 what a fabulous prize and good to hear of someone winning it, you see these things from time to time but I sometimes wonder if anyone actually wins them, though I have to say I have no idea what I'd do with a quad bike 😂
@suprisinglynice what a lovely tradition, hope all goes to plan 😁
Got some of the 8p veg which I am going to use for a veg stew for the freezer, probably make that today and some veg will be frozen for future use as we are at OH's Dsis on Xmas day. OH wants leek and potato soup and I am having a problem getting leeks so I might pop to another sm today to try to get some and as I have found the wood filler I will try to get the dints in the floor boards in the toilet filled today.
Right time to get weaving
Hugs to everyone who would like one
