A much more productive day. Checked the freezer and it is definitely full so no more soup made today. OH did 2 loads of my laundry.Tidied and dusted more of the bedroom - not finished yet as living with chronic fatigue means I have to keep resting in between activities so everything takes forever. Several items binned or recycled, 4 items for CS, 4 items for scrap metal next time we do a tip run and a packet of old prescription pills will be taken to pharmacy tomorrow for disposal. Books sorted - 2 are nearly finished so put those beside bed for reading and the rest piled in proposed order of reading ie those only passing through to be read first. Other items of clothing etc have been put away. Drawers need going through at some point but will get the whole place tidy first as don’t want lots more stuff lying around.

Hi chums , sorry for your difficulties Florenceem life is so unfair at times ☹️
been a busy day today, I put my ‘secure key’ away so securely I can’t find it
its got to be in my bedroom somewhere as I never bring it downstairs ever as it opens up my online banking
so this morning I started religiously going through all the drawers
bearing in mind I have a large chest of drawers, a medium sized one plus three sets of bedside cabinets a total of 23 drawers all told 😳 so far I’ve managed to empty and check 12 of them and decluttered so much stuff
i spent the afternoon decluttering a large photograph album of photos and have sorted them all out. Some I will post off to a friend of mine as they are photos of our husbands who were best pals and now sadly both gone.they are well over 55 years old and I have copied them to my laptop but as she’s not got the internet I thought I’d send her the hard copies
it’s been amazing how many photos I used to take back then with my little wind ob Kodak brownie
camera. Bearing in mind I had done a running repair on it back in 1960 when I was in Switzerland and dropped it on a mountain side and cracked the case. I covered it in black masking tape and just carried on using it. It worked ok and I used it right up until the late 1970s when my husband treated me to a smart new Canon one. In fact I still have it in one of my unpacked as yet boxes and haven’t the heart to bin it
I had bought it in1958 as I’d always been interested in taking photos
weird now as my youngest grandson is doing a film and photography degree at Uni 🤣
But as usual I digress, I’ve literally spent the whole day decluttering and I’m halfway through the drawers and still not found it yet. I’ll carry on tomorrow and if I don’t find it then I’ll have to go into Newport on Tuesday to order a new one. Luckily it’s not my currant account just a rainy day one where I dump odd amounts of cash when I find a saving on something or have money left out of my monthly budget. I leave it and use it for trips out in the summer or if one of my grandsons need a short term get-them-through-the-month loan 🤣
my eldest DD is in the air at the moment returning from her and her OHs trip to New York where they have been since New Years Day
they don’t land until about 10.00 pm tonight so they won’t be back to Kent until gone midnight
Shes had a good time though and it was lovely for them to see my great granddaughter Daisy who is a lively 18 month old 🥰
right time I got a wriggle on as my DDs called to say dinner is ready
take care everyone and keep warm

wow what a lot of busy bees! Back to work Monday so didn't get much done. However one of the dogs just peed on their bed - the bed is old and chewed and we had considered replacing it before Christmas so a no brainer :-) counted putting all christmas cards into recycle as 1 of the 12 items decluttered yesterday (9 into the recycle, 2 into the bin) and today another 7 (4 bin 3 gifted) taking me up to 49 / 2025 so far this year. not counting as decluttering but also finished the christmas turkey (had been in the freezer don't worry) and the leek and potato soup. i am aiming to get through every item of food that was in the cupboards, fridge or freezer by the end of the year. I have taken an inventory hence throwing out the bb 2008 flour! i am enjoying looking online for recipes using some of the ingredients.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Wow, just popped in to say hi. Can't believe I have over 400 posts to catch up on already! Last weekend we had a child free weekend in London to see the sights and also watched Hamilton. Both were amazing.
Mrs SD I aiming for 2025 items to go this year and minimal coming in.19 -
Not much to report here from a decluttering perspective ….. I did take the clothes recycling that has been in the car all week to the clothes bank bin today and absolutely will take the donations tomorrow lunchtime!!
I’ve been preoccupied today with meal planning, shopping, cooking and cleaning in the kitchen today. Not sure if it counts but used a packet of chestnut puree in stuffing for a Sunday roast
that has been in the cupboard forever. At least I’m going in the work week with food planned out and a clean kitchen. Always makes me feel more in control. This week I want to do a full food inventory but pretty confident already that I only have food in the house that is fully edible. There may be one or two things (in date) we won’t use and if so I can drop those in the food bank bin.Two small sales on eBay that I will need to pack and send tomorrow. They have been on for ages so good to sell them.19 -
@Crazycatlady2 I'm sorry to hear about your cat. We lost Violet the week before Christmas in similar circumstances and whilst it is the right decision for them, it's so tough for us. Thinking of you xx

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time Florenceem
If Mr F is coiming out of hospital, then I would be enquiring about having 2 district nurses to care for him one for daytime & the other for night. It can be done with organisation of living and sleeping areas, even if the lounge has to be used as a care room with a single bed in it.
There's absolutely no reason why your husbands doctor/surgery in conjunction with the hospital can't provide the 24 hour care that your husband needs, they just need to be made fully aware that there's absolutely no way you can cope on your own with his present health issues. As for decluttering, I've gone through 2 more doors in my large wardrobe over the weekend and sorted out a mountain of gifted new handbags & daughters backpacks to eventually list for sale. I've got 2 black bin liners packed & loaded for the charity shop, which has left me with another 1/2 a door free and decluttered. There seems to be a flood of items being listed on Vin*ed over the past 2 weeks, and I can only assume that the MSE 2025 declutter gang are really going for it!Keep up the great efforts everyone as it wil be worth it when you look at all the lost space you now have along with a much simpler uncluttered lifestyle. I know I felt totally liberated at the end of last year when I did my final double late night inpost large fully loaded shopping trolly sales run & filled all the lockersIt was a welcomed end to a totally manic 6 weeks

Brambling, bad news/goods about your hip needing replacing 🤨 Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long 🙏 after all the sooner it is done the sooner you can start your recovery 🙂 An excellent decluttering & tidying session 👏 I do hope you remembered to take a before & after photo to remind yourself of your success

Hi all, slow day today as for some reason I felt very tired, currently in bed but posting now as I have the dentist in the morning so might not have time before I head out. The bedroom bin was emptied, 3 LDFPA, 2 loads on the line but they didn't dry so are now on the maiden. 200 emails deleted and a blood test booked for Friday. I had a message from the Drs to say it is due so I will collect the form tomorrow.
OH was working today, doesn't usually work on Sunday but as all lessons have been cancelled due to the snow and ice for the past week a few were fitted in today and I managed a phone call to my dniece in the Caribbean. She tells me it was 28° with blue skies and a gentle breeze 😁.
After tea I did some crochet 😁.
@Florenceem big hugs
Right I am falling asleep so hugs to anybody who would like one
