Hi,
crazy cat lady, I am sorry to hear about your cat.It is the ultimate thing we can do for them at the end.xxx
Both sets of drawers in the sitting room gone through. Lots of little things re homed here and for other people including a candle holder, cat toys for DD2's kitten, matches to DS, the only one of us who has a real fire now etc, etc. I will estimate 20 things.
One set of drawers contains the "office". This is a fairly flat plastic box with a lid which contains A4 folders, one for each utility, car, insurance etc. A few letters filed and any older than a year recycled.
I can say that 4 of the 6 rooms in my house have had every single item they contain assessed. Sitting room, spare bedroom, loft and bathroom.Still to finish, our bedroom and the kitchen. In our room,Mr V's clothes and a bedside drawer with photos and keepsakes yet to do. Most areas done the Kitchen, under stair cupboard, set of drawers, big corner cupboard, fridge and freezer have been emptied and washed and things put back again. More drawers and cupboards yet to do. It is getting more and more difficult to find things to go.
We have had an email from our local councillor. She wants to visit with someone from the flood team on Wednesday. The ice installation might have melted by then and the waterfall back in force.

@vulpix - roommate has lost 10 pounds this week while in the nursing home. But she has perked up with the oxygen she is being given.
@Crazycatlady2 - so sorry to hear about your cat. It is so hard but they do seem to let us know when it is time. It never gets easier though.
@Florenceem - that is why it would work - the complete element of surprise. No one would expect me to lie down on the floor and holler either (I wouldn't be able to get back up for one thing). But sometimes extreme measures are needed. Have they checked him for low oxygen - it has made a tremendous difference for Di. Last week she couldn't stay awake long enough for me to even finish a sentence. Today she watched two whole ball games and stayed awake.
The fires are still burning - 38,000 plus acres already. This is like half of Isle of Wight or two and a half Guernsey Islands. If we can get through the winds over the next three days, it will help a lot. But still no rain in the forecast.
Thank you for your hugs and prayers.24 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Dinner was delicious 😋 Roast pork with crackling, roast potatoes & parsnips, honey roasted carrots & boiled cabbage + hm gravy. No Yorkshire puddings as I had left them off the shopping list ☹️ DSis & I are watching Dancing on Ice & as is usual we only recognise about half the contestants 😉 We followed that with Call The Midwife & then Pottery Throwdown. We couldn’t decide who would get potter of the week as there were several really good items but we did agree on who was sent home 🙂 I have left it vague as I didn’t want to spoil it for anyone 😉 Wudupa.

weenancyinAmerica - no need for the floor - I said to a nurse that I wanted to speak with a Doctor and one came to see me. Mr F is the correct weight so a loss of 12 pounds for him would be drastic. Is your roommate okay with losing that amount of weight? Mr F's oxygen level is fine. I was on the phone to Doctor daughter telling her the monitor numbers while I was visiting yesterday.
Dizzycap - we have a downstairs cloakroom but it isn't big enough for someone to assist another with the toilet. It took 2 nurses yesterday - struggling to change and roll Mr F over in the bed.
I went to bed at 9 - exhausted.
I have a trolley and bag full of stuff to take to a charity shop as soon as they open this morning.
I will visit Mr F this afternoon.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Florenceem please take care of your own health. If you are too tired or visiting MrF to go to the SA, they will have to manage without you. Thinking of you both x2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

And finally, were off!
Sold my book on eBay.
10 plastic bags recycled at Aldi.

Selling books on eBay is more effort than Music Magpie or Ziffit, but you definitely get more for it. Worth it I'd say.Keep reading books!

Floss - I am not volunteering at SA at the moment - I didn't go to church yesterday.
Monday and Tuesday are days when I usually don't anything at SA apart from sorting donations - that is not happening.

Thick frost here - I went into town with a trolley and bag full of stuff - nearly slipped over.
My trainers had lost their tread so are now in the bin. I was trying to carry on wearing them until a hole appeared but have given up on that idea.
About to take another walk into town. .Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
