Here's to the .New Year All,
It has taken me days to get here.
Hugs to those who are having a tough time.
I'm not even sure of what I have got rid of, not that I record numbers. I just know things move slowly and that space does start to appear and I can "feel the difference" like pressure has been released a bit. I seem to focus on the very small things and not even sure why this happens. I am noticing that stuff from my parents is not holding me back like it have been before and am looking at it with different eyes and heart. They are both still doing OKish. Mum has mixed dementia and has some lucid and very funny times and conversations. These moments are the one's that throw us off kilter a bit as they catch us out. It is what it is.
Need to get items listed onto tebay as they are changing how they make their money. It will start to cost the buyer a bit more when purchasing off private sellers from early Feb 25. I did quite well at the back end of last year so just need to start this recycling the pennies again. I need to check whether the sales pennies number starts from the beginning of a year or tax year.
Still working with moving more from the loft than what goes up there. There is stuff down stairs that I really could do with moving up out of the way (This is stuff that needs to leave the house - not really take up residence hidden away) as we have work to do downstairs still!!
I love this mantra that someone has used in MSE somewhere and I am going to make good use of it frequently Twenty Twenty Thrive!
Take care all

A very successful day on the decluttering front today, bringing my total to 1169 items out so far. Took almost an hour and a half to shred all the documents relating to the old house, submit closing meter reading etc but that is now decluttered and a refund is winging it's way back to my bank account for gas, electric and water which is a bonus.
As I was on a roll, and DD was being very obliging with taking a 2.5 hour nap today due to her snuffles, I kept going and cleared through the toolbox and stationery. Duplicate tools dropped off at our local resource centre for use in their basic DIY skills course they run, and numerous wonky/splotchy/dead pens etc into the bin. Final declutter of the day was 2 elderly lemons found in the back of the fridge, which is have decluttered into a lemon drizzle cake so the house smells fabulous.
Going to treat myself to a cuppa and a slice of cake now; also found a favourite book mixed in with the box I was sorting that I haven't seen for a good 6 months, so planning to reread that this evening.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and enjoying their newfound space from all the marvelous achievements I've now caught up on reading about, this train moves quickly2025 in 2025- 2027/2025

@Florenceem hugs and hope treatment and investigations are helpful and as others have said please accept all help and take care of yourself.
Sorted through some of Dd2 stuff, some.clothes washed and when dry will take to cs. 15 items taken to cs from her stash, bags, purses clothes . Added 3 plates.
Still have to do tax and tidy up. Off to outdoor shop with friend I'm going away with for a few weeks in a month or two, looking for ruck sack etc. Been going to the gym so I can carry without grumbling.
Dd2 worrying about going to australia ( her year out - had wanted Sweden or Copenhagen! And dd1 been ill and a/e where given fluids but they think flu but means she has to stay off her placement so her uni will be extended even longer!

Another batch of soup made - a bit of a sludgy colour as I used red kidney beans instead of cannellini but it was an ood can and I wanted to be rid of it. Freezer is now full which is a shame as I have ingredients for another soup to uu two tins of lentils. I may have a bit of a play with the bottom freezer shelf tomorrow to see if I can squeeze a bit more in as it would be good to make the soup so I don’t have to make any during the week.
Did a two week old frog this morning - it was a biggie but well worth getting done as I feel so much better.
Bedroom tidy up has started as has paper clearance from the living room piles.
All in all a much better day. I feel so much happier if I feel progress is being made.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅18 -
Thank you for my medal Mrs SD
Florenceem I hope you are able to sleep tonightNot much decluttering done over the last couple of days, i volunteer on Fridays and today I have been out and aboutOne pair of socks with a large hole binned yesterday and I went around the house before the recycling was collected today picking up a few bits to go in.The cat was nearly decluttered downstairs last night, it seems 1am was the ideal time to lay on my head and purr loudly 🙄 by the third time of pushing him off gently removing him I was very awake and if I wasn't so warm and cosy would have carried him downstairs and shut him in, annoyingly I was sleeping which is unusual with my dodgy hip 🐈⬛ so a afternoon nap was had this afternoon and now I'm too awake!Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin15 -

Dinner was delicious 😋 especially the sausages (Exceptional by ASDA) (bought instead of Walls which DH & DSis have been unable to find anywhere since well before Christmas. DH made a pan of soup. Wudupa.
61 - 64 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, magazine, coffee tin - recycled
65 Kitchen detritus binned
DSis & I are currently watching Dead City: The Walking Dead.
Great decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 Good luck with your new listings 🍀 Fingers crossed that the Foodbank turned up on Thursday, as promised🤞Although This “…………. Be glad to get rid as Frankie, my mischievous kitty likes licking the orange bags…not the cream ones, just the orange ones the little weirdo!” had me roaring with laughter 🤣 & quite startled my DSis 😳
Now, now Blue_Doggy - none of that 😉 Not only did you do your household chores But you spent time wading through an insurance document 👏 That is enough to drive anyone to distraction 😜 Insurance documents seem to be designed to obfuscate any useful information 😡 Not sure I could function without my washer/dryer, so I am very impressed that you have survived 4 years without a washing machine 🤩 Fingers crossed that the utility room will get cleared soon 🤞& you can get very own washing machine 🙂
Excellent decluttering BudgetingBelinda 👏 Although I am really, really curious about the 2 toothbrushes in your work bag 🤨
Another page caught up 💃 I will wish you all a good night, sleep tight 😴

@ @Florenceem sending you big hugs and hoping that you're catching up with your sleep and takng a little 'me time' out of the day to just stop xxxWell done everyone with all the decluttering efforts. I'm mainly having a break from listing at the moment with just a few auctions running, but I've managed to sell / clear out 1 large doors worth of items from a large 4 door wardrobe. Just another 3 to go. I seem to have no end of new tweed items that have been gifted to me over the years behind door 2 & my daughter also has a large selection of new tweed backpacks lurking behind door 3. I'm thinking of creating a short break savings pot so that my daughter & I could have some time away together with proceeds from any sales. Food for thought, but I'm far too tired and exhausted at the moment to list any more due to having had a terrible outbreak of both shingles & bronchitis 2 days before Christmas, which I'm told, will take several weeks to heal & clear even with bucket loads of medication,so it's more bed rest & sleep than it is anything else at the moment
Wishing everyone well with their continuted decluttering for 2025 xx

@Florenceem - You have my permission to lie down on the floor and throw a fit until a doctor or at least a nurse listens to you. They have started my roommate on oxygen for her sleepiness. Surely there is something they can do, especially if he is trying to talk and nothing is coming out. Remember, just lie on the floor and let it go - or try yelling.

weenancyinAmerica - re your advice - I think a burly security guard would be called if I lay on the floor and threw a fit. I would be labelled a difficult relative. We English people don't do that sort of thing anyway.
I went to bed at 9 - just so tired.
Woke and 5 and lay there thinking over the last few days - what a start to 2025.
Got up before 6.30 and had breakfast to get myself going.
I sent a text to C that I wasn't going to be at church and could he organise the offering. They will have to manage without me. My SA friend won't be there also as she was booked to preach elsewhere so they will be short of volunteers for refreshments with both of us absent.
I don't know what time I am going to the hospital today.
Cold here with a thick frost.
We had thick mist yesterday afternoon but when youngest daughter drove away from the coast - it was clear which was good for her driving on the motorway.
