- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday continued: DH & DSis left 14:05. I settled down with a cuppa & phoned my bank. One of my bits of mail was my CC bill - hadn’t realised how small my Credit Limit was 😱 So when I paid the actual amount owed I added on yesterday’s amount paid to the dentist as it had taken me very close to my limit😮💨 I then checked my transactions & updated my paper records - everything is tickety-boo 🙂 DH & DSis got back 15:35 & I have put all the shopping away. Only thing left to do is portion up the meat for the freezer. I had just settled down to start the cheerleading when there was a knock at the door - a MOPAC (Mayor’s Office for Policing & Crime) survey. Lots of questions which took about 20 minutes. Then got distracted again as DH wanted to make soup. I gathered together all the ingredients - bottom of fridge vegetables, leftovers including bags of vegetable los from the freezer. Pan now bubbling away on the hob. Further distracted by DH wanting to clean the top oven. I took the inside door glass out & this has been sprayed with oven cleaner. I made up a solution of soda crystals, completely wetted a cloth & laid it on the floor of the oven. We checked the instruction booklet & the shelving brackets can be removed & cleaned but that is for another day. The oven is a bit cleaner now. Just in time for DSis to cook her dinner - quiche & chips. DH & I had pan fried sockeye salmon fillets, with boiled new potatoes & peas 😋 Wudupa.
1939 - 1943 Kitchen recycling, magazine, large cardboard box, 0.5” paperwork, drinks cans - recycled
1944 - 1946 Kitchen & lr detritus, 0.25” shredding - binned
Now I will have a short burst of cheerleading staring with posts dated 15th 😉
Liverpool_Anne, surprising how much one can get done with short bursts of activity 👏 Hopefully you have managed to clear the kitchen work surfaces & have kept the items you love 🤞 Monday was a successful decluttering day combined with a pleasant meeting up with friends ☺️ Excellent work on Tuesday clearing leaves, getting so much laundry done & finding items to declutter items into a CS bag 👏 Hope your sister loved her flowers 💐 It sounds like your sister has a plan to recover but such a shame that she has to pay for private physio 😔 Hopefully DNiece will put your mind at rest when you manage to speak to her 🤞Hope you enjoyed your meet up with your ex-colleague 😊
Willowtree222, hopefully the builders have or will soon be finished & you can restart your decluttering journey 🤞 I hope you took photos of your first pottery attempts before binning them 🤞After all it would be nice to look back on how far you have come along in your pottery making skills 😊
Excellent decluttering Rootle 👏
Good luck with your frogs/tasks TC77 🍀
suzeesu2000, that chicken dish sounds very tasty 🤤 Well done on getting rid of the plastic chopping board 👏 Shame about having to take a step back on your family tree person 😞 hopefully you will have more success with your DH’s nanny 😊 Not boring at all, I find it all very interesting & I am full of admiration for anyone who works so hard tracking down information on their family tree 🥹
Excellent work TC77 👏
BlueJ94, I rather like the sound of your breakfast 😋 Pleased to hear that you have started packing 😉 Well done keeping your home tidy 👏 I will probably still be behind with the cheerleading, so will take this opportunity to wish you a very happy holiday 😊
GrannyKate, yippee to to having all the leaks repaired 🥳 Fingers crossed that you won’t need another plumber for a long time 🤞Excellent work with the decluttering & tasks completion 👏 Good luck with This “I need to start getting rid of more things in lounge although decorating that will be next year. Re glasses I have rather too many on a high shelf of the kitchen larder cupboard. I cannot reach it easily and I have nothing else to put up there so they can stay - lots did go both when packing and again after the move. Once I get new bed with storage for bedroom 2 lots of spare bedding can go in there and I can reclaim space in my wardrobes. There is some stuff in lounge that can go on the spare shelves in my wardrobes. I have already allocated one shelf to jigsaws and will not allow any more to take root that will not fit on the one shelf.” 🍀such good planning 👏 Excellent work with the 1p Savings Challenge 👏 Hope you have a lovely weekend with DS1 🥹 & that Sox forgives you quickly when you get back 😉🤞
Great decluttering MadamMim2013 👏 Hope you have a wonderful time meeting up with your friend 😊
Great work completing 28/25 classes Wednesday2000👏 A medal 🏅 is on its way 🙂 Good luck with the decluttering, cleaning & tidying 🍀
I have caught up a little & will try harder tomorrow 🙂 sleep tight 😴
P.S. re the rainbow hat, DH sent a picture to his DNiece S & she as well as her mum & her daughter all really like the hat 😮💨 Just hope R likes it 🤞 There were messages flying back & forth but my favourite was from DH’s DSis “At least he will be easy to spot in a crowd” 🙊

Excellent point about the xmas deccies to charity. Our local hospice shop has started their Xmas display. I picked up a huge bag of baubles for £4. I’ve kept the red plastic ones I was after for our little hazel tree and….drumroll please….already returned the rest of the bag (mostly silver) to be resold. Our hospice has recently declared a funding crisis so doing my best to support them as they are a community asset.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Haven’t posted for several weeks. I made a difficult decision and asked OH to move out. He has found a rental property and most of his things have gone - he will come and fetch the rest next week. So whilst I am sad and miss his company, I also feel as though I can breathe again. I don’t know what the future holds for us, but in the meantime I need to focus on my health which has deteriorated over the past few months.
The first thing I need to do at home is tidy up so that I can get some help with cleaning and food prep so I can eat much more healthily and use my limited energy to do my physio exercises, deal with admin and arranging home maintenance etc which I am way behind with.
A new TD has been ordered as well as various consumables which are running low - I have bulk ordered so I don’t have to think about them for a few months.
So, I had better get dressed and make a start.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅19 -
Hope you're OK, Ocean spirit. A very difficult decision.

Hi all, couple of frustrating days. Dsis eventually got her flowers after they had been delivered to a hedge about a mile from her house and were found by a random dog walker who walked to dsis's house with them. That resulted in me trying to contact the florist and the delivery company. You can't actually speak to anyone so phone messages left and emails sent. The florist has replied and a "replacement" order will be delivered next week. So far nothing from the delivery company apart from an email asking for details I have already sent them. The reply to that was quite sharp and along the lines of read what I have sent you already. We shall see what happens.
Update on Dsis, she is now downstairs and walking around on crutches though still has a few problems with balance 😁
Spoke to my Dniece and all ok but they are all tired which is only to be expected. Dniece seems to think I might not have to visit as Dsis is determined to not need me. We shall decide closer to Dniece leaving.
So in the past couple of days the following has been done, lr bin x2, 1 LDFPA, 600 emails deleted, 4 items to the cs bag, a visit to the dentist and a sleep aid room spray finally uu and bottle recycled and a toilet ordered 😁.
Today I am hoping to get the cs bag out, pick up the toilet and get the stuff out from under the stairs so the toilet can be stored there temporarily. This evening we are going to a 60th birthday party and I have to pick up a card, we have a gift already 😁
@Vulpix hope the move went well
@oceanspirit big hugs
Right better get weaving, OH has just gone out to work so I can get on with something now 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1411 LDFPA
1412 & 1413 lr bin
1414 - 1419 emails permanently deleted
1420 room spray thing
Take care everyone

Some in and some out this week.
A new tabletop freezer in (and filled with home made soups and cooked fruit ready for crumbles), a warming tray here temporarily (gifted on a free site), a large picture frame has been claimed by DD, large boxes have gone to work for nativity scene, more wood, paint and wool have been used up for the snowmen which will leave the house in the next week or so.
Most important of all, and the most exciting, Grandchildren here for the weekend and another DD's dog for the week!12 -
Not posted for a bit and not been checking the updates as life got in the way! But...
Today is my birthday, yay!!! So lots of bits have come in
and not much has gone out. I have sold another 3 things of ebay and had to throw out a pair of trousers, which I managed to get resin all over and couldn't rescue. They were my favourite "Saturday" trousers so never worn outside but they were so comfy.
DH and I saw Rob Newman (comedian) last night and he was really good, although some of the things he was talking about did go over my head a little
@vulpix Good luck with the move x
@oceanspirit hope you're ok x

Saturday is another dark overcast day with a high of 16°C, low 11°C & a chilly breeze 😞 DH & I each had a bowl of hm soup - not our best one but filling & nutritious. Good news from France - DNephew has received the package his mum sent & didn’t have to pay anything 🥳 & not sure how this works in France, but apparently the debt he got into has been written off 🤨 I have put the wm on with the last of the main washing - a bath mat & kitchen drainer mat. DH is walking to the doctor’s surgery to get his flu jab & get some steps in 🙂 Now resuming the cheerleading from posts dated 16th
1947 completed Sudoku book recycled
vulpix, you certainly did a lot of work on your “stop gap house” - the new owners are very lucky 😊 Pleased to hear that your hospital appointment was a mainly good experience 😮💨 Amazed that you are still decluttering so close to moving - 10 balls of wool 🤩 I suppose This “Mr V smashed a large work top saver with a very hot pan. Saves me the problem of having to pack it.” is one way of decluttering 🙊 Good luck with your “million last minute things to do” 🍀
Liverpool_Anne, sorry to hear This “…. but I am starting to panic a bit about how much I still have to do before the builder arrives” 😞 However, I have every faith that you will get everything sorted before he arrives ☺️ Excellent work decluttering all those lids 👏 hopefully the matching containers will turn up soon & those can be decluttered as well 😉 Pleased to hear that you had a nice time with your ex-colleagues 😊 & very impressed that you resisted the temptation to have cake/s 🤩 Great news about your DSis 🥹 Being able to get up & down stairs will hopefully mean she recovers more quickly 🙏
Willowtree222, This “Binned some trainers that i used as garden trainers. I have outdoor shoes anyway and the rabbit had taken a dislike to them so had eaten the laces out of them and would throw them outside when he came in. No idea why these shoes irritated him so much.” is very weird 🫤 but did make me chuckle 🙊 Excellent decluttering 👏 Good luck decluttering the batteries 🍀
Teaparty_mum, there are some days when the mood to declutter just goes on holiday 😉 It will come back 😊
Brie, great idea 👏 as it keeps the momentum going until the ‘Decluttering Mojo’ returns 😊
TC77, of course I am giving you the benefit - you always come through 😊 Very pleased to hear that you resisted DD1’s suggestion to put up shelves 👏 After all you are trying to declutter not create extra storage 😉
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 Very impressed at the number of Bags of Joy you have delivered 🤩
Excellent work Floss 👏
TC77, hopefully you can borrow a fridge thermometer 🤞either that or have a look in the CS when you are making a drop off 🤔 Some good decluttering & well done on clearing the table 👏
Willowtree222, excellent work decluttering your herbs rack 👏 I hope you are opening the drawer every time you pass it, just so you can remind yourself of a job well done ☺️
Moorviews, the dental treatment went far better than I expected 😮💨 Now just working myself into a tizzy about the next appointment ☹️ Excellent work sorting clothes 👏 Hopefully you will be able to replace your thermals with some of similar quality that will last another 10 years 🤞 Excellent decluttering of food stores 👏 & good luck with your rethink about your diet 🍀
Just noticed the time so need to start thinking about making dinner 😉 Hope everyone has had as good a day as possible & that everyone has managed to stay warm 🤞See you later 👋
