2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering
Well my morning went downhill. Mr F wasn't getting up so I packed some bits for SA - popped round with them. When I got back - Mr F had been 12 hours in bed so I said - you must need a wee. I had a terrible job getting him on his feet and had to practically carry him to the bathroom. There was no way he could stand at the toilet so I sat him down. Then I went to get him from the bathroom and he was all over the place - wobbly and muttering. I phoned 111 and was asked questions and the person said that they were sending an emergency ambulance - it turned up in about 8 minutes with flashing lights. Mr F was checked all over and his blood sugar was low - well he hadn't eaten since his dinner at 6 as I couldn't get him out of bed. He had jam on toast and tea and his blood sugar was back to normal but they could see how wobbly he was and that I wouldn't be able to get him to the Doctors surgery. Then it was a case of deciding what action to take. Did he go to A & E which would be heaving or stay at home. It was decided that he will be visited today by a team which is made up of doctors and nurses. So I have cancelled my appointment to collect my glasses as I need to be home. I took Mr F his breakfast upstairs and another cup of tea so he is still in bed. I don't think that I could get him downstairs. I think that the paramedics thought that I wasn't coping very well.
I am so sorry to hear of what you are going through @Florenceem. I hope that this afternoon goes well and you are able to get some help.
I have not been doing well this week on the decluttering front as I have been too busy stuffing everything I own into the storage unit (my numbers are going to SOAR when it comes to emptying that thing). I did declutter my cross stitch by finishing it, and I am now going to be tackling one I started... 20 years ago. But if I finish that one, it will clear out my sewing box at last, and get rid of it hanging around. I plan to frame it for my friends birthday this year in May, so that will be lots of thread OUT and a gift made for FREE. Woo. I will assign myself 10 points for that one when its finished, purely for the joy of it not hanging over my shoulder like a creepy uncle. I've been putting it on my resolutions list for two decades!

What an awful morning for you @Florenceem! I do hope that the community team will manage to visit you today. The paramedics will see your kind of situation all the time and I imagine are only concerned for you both, rather than judging anyone. The days are long gone, unfortunately, when older people could access admission wards for assessment relatively easily. My thoughts are with you 💐
Oh @Florenceem, have been reading your posts after the last couple of days and it could be my nan writing about my grandad. I won't say anymore but just that I hope the team this afternoon can help to work out what's going on with Mr F and help you both get the support you need.
Not a lot happening on the decluttering front over here but I have made a list of the things that I need to do so that's a start I guess!

Oh dear @Florenceem. What a worry for you. Hoping that your visitors make things happen for you and MrF. Your efforts on his behalf do you credit, but we all need help sometimes. I have my 🤞for you both xx
Brie, as Liverpool Anne says, Sunday undies are those that have developed holes.
Daisy, I have kept one of my teenage diaries as it’s hilarious and I do read it occasionally. I wish I had kept some of my grandparents letters though as I would love to read them now - I got rid of them a long time ago, not as part of decluttering just as routine.
Soup making took up all available energy yesterday and am struggling to get going today. Accidentally defrosted two meal portions so will have them today - sadly they are not a matching pair so we will be eating different meals today. At least the accompanying veg will be the same.
Nothing big decluttered today, just the usual rubbish & recycling out. Sadly decluttered ££ in Lidly today.. haven’t been for nearly a month, noted one or two prices have crept up again, still, this means we are covered stock wise for a while.
@Florenceem have been thinking of you and Mr F, it’s a worrying and frustrating time for you both with what’s occurring. I really am relieved that they’ll be sending a team to assess Mr F, be sure to tell them as much as possible about his recent downturn, even things you may think are irrelevant, the clearer the picture they have of any deterioration the more they can offer in regard to help. Though I’m sure everyone here has already said this please take care of you too..
Off to make OH a cuppa then make a list of jobs to do..
@Florenceem , I am very glad that 111 and the paramedics were able to help you and MrF - you definitely did the right thing by ringing 111 - and I hope that the visiting team can get the assessment/diagnosis/treatment ball moving. You're in my thoughts and prayers xx
DH is hopefully going out to a sale of unwanted Christmas gifts this evening. He (who has a garage and a bedroom stuffed to the gunwales) said he didn't think he'd got anything to take, so I have given him some of my stuff that was already in the donation box: a pair of unworn but far too heavy canvas shoes and some unwanted, too small, greetings card blanks. He's going to ask if any crafters would like to make use of the fronts off our Christmas cards, and also offer some NT and EH magazines free of charge - if there are no takers, I've told him to bring them all home again and I'll see if anyone at church wants them.
