Florenceem said:Lovely nurse has just been here. I told her what was happening and before we went into the bedroom - she said Dementia.
Nurse could see that the Dr had requested a head mri with ? alzheimers/dementia on it.
She looked at his leg - no Cellulitis - just the markings from previous bouts.
Nurse told me to phone my dr's surgery and ask for the frailty team. So I did that and am waiting to hear from them.I've been reading along today and am so glad that MrF will now be looked at more seriously. You and him both deserve so much help after all you have done for others. Now's the time for you and your family. Whatever is decided about MrF's care it's nothing to do with others although most will be thinking about how much you care for him in getting so much medical help.I hope that you can take pride in what you have been doing for him.23 -

My thoughts are with you @Florenceem. Sounds like Mr F will be getting some professional assessment and you won't feel so alone with it all.please keep us updated as we are all worried for you both.
A late start for me as we had visitors all over Christmas until 5th January. I have finally unpacked suitcase bought back on 28th Dec. Have washed all of the towels used for swimming and baths whilst family stayed here.( Thank goodness for new washing machine with inbuilt tumble dryer) One bin bag worth of recycling has been collected from new clothes packaging and boxes surrounding Christmas presents alongside Christmas card backs.( The fronts will be used for cards for selling next year)craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

Having disappeared so abruptly last night, I forgot to mention that DSis struggled to eat after her dentist appointment 😔 She has very sensitive teeth so the dentist gave her dozens of injections to numb her mouth whilst he gave her teeth a deep clean 😣 However this meant that her face was numb until about 22:00 (about 4.5 hours later) She finally managed to eat at 22:30 having heated up a bowl of spaghetti bolognaise 😊
Wednesday : I was up very late today 13:30 & woke with a headache (I never seem to learn that if I wake for a bathroom visit at 10ish I should just get up 😔) By the way I did do the wudupa before I went to bed 😅 DH has been up a while as he has filled the bird feeders & had a bowl of hm soup for lunch. The bread I picked up yesterday in M&S did get his seal of approval 🙂 My contribution to proceedings has been to put a new black bin bag in the wheelie bin which was emptied this morning & to add a dismantled cardboard box & some paper packaging to the now empty recycling wheelie bin. It would appear that it is either emptied every two to three weeks OR a day early 😂
41 - 42 Cardboard box, paper packaging - recycled
It is bitterly cold with a high of 2°C although I appreciate that compared to the temperatures elsewhere it is practically a heatwave 😏 I hope everyone is managing to stay safe & warm. Today’s cheerleading is for posts dated 5th January 😉
Muddy_Walker, I read your comment about peat free compost & have to agree about the quality 😕 so thank you for the tip to improve it 👏
Lovely to see you wishus 👋 Sorry to hear about the hassle getting logged back in ☹️ First things first, congratulations on reaching 2024 in 2024 👏 I have updated the 2024 Awards list to reflect the two extra gold stars (see 2024 Decluttering Thread 😉) Also great work with the kitchen & bathroom renovations 👏 I am looking forward to following your progress with your 2025 projects of cellar & office rejuvenation 😊 Good luck 🍀
TC77, hopefully you have managed to sort out the musty drawers 🤞After years of telling myself I would repurpose Christmas cards, I bit the bullet in 2022 & now just dismantle - I keep some parts as scrap for quick notes rather than trying to find the relevant notebook, put other parts in the recycling bin & any embossed/glitter laden pieces go in the general rubbish so I don’t contaminate my recycling 😉
dND I hope the rain didn’t cause you too many problems 🤞
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Belated birthday greetings for your Mum 🥳 🎂 How great that DD1 cooked dinner for you on the 5th 👏 This “…. She (DD1) does so much more cooking than me. I don't want them (ingredients) to sit there till they go out of date. I am full of good intentions when I see things in the shops but in reality we have a small repetoire of meals we will both eat. Tbh, I am bored of cooking these days. I have always made everything from scratch.” resonated with me especially the “bored with cooking” 😅 You have quite possibly finished knitting the baby jumper 😉 so I do hope you have revisited the neck of the adult jumper 🤞After all once it is done you can declutter it to its intended recipient & have all that lovely space for your next project 😅
Liverpool_Anne, shame about the ood food from the fridge ☹️ My new solution to that problem is to keep the fridge relatively empty 😂 it is working so far & I have only had to bin one item 👏 Congratulations on finishing the pink baby blanket 👏 Hope you managed to post a photo before you posted it 🙏 Also hope that you got the desired result at the footie on the 5th & managed to stay relatively warm whilst out in the freezing cold 🙏
Muddy_Walker, great work on the 5th - both decluttering & dealing with paperwork 👏
Reached the end of another page 🙂 I hope that all our Declutterati family are safe & warm 🙏 & that if you do have to venture out that you are being very careful 🙏 See you later 👋

As I was on a roll I thought I would do a bit more cheerleading. Still replying to posts dated the 5th January:
WickedLady4, what a great suggestion about decluttering Christmas cards & wreaths 👏
QueenJess, another great suggestion 👏 Does this mean that Christmas cards become Christmas postcards?
nannywindow, I hope you managed to get your dad to the opticians on the 6th 🤞As you say, snow looks very pretty but it really is not conducive to safe driving conditions 😥 I will bet a pound to a penny that your DH thought he was being ‘helpful’ packing away the Christmas decorations 😂 Just wondering if you sent him out & then repacked them as per your tried & trusted method 😉 Great work sorting out the excess food stuffs & decanting other foods into more suitable containers 👏
Florenceem, an awful start to the year 😥 I have been reading ahead so am keeping up with the situation re MrF. I am so very sorry that this is happening 😞 Please, please try to look after yourself 🙏 as I do worry that you are trying to do too much 🥺
Tjh1412, wow you were busy on the 5th 🤩 I was exhausted 😩 just reading about how much you got done what with all the decluttering, Tip trips, setting up temporary beds, filling charity bags, preparing clothes for first day back at work/school & amidst all that finding time to drop off loads of baby clothes including hand knitted ones 👏🥹 This “………. made it to the local maternity wing of the hospital, hoping to use up some of the craft stash by having signed up to provide more hats as they give every baby a knitted one when they're born” is such a marvellous idea 😇 💐 Great numbers by the way & as you have already passed the first milestone of 507/2025 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ I will also point out that you are well on the way to getting a 2nd gold star 😉 Now that you have found us, I am sure that there will be ‘NO falling off the (decluttering) wagon (or in this case ‘train’) in 2025 😊 This is your year 😊 Remember even if you can fit in 10 minutes a day it will help 👏 Good luck 🍀
Didn’t quite make it to the end of a page but need to charge my iPad 😉 “I’ll be back” …. imagine Arnie 😂

floss I am slightly concerned I might have to 🤷♀️ as I don't think the favourite few action men mr d kept will look nice in lime green polyester slacks or a quilted orange ski suit 😆
Regnbue sadly the mirror is slightly ungluing and sindy definitely had to use her imagination to see her reflection 😆
Flowerpot your housecsounds lovely, orange and brown wallpaper was the height of sophistication then 😀
Muddywalker lovely news 😍

Great news for your mum and you, @Muddy_Walker xx
@Florenceem , I'm very pleased to hear that you and MrF are getting some help - though I'm sure the provisional diagnosis is not so welcome. Have you spoken to C at the SA? I'm sure your church will support you if they know about the situation xx
This afternoon I had planned to make Spanish Chicken Casserole for tea - the recipe includes the juice of 2 oranges, and DH (yes, the man who said he couldn't find anything to declutter!) had been ignoring the last 2 oranges in the fruit bowl ever since I bought them at the beginning of December, so they were getting very wizened and IMHO only good for cooking with. I put them on the side with the recipe after lunch, and by 2.00 one had disappeared! Oh well, the casserole will be less orangey than it should be, but I'm sure it will still taste OK.
ETA: it was excellent!

Evening all,
Not much decluttering going on but I tried yorkshire tea the other day which was jam and toast flavour which was amazing! So I've picked up caramelised biscuit to try!
I'm going to make work lunch for the next two days which is going to be a healthy pasta salad! I'm so stuck on what to make for lunches that are on the healthy side.
