Hi all, thought I'd post this pic of the baby blanket before I forget 🤣.

The thread is going great guns. I can hardly keep up. Nothing found for me today as we ventured out shopping as it was our cleaners day. I got a blouse reduced in Tesco that will match some trousers I got from there last year. I have never worn them because I had no top to go with them. They are evening wear / cruise wear. We also got new salt and pepper mills. Slightly ugly but made of wood and in the sale. Should stand Mr V dropping them on the floor, unlike the last ones.
Sorted my little craft drawer yesterday.Various things bagged up in a little crochet bag for the Hospice craft shop. I will call it 8 things.
Sofas look great. I didn't realise how grubby they must have been. Still got a couple of throws to wash.
Florenceem, I agree A&E is no place for Mr F. Please don't attempt to take him downstairs by yourself. Here's hoping tomorrow will bring some news. I have said it before and I will say it again, accept all offers of help. xx
I love your Sindy wardrobe and clothes Daisy, you must get a Sindy doll. I had one and washed her hair under the hot tap. The water was so hot her hair melted. She had a crew cut thereafter.
Muddy, most excellent news. Your Mum is twins with Mr V.
Liverpool Anne, what a lovely blanket, It will be treasured. I can't read a crochet pattern but I can see what you have done there, I shall have to have a go at that.
Mrs SD, your poor sister, I am cringing just imagining having numerous injections in the mouth. I am still putting off doing the neck on the big jumper. I have almost finished the matching baby jumper. We might meet up with Ds's family at a petting farm this weekend which is about half way between where we live. Dependent on the weather being slightly warmer. we are -7 just now. Fomo is taking no chances of being cold and is snoring in between me and Mr V in bed.
Yoga is cancelled for me tomorrow as my yoga teacher is snowed in. I have no excuse not to go through the drawers in the sitting room. Anything other than finish the jumper.
Sending get well wishes for those who need them. Vx:18 -
Hi all again just caught up with all the posts.
@Florenceem big hugs
@Muddy_Walker great news
@Blue_Doggy yes the dried fruit is sweet, I never add sugar to porridge even without the fruit but a small handful chucked in when I bung it in the microwave to cook is lovely. I have dried fruit all year in the cupboard but I don't have it every day, just as a treat 😁. Your description of the laundry reminded me of when I was a student. At one point I lived in a flat with 3 others and my friend and I would do our washing in the bath, using a bar of green fairy soap. There was no washing machine but there was a spin dryer so after it was all scrubbed it was rinsed and spun and hung on the pull up in the bathroom. We washed on Wednesday and the others washed on Saturday so there was a fighting chance of getting it dry 😂. In another flat we use to use the bag wash and I remember going once when we had all completely run out of clean clothes, I had everyones washing and had practically taken over the place and was sitting there in a pair of knickers and a knee length cagool to cover my modesty 😂. I didn't even have clean socks 😂. When I got my first flat after college I had a twin tub and it seemed like heaven not having to hand wash or go to the bag wash, but I have an automatic now. Hope it's not too long before you get your own machine 😁
Today has been quite busy, 2 loads swished but only 1 LDFPA so the maiden is creaking. The bathroom bin was emptied and a candle lighter that had stopped working was binned. The baby blanket was wrapped in tissue and popped into a gift bag from my stash and delivered to ln, so out of the house
. 2 frogs done today, a bulb ordered for my lava lamp, only been blown for 2 years 😂 and I got a new laptop. I felt so amazed at myself for walking into the shop and admitting to the young salesman that I needed a new one but didn't have a clue which one to get. Luckily he was very kind and helpful and I ended up with one that was about £200 cheaper than my budget which should do me for a few years and had all the things I wanted on it with regards to hardware. I might need some software but I am still in the process of setting it up. The destructions consisted of a double sided piece of A5, I might need more than that😂😂😂. Anyhow I fiddled around with it for a couple of hours, with lots of sweary swearing 😂 but put it to one side when the footy came on the tv. I will try to finish sorting it tomorrow 👃. It kept sending me emails to check for things so I was trying to find them on my phone, very messy I thought and what if you didn't have a smart phone????. I would have ended up having to get the shop to set it up. When I got home I was so chuffed with myself but OH said "well you've only been threatening to get one for 10 years" so I am counting that as a frog 😁.
Next thing on my list is a tin opener that lasts more than 6 months, any recommendations?
Right off to bed now
Hugs to everyone who would like one

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
iPad is fully charged so as promised I’m back 😉 I have tried to be a busy bee since my last post so here goes: prepped vegetables & meat for dinner; watched Countdown whilst folding the last of yesterday’s laundry + repaired a pair of my newly laundered knickers; whilst cooking I did the wudupa; decanted coffee from the large tin to a jar & decanted soda crystals from large pot to smaller pot. Dinner was fried chicken, boiled potatoes, carrots & peas. Unusually I did the wudupa straight after dinner rather than leaving it for later 😉 I have started watching The Walking Dead from the start …… again 😂 & then DSis & I watched the first 3 episodes of the 2nd series of Daryl Dixon: The Walking Dead. Thoroughly enjoying it - a bit faster paced than the 1st series & a lot more action 😃
43 - 44 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
45 Kitchen detritus binned
Forgot to mention that it has rained on & off since 18:00 ☹️ Still cheerleading posts dated 5th January:
Lovely post Moorviews 😊 Also excellent decluttering & using up of vegetables for hm soup 👏
Lovely to meet you LittleMissDetermined 👋 Of course you can join us, we love to see new people & what a lovely reason to start your decluttering journey 😊 This is your year 😉
Natty68, it absolutely does count as decluttering especially as you reduced the number of boxes returned to the loft 👏Hope you didn’t tire yourselves out moving the Christmas tree into its home for the year & had enough energy left to do the dusting/cleaning before repopulating the shelving units with your ornaments 🤞I have noted your target of 2025 black bags of stuff. That will be a phenomenal amount of stuff leaving your home 🤩 A pity about no cs bags but I see that you have come up with rather an elegant solution 👏
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 👏 What a great story 😊 & just goes to show what I have always suspected ……….. a lot of men are hoarders 🤣😉
Lovely post charlies_tribe 😊 Great work in the younger children’s bedroom on the 4th 👏 I hope that Dog 1 is OK after his ‘exertions’ of the 5th 😉 & that there have been no further incidents 🤞
Excellent decluttering redofromstart 👏 So impressed by the amount you decluttered in an afternoon that I am awarding you a medal 🏅 Keep up the good work 😊
Lovely chatty post gsdloopy 😊 Remember, even if you only declutter a single item you are heading in the right direction 👏 & anyway time spent with family is far more preferable than decluttering 😊 Looking forward to seeing you when you have time to pop in 😊
MadamMim2013, Sounds like you had a lovely Saturday night away & a relaxing Sunday 😊 Just the ticket to recharge your batteries ready for a busy Monday 👏 Good luck with the Vinted listings 🍀
Muddy_Walker, sounds like a relaxing Sunday & how lovely to have cwtches with Dog1 😊 This “Dog2 has been watching a bluebottle…..thought it was too cold for insects?” that’s probably what Dog2 was trying to understand 😅
charlies_tribe, what a great present - an HP terrarium 😊 I am sure however it is painted it will look just as good as the picture 🙂
Great decluttering ionafan 👏 Are you sure you want to put the ginger cake in the freezer 😉
Excellent decluttering SuperLooperSaver 👏 I love that you are involving DS in the decision making about his toys 🥹 one of our youngest declutterers 🥳
Excellent decluttering BudgetingBelinda 👏
I have just noticed the time so will post & head to bed. Sleep tight 😴

@Liverpool_Anne - the baby blanket is beautiful 😍
@Florenceem - it does sound as though Mr F is firmly on the radar now for his needs to be urgently assessed. I hope that you managed to sleep.@GrannyKate - good luck with the electrical work today.I am planning on tackling the spice drawer again today. Although, I did go through it recently, I have since used some things up and seem to have multiple refills floating around. Bought because I was disorganised! I shall get them all into one jar or tub and make things easier to keep orderly.18 -
Great news for your mum @Muddy_Walker and that blanket is gorgeous @Liverpool_Anne, wish I could knit like that. My nan taught me once upon a time but it's been a while. I started getting back into cross stitch at the end of last year and once I've finished that project then I might start learning to knit again.
Also feeling sympathy for your sister @Mrs_Salad_Dodger - I also have sensitive teeth but have a lovely and very understanding dentist who I've threatened with stalking if she ever leaves this practice 😂
There are truly some wonderful people in the world @Florenceem and that taxi driver is one of them. Like everyone else, keeping fingers crossed that the ball has started rolling with the various organisations and you can get some much needed support soon.
Have written a list of things I need to tackle over the next couple of days but managed to declutter a couple of things already:
79: broken mug (that fell off the draining board while the washing machine was doing a particularly violent spin!)
80: used up face powder - now I'm down to my last one (no more hoarding!)
81: used up deodorant (have a few more to go before I've used up that part of the "stash")Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201720 -

Morning all, I'm back in the TLC carriage again but with a head cold and annoying cough, think I must have caught it maybe whilst clothes shopping with DD last Friday or at the opticians with Dad, even though I was masked most people weren't and lots were coughing 🙄. Sadly I seem to have shared the lurgy with DH too, ooops.
There is nothing that can be done about my Dad's eyesight as his cataracts have thickened and because of his age and health he can't be referred for surgery as he probably wouldn't survive it. I'm not so sure about that as I think he would come out unscathed from under a nuclear bomb 🤣. Anyway the opticians are going to send someone to sort him out some aids. He was happy with that because it's free here in Wales.
I took Dad shopping to a sm afterwards, big mistake as he has no method of shopping. Even though he had a list not much on there was bought, just rubbish foods like cakes etc. and only then if they were reduced. (BTW he's not short of money) Why does he have to pick things up, scrutinise it then put it back because he didn't want it in the first place 🤷♀️. I tried to get most of the essential things on his list but I'd had enough 3/4 of the way round and left him to it, he's got more stamina than me ! I'll be doing the food shopping online again for all of us, sadly I just don't have the energy to walk around a sm anymore.
In the cardboard recycling today a large crisp box and large coffee box. The coffee pods have been put in their metal holder and the packaging binned. I have emptied all the house bins but then had to pry the outside rubbish bin open as it was frozen shut 🥶
I made beef casserole with freezer leftovers this week and there's now a big piping hot cauldron of it in the TLC carriage along with some fresh bread if anyone would like some in this cold weather. I did bulk it out with some fresh veg and there's some left, so I'll chop the rest up and freeze it.
MrsSD my lovely DD bought me some new slippers to replace the too small ones so there's no need to look for some in the cs 👍 Hugs to your DSis.
Florenceem hugs to you and Mr F. Hope you can get some respite from all the worrying.
MuddyW great news for your Mum.xx
Daisy loving the Sindy wardrobe. I had just an open cardboard box standing up on end with a child's knitting needle across it 😁 I still have my Sindy doll and some of her clothes wrapped up and in a bedroom cupboard. I can't seem to part with her.
LiverpoolAnne beautiful blanket and lovely colour.
Have a good day everyone if you can. Keep warm and safe. Hugs to anyone in need.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently18 -
Muddy Walker - great news for your mum
Florenceem - fingers crossed you can get things moved along today
nannywindow - I am in tlc carriage with you with a cold and fatigue
OH did a grand job digging up dead plants in the garden yesterday in cold weather and putting them in green bin. I managed emptying a pot of spice that didn’t smell too fresh and pot went into plastic recycling. At least it was better than nothing at all. Am cross that I have no energy as admin tasks need to be done but they will just have to wait.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅20
